“I Appreciate Ashleigh Sooooo much! I was so nervous on leaving my boys with someone they haven’t met. But she was no less than amazing. Sent me plenty pictures daily, made sure I was in the loop & even swept where the dogs were ❤️. I appreciate her so much & 10/10 will be the person I use when I go out of town for now on. Now I can really take trips now!”

“Having Becky drop in was a game changer for our kitties. They were much happier when we returned home after having dedicated attention and playtime every day. She also took great care of our chickens! We will definitely be rebooting if we decide to go out of town again.”

About: I have had all size dogs since I was 12. I love that they love you unconditionally. I enjoy walking my dogs, and I can't help but laugh when they get the zoomies. I always try to be patient when they are unsure or need to take medicine. I work full time, but I am available in the evenings and weekends. I am available to come to your house to take of your animals needs. Your animal can also come my house for the weekend if needed. Please schedule in advance. I prefer to do a meet and greet, since I also have two rambunctious kids. I have two small sociable dogs that are both fixed. They stay in the kennel when I am at work, but when my husband has a break he will let them out. I have a large backyard that that is fenced in, and my neighborhood has sidewalks to walk dogs. My household is also high energy, but also love snuggle time and belly rubs.
“Mackenzie did a fantastic job taking care of my cats! She was always on time and sent me adorable pictures with every visit. One of my cats is very shy and scrambles under the bed when visitors show up, but she grew to trust Mackenzie over a few days. Aside from her ability to take care of pets, she's also a wonderful human being. When my flights got messed up and I had to return a day later than I anticipated, she was very understanding and willing to check on the cats that morning. Highly recommend booking Mackenzie!”
“This kind individual agreed to help with my dogs VERY last minute as a “friend” ditched. She let them out and let them do their own things. I am so appreciate of her!!! Great sitter!! Will definitely use again ❤️”

About: I have had many years of animal care! I have been volunteering in animal shelters since I was 16 and have previously walked dogs in Chicago for a few months! Most recently, I was on a volunteer team that helped train rescued puppy litters. I am currently a dental student that does not have the time for a full time job, but will always make time for some furry friends! I live in a gated apartment community with grassy areas within. There are no other animals in my apartment. My area is very walkable and I would love to be able to do so with your pet!
“Miranda is awesome! My German shepherd puppy is vary wary of new people, and he was best friends with her after the first day. She's made sure he's well exercised, fed, and happy. She is very good about communicating and sending pictures/videos of my dog whenever she visits so I can see how he's doing. She's got a lot of experience so she's been able to give me some pointers/tips that have really helped out.”

“Renee was awesome!! She took very good care of our two doggies while we were gone for vacation. She was quick to reply and we never had to worrry about our doggies and just truly ejoy our vacation”

About: I have been a pet sitter for 15 years. I would love to take care of your furry friends! I have 2 dogs that are my babies 💜 Pet sitting is something I enjoy doing on weekends as a way to spend time with animals while helping families feel at ease when they’re away. Because I only take on a limited number of bookings, I’m able to give each pet the time, attention, and care they deserve. Whether it’s sticking to their normal routine, going for walks, or simply providing companionship, I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re gone. I understand that trusting someone with your pets and your home is a big responsibility. Your pets’ safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I will treat them as if they were my own by following their routines, providing plenty of love and attention, and keeping a close eye on their well-being. I am committed to maintaining a safe environment by ensuring doors, gates, and leashes are secure, keeping potentially harmful items out of reach, and communicating promptly if any concerns arise. You can have peace of mind knowing your furry family members will be cared for with patience, compassion, and attention to detail while you’re away.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Gibson
Ella did a fantastic job taking care of my kitties over the holidays! She thoroughly read the instructions I left her, paid good attention to detail, and kept the house clean. She even cleaned the sink, which was a pleasant surprise! She managed my cats' different dietary needs, including supplements and loading an automatic feeder, and handled one of the cats puking multiple times like a champ (on Christmas, no less!). She was highly communicative throughout her visits, which I appreciated. She's also a great picture taker! She sent pictures in the Rover Cards that really captured my cats' personalities. That showed me they felt comfortable with her, which made me feel much better about being away. I wholeheartedly recommend Ella as a sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gibson. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
