“We had such a wonderful experience with Jackie over a long weekend. From the very beginning, she went above and beyond even taking the time to meet with us beforehand. While away, her communication was exceptional. She kept us updated with thoughtful messages and clearly treated our cat with so much care and attention. It gave us total peace of mind. When we returned home, we were genuinely touched to find a sweet thank you card and a warm “welcome home” loaf of bread from her favorite bakery. That level of thoughtfulness is so rare and truly sets her apart. I cannot recommend her highly enough, she is truly one of a kind. If you’re looking for someone who will treat you and your pets like family book with Jackie.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats my entire life. We currently have two wonderful dogs, Bitzer and Bueller—they bring so much joy to our lives! I love taking them on walks, playing fetch, snuggling, and making sure they are incredibly well taken care of. Beyond my own pets, I have years of experience caring for friends' dogs, cats, and birds. Why Choose Me: Highly Experienced: Lifelong pet owner who understands animal behavior and needs. Reliable & Punctual: I show up exactly when promised for walks and visits. Gentle & Loving: Your pet gets the exact same high standard of care, attention, and safety that Bitzer and Bueller get. I would love the opportunity to give your pets a fun, safe, and happy experience while you are away! I am very flexible with my time throughout the weekdays and weekends. I can walk your pets, play with them, check in on them, and dog sit them at my home if they are good with other dogs and children. I will send you updates and photos during each visit so that you will have peace of mind that they are being well taken care of and feel very loved! I have a gated backyard, two very friendly dogs that are good around all people, including children, and would be willing to watch them in my home if they’re good with dogs and kids. I could also crate them if you needed me to as well. I will follow your direction on what is best for your dog(s).

About: I have cared, worked and trained with countless dogs over the last six years, loving every single minute of it. Early in my journey, a mentor shared a piece of wisdom that forever shaped my philosophy: "An animal trained with a focus on compliance through force or fear will always run into something or someone that creates more fear than you can match. But if you train based on a relationship of fair boundaries, kindness, and reliability, something incredible happens. When that dog runs into a terrifying situation, they won't run away. They will run to you because you are their safety and their home." - Terra Ruiz. This is the foundation of everything I do. I grew up surrounded by multiple Standard Poodles and later spent time working with horses, which deeply shaped my understanding of animal behavior and the subtle dynamics of pressure-and-release. More recently I've volunteered and worked along side sertch and rescue K9 handlers continuing my learning. My goal is to help you have the best care possible for your pet and build and keep an unshakeable bond with your pet, rooted in mutual trust rather than constant micromanagement. I have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care needs, from early morning visits and midday walks to evening check-ins and extended stays. I'm happy to work with your schedule and your pet's routine to provide consistent, dependable care when you need it most! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and trust are my priorities. With six years of professional animal care and training experience, I’m attentive to body language, safe handling, and each pet’s individual needs. I follow your care instructions, respect your home and your pet’s boundaries, and provide updates and photos for peace of mind while you’re away.
“Gabby and Kade took great care of my fur babies while I was away. They sent lots of pictures and followed my whole list of instructions. They spent time playing with them and made sure they felt comfortable while I was gone! Thank you Gabby and Kade!!”

About: Hello! My name is Emma Brown and I work in the outdoor field hoping to work with wildlife in the future. I have always had dogs in my household growing up. Ever since I was young, I made it my job to teach my dogs tricks, make sure they don’t get into trouble, and give them the best home. At one point, my childhood dog had a litter of 11 chocolate lab puppies. I helped to raise them up all the way until they left for their new homes. I also watched other people’s dogs growing up. I have always made it my priority to understand each pet owners request and stick to that schedule. Prioritizing each dog’s safety and health has always been my biggest strength as well. This is what I love to do and I can’t wait to get to know your pets! I’m currently in between jobs right now and will have a lot of time to be with your pets. Depending on what you ask, I can take out your pets on walks, to be let out, or to just be around however long you may ask for. Just let me know what schedule you’d like me to fit into. I unfortunately can’t house your dog in my home. I can pet and house sit to make sure to keep their schedule as normal as possible. I always try my best to prioritize their safety and health, so only giving them their own food and treats is how I do so. I don’t feed my own pets my extra food scraps so don’t worry about that. Once you let me know of their schedule, I’ll follow it to the best of my ability. I would also love to know their mannerisms and quirks so I can best approach them and their care.
About: My pet care experience is extensive, having completed over 30, 5-star dog/cat sits, years of caring for and raising dogs and cats, as well as experience with Positive Reinforcement training and Clicker Dog Training. I have experience with lots of breeds, large, small and everything in-between! My experience covers young active dogs as well as elderly pups who need a slower pace, and I believe ever dog needs a "sniff" walk once in a while! My animal care experience spans my entire life! I have had the privilege of owning many rescue animals over the years including a German shepherd, border collie mix, chihuahua, miniature Maltese poodle mix, and three different cats! I've had dogs since I was 3 years old, got my very first (and long asked for) cat at 4 years old, experienced raising my first litter of kittens at 5 years old and got my very own miniature white Maltese poodle mix at 7! I've also done weekend dog watching and am always the first call for animal care when friends are traveling. I'm a college student, currently studying remotely to enable the amazing opportunity of pet care, traveling and pet sitting! My schedule is fairly flexible, so your furry friend will not be alone for long stretches of time! A little bit about me: I'm a trained ballet dancer, musician and writer, spending any free time I have taking classes, keeping up a healthy lifestyle and working on my first novel! I love spending time reading, walking the furry friend I'm staying with and finding new study cafe's. I am currently available for: -Dog walking services -Drop-in visits -In-home pet sitting -Long term in-home pet sitting -Elderly Dog walking care Specialized pet care I look forward to chatting about any further questions!

“Christina was wonderful with my cat! She went above and beyond to make sure he was well cared for and comfortable. She was reliable, communicative, and kept me updated throughout. I really appreciated how attentive and caring she was, and I would definitely trust her with my cat again!”

“This was our second booking with Lori and as usual, she had gone above and beyond basic drop-in visits. I love having peace of mind knowing our cats and our home were in good hands while we were away. Most definitely sticking with her for future pet care and bookings! 10/10 Recommend her for your pet care too!”

About: Hi! I’m an animal lover who understands how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets like family. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to each pet’s unique personality, needs, and routine. I know that every animal is different, and I want to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. As a pet owner myself, I understand how much our furry family members mean to us. I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, feeding, companionship, and plenty of love and attention. I’m also comfortable following specific care instructions and keeping you updated with pictures and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is to make your pets feel right at home and give you confidence knowing they’re in reliable hands. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friends! I currently work as a teacher from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM during the week, so my weekends are the perfect time for me to dedicate extra attention and love to your pets! I’m an animal lover and have two cats, one dog and 3 goats of my own who I care for every morning/night. When I get home, I make sure my pets get the attention they need, including taking my dog for a walk right away. I’m used to building pet care into my daily routine and understand how important consistency is for animals. On weekends, I have more flexibility to spend quality time with your pets, whether that means going for walks, playing, providing companionship, or simply keeping them company. I’m committed to following your pet’s normal routine and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away! I have a fenced backyard where dogs can safely enjoy some outdoor time and play. I also have a friendly dog and two friendly cats! I understand that every animal has different needs and comfort levels, and I would always prioritize your pet’s safety and well-being. I would make sure pets are supervised, have access to fresh water, and receive plenty of attention and care. I also understand that not every pet is comfortable around other animals, so I would always take introductions slowly and keep pets separated when needed to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable.

“Morgan & Tyler R gave excellent care to cat when I needed to leave for a few days. She was safe, fed, and well cared for. They sent me pictures and feedback of my kitty to know she was doing well. I appreciate the care they gave her.”

Thank you so much for taking such special time with umi while we were away. You and your son provided such lovely updates and pictures. We especially enjoyed the ones of umi surrounded by all of her critter toys 🥹 we will absolutely be reaching out again if we ever need additional care. You brought us such peace of mind. Thank you again, Melissa! ❤️

Lisa was wonderful. I have never left my cat for more than 36 hours and planned to be away for 10 days so that made me extremely anxious. We did a meet and greet prior to my vacation and she made me feel very comfortable knowing my "baby" would be in good hands! I loved getting the daily pictures and report cards. I would not hesitate to book Lisa again if/when the need arises!
Layla was amazing! I think my cat might like her more than me, now. She took great care of my lil cat & made me feel at ease with leaving her at home. Layla sent such sweet messages with the cute pictures she took. I’d book her again in a heartbeat!! It was great having a vacation without having to worry about whether my pet was okay 🙌🏼

Rose is fantastic. My cat is very picky with his friends and he LOVES rose! She gives them all the attention, enjoys play time with them, and is extremely reliable and professional. I have booked rose many times to watch my two cats and will continue to be a repeat customer. She is my go-to!

Laura was wonderful to work with. It's evident that she is well versed in animal care. She was gentle and kind with my pets. She was great at communicating and overall on it. We felt at ease traveling knowing our home and cat were in good hands. Based in our experience with Laura, I highly recommend her for pet or house sitting.
I am so thankful Christy was available to watch my Frankie Poo last week. She put me at ease, we first scheduled a house visit to get acquainted and from there it was an easy choice to proceed with her services. She is so passionate about animals, and she really loved both of our pets as much as we do. Thank you for coming over this last week, and spending time with my lil’ Frankie Frank. You’re truly a treasure!

Emilyanne was wonderful to work with. She took great care of our 2 cats, 28 chickens and 1 goose. Her communication was great and she sent multiple pictures/videos each day. She went above and beyond with cleaning and spending time interacting with the cats. We would definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone.

Jeanette did an excellent job and took great care of my kitty--seeing she got lots of petting, brushing and loves. That's important for Pandora as she is a very people oriented little girl. Every thing was clean and neat and Jeannette even put out some bird seed without being asked. We will definitely have her back.
Maia was extremely sweet and made sure that our kitty, Cinder, was well cared for. She provided quality care and play, and sent us frequent updates with photos and the occasional video. She was communicative with us, and we could tell that Cinder who struggles with separation anxiety, did a lot better than she normally does when we're gone for a while. Thanks Maia! <3

Peyton is such a reliable and kind caretaker! She sent plenty of pictures of Petey while we were gone and it made us feel at peace knowing he was being well taken care of. She is a good communicator and clearly loves animals. Thanks Peyton! We’ll definitely book you again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
