My schedule is flexible and fluid; no two days or weeks look the same. With enough advance notice of a sit, I can work my schedule around your fur child's needs and expectations. Every pet is unique, as is every sit. I pride myself on ensuring you feel connected with your fur children, even when you are miles away.

Safety, trust & environment
As a homeowner, pet parent, and mother of a grown son, I am confident that your fur children and home are in very capable, trustworthy hands. With three decades of experience with animals, I am competent and confident that you will be able to step away from your domicile knowing everything is taken care of in your absence. I make sure to communicate as often as you would like, bringing you into our daily endeavors so you feel close to them, even when you are away. I am very OCD regarding cleanliness; I aim to leave my pet parents' home cleaner than how it was handed over to me. I own my own home and STR (short-term rental) business, providing me with an extensive understanding of general home maintenance and home needs. Your home is in capable hands while you are away. I offer house cleaning while my clients are away for an additional charge (deep cleaning, organization, general cleaning, etc.), as well as any personal assistance items, for my clients while they are away. I aim to ensure my clients arrive home without additional stress while they are away. I have been around animals since I was brought into this world. I have an excellent understanding of dog speak, cat speak, and even horse language :) Looking forward to meeting your fur children and bestowing some affection and quality time with them. **Please note** I offer services 60 miles from my home address, as I understand finding a sitter in rural areas in NID/EWA can be challenging. * Dog walking/drop-in visits greater than 7 miles or 15 minutes (whichever is greater), a rural surcharge will be applied. * Pet sits greater than 10 miles/20 minutes (whichever is greater), a rural surcharge will be applied to the nightly rate. * Requests that are outside of my service radius that require/request, an in-person meet and greet, a “drop-in visit” will be required to offset my time and travel expenses. * Pet's requiring additional care (medical, special needs, time, ect.), an adjustment to the rate will be made, based on level of care/time required.
Information Emilyanne H. would like to know about your pet
With my extensive background in dog training, I find it especially important to know your dog’s triggers and elicited behavior responses to known triggers, as well as their likes and dislikes. This dramatically helps you approach your dog in a manner that they will receive well. Much like children, dogs need consistency in their lives. Having a well-laid-out 'typical' schedule allows me to follow their routine, as that is key when their primary attachment figure (the pet parent) is gone and they have a substitute pet parent. I also like to know of any known allergies the dog may have to food or sensitivities. I typically carry dog treats with me, as they become unique to my visit and something they look forward to. I also like to have a list of known commands, items you are working on with the dog, and also what they are allowed to do and not to do :) They are much like children and love to push their limits with new people!
A typical day
I love to work with dogs, push their limits, and teach them new things within the accepted range of their pet parents' approval. I have an extensive background in dog training - ADA, hunting, and showmanship - which gives me a unique perspective and many tools and tricks in my back pocket (along with a few treats). Dogs love to please, especially playing fetch, as it kicks up their endorphins and boosts the 'feel-good' chemicals in a dog's brain. I love to incorporate this type of play in a long walk - if the dog is good off a leash - if not, then I change up my program to make sure that each type of activity is well within their trained framework. Cats are typically more on their schedule, and I let them set the tone.

Pet care experience
I grew up on 80 acres in beautiful North Idaho. I have been a pet parent of dogs, cats, horses, fish, rabbits, snakes, and Guinea pigs. My father bred, hunted, and showed hunting dogs. I have a solid background in dog and horse training and extensive experience with senior dogs/cats and their needs. I am comfortable caring for your furry, feathered, and farm family members when you are away from home.
Reviews

There is not enough words to describe Emilyanne. She has a great passion for her work and how well she cares for her clients home and pets. She is a true professional and gave us great piece of mind that our dogs were well cared for. The daily updates and photos allowed us to enjoy our time away even more. We will be using her again and highly recommend her.

Emilyanne is fantastic with my high energy Great Dane. Daisy loves their time together and always gets lots of exercise and snuggles. Emilyanne is an amazing house guest and leaves my home cleaner than it was when she arrived. She is very conscientious and in tune with Daisy and is vigilant about her mood, physical changes and care instructions. We will definitely book her again and again.

Emilyanne did such an amazing job for us during our vacation. Not only did she keep our pup happy, she gave love to my indoor plants and outdoor garden! We came home to a happy dog, a clean house and greener greenery!

So super impressed with Emilyanne. She took amazing care of my animals and my house, did everything I asked and so much more! Highly recommend her for all of your pet and house-sitting needs!
