“Jessica has watched our pets multiple times and she never ceases to amaze me. We have 3 pets and 2 are unhealthy, requiring multiple medications daily. Jessica handled all like a trooper! We were gone for a week and I was quite worried about our doodle as she has ongoing IBD and it has been extremely difficult treating it. Knowing stress makes it worse and raises her anxiety when I am not around, I was afraid she may have another flare! Jessica kept her happy as well as our other pets and kept them on their normal play and daily routines! She sent pictures and texts continuously daily and kept me up to date when she was leaving the house! Honestly, I can not say enough about her! She cares and treated our pets as her own. If you are looking for an amazing sitter, then please contact Jessica! You will not be disappointed. We have had some not so good sitters in the past and we will not have to look anymore as Jessica is the best!! Thank you again Jessica! Our pups love you and look forward to seeing you whenever we leave!!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and pets of all ages for most of my life. I’m a bit of a homebody, so naturally I’ve become the person my family calls when they need someone they trust to pet sit and I love it! When your fur baby is with me, you can count on me to follow their routine and all the little things that make them happy. Whether that’s watching their favorite show, practicing a newly learned trick, playing together, getting some fresh air, or just relaxing with some company, I want their time with me to feel comfortable and familiar. Every pet has their own personality and needs, and I’m happy to accommodate special routines or additional care whenever possible. If your pet needs a meet & greet before their stay, we can absolutely schedule one so they have a chance to get comfortable with me first. My goal is simple: to give your pet plenty of love, attention, fun, and companionship while you’re away. They may be staying with me, but they’ll be treated like one of my family. ❤️ I work from home with a flexible schedule for walks and plenty of energy for play time and affection. We have a huge fenced in area for dogs to get in some exercise and let out the zoomies! My goal is to provide your pet with the best care possible, as if you never left! I want to make them feel comfortable and safe by following their daily feeding, walking and playtime schedules so they never lose their routines. I give every pet lots of love and affection, just as if they were my own ❤️
“Victoria was great with our fur babies! She also answered right away when I was texting her during my vacation and sent pictures of my dogs everyday! Will use her service again!”

“5 Stars – Hands down the BEST dog sitter we've ever had! Carissa is an absolute gem! From our very first meet-and-greet, she was incredibly thorough—asking every important question and answering all of ours with patience and clarity. We instantly felt at ease leaving our 9-year-old Apollo in her care. She was always extremely responsive, easy to reach, and wonderfully accommodating to both Apollo's needs and ours (including bringing in mail and packages). Our home was left spotless and tidy. The daily updates were a highlight—multiple photos and messages each day showing Apollo happily running in the yard, playing indoors, getting tons of cuddles, and smiling with his chompers lol. Seeing how content and loved he was allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our family vacation without a single worry! When our flight was unexpectedly canceled and rescheduled (leaving us stuck in airports for an extra 30 hours), Carissa immediately and graciously agreed to stay an additional night. Knowing Apollo was in such capable, caring hands made a stressful travel day, much easier. Carissa's professionalism, genuine love for dogs, and thoughtful attention to detail made our trip better than we could have hoped. We've never felt more comfortable or at peace leaving our senior pup with anyone else. She is now our first and only choice for future sittings! Thank you, Carissa—you're phenomenal! ♥️”

About: 33-year-old lifelong pet owner with veterinary kennel experience. Skilled with dogs of all sizes, cats, and multi-pet homes. Reliable, attentive, and treat every pet like family. 🐾 Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule, allowing reliable drop-ins, walks, and attentive care throughout weekdays and weekends. I provide attentive in-home sitting and walks, follow your pet’s routine closely, ensure secure leashing, safe environments, and constant supervision for comfort and safety.
About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have always had a big heart for them. I have experience house sitting and caring for pets for family members, and I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family. My goal is to make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I currently work two flexible jobs that are understanding when I need time off for pet sitting. If I accept a booking on a workday, I’ll always communicate my schedule in advance and ensure your pet receives the love, attention, and quality care they deserve. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, and I’m committed to making it work for both you and your pet. I currently have six cats, so I’m very familiar with caring for multiple cats and keeping them happy and comfortable. They eat twice a day, always have dry food available for a little snack if they’re hungry, get treats at the end of the day, and have plenty of toys and cozy beds to enjoy. I also have experience with dogs—I grew up with them and have cared for friends’ and family members’ dogs through pet sitting. I’m comfortable caring for pets of different personalities and will always treat them with the same love and attention I give my own.
About: With a flexible schedule, years of dog ownership, and no competing obligations, your dog receives loving attention, personalized care and is always my top priority. Pet care is my priority. With a completely flexible schedule and no competing obligations, I'm available throughout the day and week to provide attentive, loving care whenever it's needed. Your pet safety and comfort always come first. In my home, pets are treated like family with plenty of attention. Regular walks, playtime, and a consistent routine. While I don't have a yard, I take dogs out frequently for exercise and bathroom breaks. In your home, I'll carefully follow your pet's normal schedule, feeding instructions, medications and any special routines to help them feel secure and comfortable while you're away. I always keep owners updated with photos and messages for added peace of mind.
About: Hi! 🤗 thanks for checking me out! I have a ton of experience with animals! I have experience in animal hospitals and doggy daycares alike 😃 Taking care of animals is where my heart is. I’ve always had multiple animals at a time. CPR and trauma experienced. I’m available all the time currently! Which means longer walks, play in the yard, or cuddles! I walk dogs full time so don’t be shy! I can’t watch anyone in my apartment, but I can come to your home or take them out and about! My attitude changes with each animal as I learn them. Most dogs I’m pretty playful with and have a lot of high energy play, some like to just sit next to a warm body on the couch and I can do that too.

About: I have flexible availability, and I work from home most days - to ensure my pups, and yours, will be able to get all of the attention and love they deserve! I've gone through dog training with my own dogs, and my border collie is an aspiring therapy dog and she often accompanies everywhere I go. I am fortunate enough to work primarily from home and can accommodate early drop offs and late pick ups during the week! Available most weekends. When your animals are here with us, they are fully integrated into the family. There will be lots of walks, cuddles, kisses and have full access to our home as if they are one of my own animals ❤️ *we recently put in a fence, so your pups will have more room to play and can stay safe! I have two dogs of my own, Boon & Tristney. They are both lovers, but Boon is still a puppy, so he loves to play! Tristney, she loves love, hugs, and belly rubs. She's a shy girl and likely won't play, but always enjoys a companion on our daily walks. We also have a cat- but he spends most of his time outside. Its unlikely he'll make an appearance, but when he does it's mainly for dinner. As a 22 pound cat, he never misses a meal. If I am not home at anytime I do have a teen and a husband that help fill in any gaps of time. The two of them are also big animal lovers and are incredibly helpful.
“Another awesome experience with Mckenzie! Not only did she hang out with my pets for a few hours while we were busy, but she went above and beyond scooping the litter box and making sure everyone was happy before she left. So grateful to her for taking such great care of my fur babies and always sending me updates. Thankful to have such a great pet sitter.”

“Lily did a wonderful job sitting for my Maize and a friend’s Cooper. They have two distinctly different personalities and Lily was able to make them both comfortable. She sent me pictures daily, which I really appreciated. She also left the house in perfect order. I will definitely hire her again. I highly recommend Lily!”

When dogs get bored I will play with them and keep them entertained with their toys and treats. I practice training tricks to keep their brains happy and stimulated!

“This was our first time using a pet sitter that was not family. From the minute I met Sara at the meet and greet I knew she would be a great fit. She followed everything exactly the way we asked. The pets were very well taken care of. She texted updates throughout the day as well as pictures. We will use her again on our next vacation. Thanks Sara!”

“Levi communicated well and clearly did a great job with our dogs. Usually, we can tell when we have been gone because they are more anxious when we return. This time, it was like we never left. We would recommend him to any of our friends!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Genesee walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Genesee maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Genesee choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Genesee. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
