About: Since high school I have pet sat for family and friends and I'm also a lifelong pet owner of both cats and dogs! My dog growing up was a Samoyed, giving me lots of experience in handling strong energetic dogs and I've had many cats throughout my life. Some, like my current cat Albus, were very cuddly, while others were very shy and reserved. This lifelong experience has allowed me to learn how to handle all sorts of different needs and personalities of every animal I meet and know the challenges and joys of pets at any age. Currently I have one pet named Albus, he's a very grumpy looking Norwegian Forest who loves to cuddle, take naps in the sun, and people watch through the windows of our house. He is also very mischievous and likes to mess with people by laying right where he knows you'll walk so he gets extra pets with no effort! All of this gives me the experience needed to ensure your pets get lots of playtime, daily walks, plenty of treats, as many pets as your fur-baby desires, and making sure they get any pills they need on time! I also know how stressful traveling away from your pet can be, so I will be sending plenty of pictures and will respond to any texts as quickly as possible to ensure you won't have to stress during your vacation! My shedule is very flexible, occasionally I will be out of town on contract but in the time I am home I will be able to cater to your pets schedule. I'll keep a close eye on your pet while I'm there and my main goal is to make sure their usual schedule is kept! so the more details of pet care you can give me the better. I'll make sure they get walks, meals, medicine etc. at the correct times to ensure the health and happiness of your pet. I am also happy to do household tasks like watering plants or taking out the trash. I will also always ensure all doors are locked, and there's a light on when I leave (unless requested otherwise) to make sure your pet is as safe as possible while I'm away.

“Carmelo did a wonderful job staying in my house with Bentley and Benji while we were away for a six days. He sent photos daily, communicated often and my house looked perfect when I arrived home. The pups were happy and healthy. Thanks Carmelo, I will definitely call you again.”

“Lise is amazing! She took such great care of our dog, two cats, and our house. She communicated with us everyday about our pets and sent the sweetest photos and texts. We returned to a perfectly clean house, and a very happy dog and cats. When I first met Lise I sensed she was special but now after having had her as a pet/house sitter I am confident she is one of the best out there. She understands and connects with the animals and has great intuition. She will be my first call next time I need a pet sitter. I highly recommend her!!”

“Susan went above and beyond for my little guy. He an old guy with ailments, and she was very attentive and mindful of his needs. She answered all my check-in messages and was flexible to give additional help if my travel plans had snags. And she left the place looking just as tidy as I left it. I highly recommend her.”

“Emory was such a pleasure to work with. She came to meet our pup ahead of her care days which I really appreciated. Our pup was beautifully cared for and our home was in perfect condition when I returned. She was also a good communicator, sending pics and updates. I would highly recommend Emory to care for your pet.”

About: I’ve cared for my family friends' dogs while they were away, which helped me understand the importance of building trust with both pets and owners. I am currently enrolled in school on weekends and trade school in evening. I and available during weekday mornings and afternoons to provide reliable dog sitting services. My cats are indoor-only, and my dog enjoys a large backyard for play. Due to my cats' territorial nature, it might be challenging to accommodate other animals in my home.

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all kinds. I have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs for friends and neighbors, providing daily walks, feeding, playtime, and even overnight stays to keep them happy and comfortable while their owners are away. Whether it’s a quick walk or a full weekend of care, I treat every dog like they’re my own. I am able to watch your pet as much as possible, providing walks and playing with the dog as needed. Since I walk my own dog often, I can work your dog into my schedule as well. I will make sure your pet gets the attention and exercise it deserves. I have a backyard where the dog is free to get its energy out, but also a clean and safe house where the dog can wander and play with my own dog.

About: I've cared for pets of my family, friends, and clients, including elderly dogs, active large breeds, and those requiring daily medication. I enjoy walking active dogs and giving them lots of attention. I'm currently working full time, but I can do morning and afternoon walks or runs. I can often visit pets during lunch if in San Rafael. I always take safety precautions to ensure there is no risk of your pet getting hurt or escaping. These precautions are tailored to your pet's personality and the owner's instructions.

“Pat was great! She came by for a meet & greet ahead of her stay with our dog and was very communicative throughout. She was thoughtful and we’ll definitely be using her again!”

About: For house-sitting, please message us to discuss availability. We may have more availability than listed on Rover! Ryane and Dave are a couple with decades of experience in pet care. Between us, we have provided care for dogs, cats, small animals, birds (including raptors), reptiles, fish, and exotics. Our experience includes providing medication and taking care of special needs animals. Both Ryane and Dave have advanced degrees in animal-related fields; Ryane has a Ph.D in Animal Behavior and Dave has a Master's degree in Avian Science. Both of us have devoted our lives and careers to learning about and caring for various animals. Our experience through both research and wildlife rehab has given us plenty of hands-on medical experience with animals. Our former cat, Charlie, needed up to 8 medications a day for the last year of her life, and we understand just how hard it can be to travel when you have a high-needs companion. We hope our years of professional and personal experience caring for animals will help alleviate your anxieties, knowing your critters are in capable and loving hands. Please feel free to reach out to us to discuss if we are a good fit for watching your animal(s). Our schedule changes regularly and Rover may not be up to date; we may be able to accommodate requests outside of our listed calendar. Please message us to discuss options. Ryane currently works full time Tuesday-Saturday, but Dave's work is remote, so one of us is usually around to give care to your animals when needed! Please note that we are often balancing our work with pet care, so understanding your pet's individual care needs throughout the day is important to determining if we are a good fit. Please provide as much information as you can! We pride ourselves on leaving our client's home as clean as we found it and will always treat your home with the utmost respect. We do our best to follow your pet's established schedules and routines, making your time away as easy on your pet as possible! We are also able to provide regular house care (e.g. plant watering, etc.), just let us know what is needed!

Ryane & David L.
“Ryane and Dave have sat for our dogs a couple of times and they're great. One of them is a tempramental chihuahua, but they handled him no problem at all. They bring a wealth of formal education in various types of animal studies as well, which gives them a level of understanding of animal behavior that far exceeds most petsitters you're going to find. Definitely recommend!”

“Kayla was amazing! I felt very comfortable trusting her in my home. She has amazing communication and I would highly recommend her to anyone in search of a house sitter.”
Gallinas pet parents share their Rover experiences
Kathryn did such a fantastic job watching Marvin. From the start, she was super communicative, sending thoughtful updates and asking clarifying questions for things I forgot to mention. She clearly cared about Marvin’s comfort and well-being, and even took him on a fun hiking adventure, which he loved! She was also very respectful of my space and took great care of everything while I was away. I came home to a happy pup and peace of mind. I would absolutely love to book with Kathryn again in the future. She is awesome, and I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Adrienne was wonderful with our two dogs! Her calm energy was a great fit for our pups, who need a loving and quiet home. I could tell immediately upon our first meeting that she was a kind and compassionate person, which put us at ease. She sent us cute videos and updates, which were fun to get. Our house was immaculate when we returned home, too. Highly recommend Adrienne!

Clara was absolutely wonderful! She took amazing care of Leia and our home while we were away for almost a month. Clara provided frequent updates and photos, so we always knew Leia was in good hands. Leia seemed so happy and relaxed when we returned, and the house was spotless. Clara was very reliable, trustworthy, and communicative. We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. We highly recommend her!

Katrina was an excellent pet sitter. We could tell when we arrived home since our dogs were so relaxed and happy. She is a kind and caring person who our dogs loved. She took care of our house well too. She sent photos and comments about the dogs while we were away. We would highly recommend her!

Gavin took care of our 13-year-old chihuahua/terrier pup, Cindy, for six days while we were out of town, and we are convinced that he is a dog whisperer. Cindy is not an easy doggo - she's anxious, sensitive about being touched, and barks nonstop at strangers. We are always so scared to leave her with a sitter because we know how difficult she van be. Gavin visited twice before we left to make sure he understood all of Cindy's needs. Within two days of being with Gavin, Cindy was cuddling him on the couch and not even barking when he came into the door. Everyday, Gavin sent us so many photos and videos, and we could see how respectful he was of Cindy's body language that other sitters haven't been able to read. Cindy was clearly relaxed and happy, we were floored and amazed. His care of her put us at ease and we enjoyed our vacation in a way that we've never been able to before. We wish we had found him years ago! Gavin went above and beyond to stay late on the last day, and then left our home spotless. He has our highest recommendation!

We had to leave town at the last minute for a family emergency, and Brenda stepped in to sit for Pippa and Cruz with just a few days notice. We were so grateful that she was able to sit for us and knowing that our dogs were in great hands was such a relief when we had other logistics to worry about. The dogs were happy and well cared for, and the house was super clean when we returned. Thanks again, Brenda!

Noelle has a beautiful warm energy which my dog immediately was receptive to. She is gentle and kind and truly seems to love being around animals. My dog immediately bonded with her and had a wonderful day with her. They went on a long hike and she gave him belly rubs and ball play. Noelle was prompt and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend her! She is a gem!

Guillermo housesat our Pittie for 13 days and did a great job. This is the second time we used Guillermo’s services. He was was responsive with communications. He sent daily messages with photos of them on walks. He took good care of the house too. It was a great experience. Thank you Guillermo!

Susan is amazing! We are so lucky to have found her. Our bernedoodle, Benny, adores her. He even snuggled with her all night. She took lots of photos and took great care of our house. She is very communicative, kind, responsible, and had a great immediate connection with Benny. She is the best dog sitter we have had.

Toni took excellent care of our 4 kittens, all of whom required medication. She went above and beyond to keep them company and engage with them. She also took excellent care of our home, again, going above and beyond. We were able to completely relax on our vacation knowing our kittens and home were being cared for in the same way we care for them.

Carla was a fantastic house/pet sitter for us. She took our pup on multiple excursions, gave her a bath when she was dirty from all of the fun outings, and kept our house tidy. She sent us great photos and videos to provide us with the extra comfort of knowing that all was well back home. I highly recommend Carla without hesitation.
