About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 5 years and have experience with both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. I also worked for a woman who owned her own Yorkie breeding business for a year, where I helped care for puppies and adult dogs daily. Along with that experience, I’ve helped neighbors, friends, and family with feeding, walking, playtime, overnight care, and giving pets plenty of attention and affection. I’ve also worked with cats for 2 years, and they’re one of my favorite animals to care for. I’m dependable, patient, and treat every pet like they’re my own. My schedule is flexible, and I do my best to accommodate each pet parent’s needs. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, overnight care, and extended stays depending on availability. I’m reliable, communicative, and committed to keeping pets on their normal routine as much as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and any special instructions to make sure every pet feels secure and cared for. I create a calm, positive environment and make sure pets get plenty of supervision, affection, exercise, and attention while in my care. I also provide regular updates and photos so pet parents can feel confident and worry-free.
About: Hello! I'm recently retired from the Air Force, an avid reader, and a lifelong animal lover. I've cared for cats and dogs throughout my life, including my senior British Shorthair, Sasha. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I'll care for your pets as if they were my own. Whether they need walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply a calm presence, you'll receive plenty of photos and updates while you're away. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine. I care for my senior British Shorthair, Sasha, and enjoy building walks and outdoor time into my day. Since retiring, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention, companionship, exercise, and care. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. At this time, I provide care in my clients' homes rather than my own. I understand that pets are often most comfortable in their familiar environment, and I'm happy to maintain their normal routines, including feeding, walks, playtime, and lots of affection. I'll treat your pets as if they were my own and provide regular photos and updates so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
About: I have been around all types of pets my whole life! I have had cats, a dog, and been around all of my friends’ pets! I have also been dog-walking for neighbors dogs for the past 7 years! I am a full-time student in Indy, but I still have plenty of time throughout my week to help out! Over breaks, I work part-time, but I am still pretty available! I treat all homes and pets like my own! Nothing will be disturbed in your home, as I will treat it as my own! As for my home, my dog uses an electric fence, so I usually walk other dogs that hangout there because I do not have spare electric fence collars to use for other dogs!
About: I am very skilled with animals ! I’ve grown up with showing and raising different kinds of animals my whole life ! It would be a pleasure to help care for yours ! I’m currently a server at a restaurant , I work a couple night shifts weekly ! During the day I am open and free ! I currently live in a nice neighborhood with our own fenced in yard ! I also have a dog which is a golden retriever and she loves other dogs !
About: I have had many dogs since I was a kid. As an adult, I have had 5 dogs over the years. They have always been adopted from a shelter or rescue group, plus one dog from an elderly friend. I have adopted 2 puppies and the others were several years old when they were adopted. I love their companionship. I walk our current dog as many days/week as possible. She is my travel buddy! I have crate-trained the puppies and provided as much love and care as possible for our senior dogs, including providing medication. My animals are my children and are very spoiled! I'm currently unemployed so available pretty much any time to care for animals. Once I find a full-time job, my schedule may change a bit but if my job is remote then I would have a lot of flexibility to care for the animals. I have a fairly large fenced yard for running and playing. Trees for observing the squirrels! There are 2 outside cats that do not really mind other dogs. My dog has done very well with other dogs as long as they are not aggressive or too big. I also live in a nice neighborhood where dogs can be walked, including a nice, wooded area with a great trail for walking. I also live close to Eagle Creek park where dogs could be walked.
“Nicole did an excellent job taking care of our dogs. She kept us updated with message, picture's and videos, which gave us great peace of mind. The best feedback we can give is that our dogs absolutely loved her and felt very comfortable with her. We would definitely trust her again!”

About: I'm a recent graduate from IU Bloomington who studied Animal Behavior, with several years of experience caring for animals, especially cats. I spent two years working in an animal shelter, helping with daily care, low-stress interactions, and making pets feel comfortable around new people and routines. I also have clinical experience caring for a high volume of cats, including shy, sensitive, or easily stressed cats who need a calm and patient approach. I’m very comfortable reading cat body language and adjusting my care to what each individual cat needs. Over the years, I’ve pet sat for many families and individual pet owners, and I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s personality and routine. I’m the type of sitter who wants your pet to feel comfortable and cared for, and I always send clear updates and photos so you feel completely at ease while you’re gone. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine. My current availability is: Monday: fully free Tuesday: fully free Wednesday: fully free Thursday: fully free Friday: fully free Saturday: fully free Sunday: fully free I’m very careful about safety and trust, especially with cats who can be cautious with new people. I follow their routine closely, move at their pace, and never push interaction if they’re not feeling it. I’m careful about doors and any escape risks when entering or leaving. I pay close attention to body language and the small things that can signal stress or discomfort, and I’ll always reach out right away if anything seems unusual. I send clear photo updates each visit so you always know how things are going while you’re away.
“We cannot recommend Amy highly enough! She took incredible care of our home and, most importantly, our two pups, Remy and Pippa, while we were away. Amy followed all of our instructions perfectly and went above and beyond to ensure everything was in top shape. Not only did she keep the house spotless, but she also gave our dogs so much love and attention that I’m pretty sure they’re looking for her now that we’re back! It was such a relief to have someone we could trust completely. Amy kept us updated throughout her stay, which gave us total peace of mind. She’s reliable, caring, and detail-oriented—everything you could hope for! We’re already looking forward to working with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I have 8 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats belonging to friends and family, as well as raising my own 8-year-old cat, Juliet, from kittenhood and my 7-month-old puppy, Suki. I'm familiar with the unique personalities, needs, and routines of all types of pets, and I adapt my care styles accordingly. From shy and independent cats who require boundaries and space, to high-energy and anxious dogs who need stimulation and structure, I prioritize patience, routine, and positive reinforcement to make each pet feel safest and happiest with the care they're used to. You can expect clear and consistent communication, including photos and updates, while I'm with your pet. Your pet's well-being and comfort are just as important to me as my own furry children. You can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, cared for, and genuinely understood. As someone who works from home, I'm able to build my day around your pet's routine. Whether it's a last-minute drop-in or longer stays, I can be there as often and as long as your pet needs to feel comfortable and cared for. I care for each pet in the comfort of their own home, where they feel safest. I focus on keeping their already established routine consistent, their environment calm, and their space respected. I respect each home as if it were my own, follow all care instructions closely, and make sure pets feel secure in their usual surroundings.
“Courtney is an excellent pet sitter! She gives daily updates and responds quickly. She was also able to give our senior dog medication easily. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Evelyn was a wonderful sitter for our dog Matilda and went above and beyond in our home. She was communicative and sent us updates. She was very sweet to our girl, who is a 3 year old lab with lots of energy and separation anxiety. We felt totally at ease knowing she was in Evelyn's care. We will definitely have Evelyn sit again!”

“Allison stayed with our dogs while we were gone. We could tell they were exercised when we got home because they were calm. One of our dogs is high energy & we have been working on their jumping. We could tell Allison had consistent worked on their behavior while we were away. The house was clean like we left it & she took care of our flowers & brought in the mail & trash cans. She sent us updates, pictures & videos. It made us feel at ease knowing our dogs were having fun too. We would definitely book with Allison again.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Gadsden
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 1,464 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Gadsden. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gadsden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gadsden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gadsden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
