“Emily took wonderful care of our Fiona, providing plenty of updates to us while out of town and ensuring Fi kept the schedule that makes her most comfortable, including plenty of yard time, play, snuggles and naps. We’re so glad to have connected with Emily and will definitely reach out for future sitting!”

“Amanda is amazing! She took great care of our pups and sent the cutest pics. She left our house spotless and I just can’t thank her enough for the affection and extra attention she gave our 2 boys. We would definitely use her again and again. Thank you so much, Amanda!!”

“Meghan is the absolute BEST! She’s so attentive, makes sure she’s got ALL of your pets needs addressed, and sends LOTS of update pics! She’s been in constant communication with me which puts me at ease! She’s awesome and cannot recommend her enough!! She WILL be asked to watch our fur baby (and ducks!) in the future ❤️”

“My husband and I one hundred percent recommend Nishat! She was communicative, professional but personable, and very quick to respond when my husband and I were desperately making last minute sitting plans for our big pup Oliver and cat Dexter! At the meet and greet, it was immediately clear that Nishat is an animal lover and during the few days she took care of our fur babies, the pictures and videos she sent made it clear our little ones were in safe and loving hands! Thank you, Nishat! Whatever pets and pet parents you take care of are lucky to have you!”

“It was great to have John stay in our house and watch our dear Dora for a week while we were out of town. He kept us in the loop throughout the stay and was a great guest and dog sitter.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Alyssa! She was easy to communicate with, sweet, great with our two dogs (including a new puppy). She gave frequent and thorough updates with cute pictures. I felt completely at ease leaving her with both my house and my dogs! We would 100% have Alyssa back again :)”

“I can’t thank Erin enough! She saved me in a last minute pinch to watch my pup. Erin is very kind and took great care of my dog. She is punctual, sent me photos and kept me updated. It is such a relief to know my dog is safe and very well cared for. I highly recommend Erin! ♥️”

“Rachael absolutely crushed it. As someone with senior dogs who have specific preferences and routines (also are high-maintenance as heck), I’m very picky about their care when I’m not around. Rachael was communicative, gave updates unprompted and responded super quickly whenever I reached out. She was able to take on staying at my place with my 2 cats and 3 dogs on very short notice as well. I can’t say enough good things, 11/10”
“Jessica was punctual and easy to communicate with (before and during), sharing pics of our dogs almost immediately to reassure us that all was well. Jessica was also very attentive to our dogs' individual needs, including separation anxiety and caution towards new people. Thank you!”

“I can’t recommend Heather highly enough. She was so sweet with our dogs and very thorough during our initial meeting. While we were out of town, she stayed at our house and went above and beyond caring for babies and our space- she vacuumed at the end of her stay and even shoveled our deck, both without being asked. Each day we were gone, Heather sent us multiple photos and updates. We would book with her again in a heartbeat!”

“Kelly is a true gem! We are new to Rover so we had no experience and did not know what to expect. We could sense Kelly's genuineness and caring demeanor at our first meet and greet. Monroe was so well cared for while we were away for 5 days! Kelly went above and beyond in so many ways. Thank you for giving us this gift of time away with no worries about our little old Yorkie.”

“Lauren took amazing care of my Winnie and catered to my last min request. Not only did she make me feel super comfortable before but during she made sure I had constant updates and pictures and that made me feel such comfort! She gave me a play by play and updated throughout sending pics to back it up and I am so very grateful!! She took amazing care of my house aw well and made sure Winnie was as comfortable and having fun! Can’t wait to book again!’ Thank you so much Lauren!!”

“Miranda saved the day! I unexpectedly needed extended care for my senior dog. Miranda responded quickly to my request and was great with my dog. I felt 100% comfortable with her. I will definitely use her again.”

“This was our first time using Rover or having someone we didn’t know staying at our home and caring for our girl. It was also the longest we have been apart from Piper (a week). One might say it was the perfect storm for pup parental anxiety. Cue Ashley. Ashley came over for an initial “meet and greet” visit and asked lots of questions (and even took notes) about Piper’s habits, the commands we use, etc. While we were away, she sent daily updates, pictures, and even a few video clips. She asked questions if she needed clarification on something. She even went out to grab a few essentials we ran out of while we were away. When we came home, it was to a happy pup. Ashley had been here all week but the house was tidy and she had even washed her own bed sheets! For a first experience with Rover, we couldn’t be happier. We give Ashley four thumbs and two paws up. 👍👍👍👍🐾”

“Brittany did a wonderful job house and pet sitting for our senior dog, Sally, at a time that she needed a LOT of special attention after a medical incident- multiple pills throughout the day, careful with physical activity, etc. Brittany was flexible and had great communication prior to her stay. She left the house perfectly clean and we were so grateful to know Sally was well taken care of while we were out of town. I would highly recommend Brittany for anyone needing pet or house sitting services!”

“Lauren was an amazing and took very good care of our dog and home. We had a heck of a time coming home from vacation because our flights were delayed for 3 days due to almost 2 feet of snow and extremely cold temperatures that rolled in the night before we were due to fly home. She was so kind, so understanding. The one and only thing we were not worried about was Teddy and our home. I cannot say enough about how comfortable we were having Lauren here. Probably one of the only vacations i have been on in YEARS that i did not worry about my baby and that is huge ! 10 stars from me... Thank you, Lauren.”

About: I have worked at a Veterinary Hospital for about 5 years, working to keep their experience as comfortable as possible, along with growing up with cats, dogs, and farm animals.I do work another job so for house/dog sitting I would be getting to the location usually between 6:30-7ish depending on location, so keep this in mind when considering booking me While I work full time my schedule is set so there will not be likely to have unexpected changes giving your animals a good structure to work with I can come to your location to let your dogs out/take them for a walk, as well as feed them and get in playtime while keeping them in a space they feel comfortable.
“Cleo appreciated all the love and attention and I appreciated how dedicated Beth was (making sure Cleo had her meds on time as well as lots of love while I was away). She was super flexible when my plans changed and went above and beyond to look out for Cleo.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 714 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Frye Island. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Frye Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Frye Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Frye Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Frye Island. On Rover:

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
