Kathryn is absolutely wonderful with my two pups. She realized right away little Dukie does better with his “momma” on their walks so she takes both the pups together. Kathryn is extremely kind, trustworthy, and very good at communicating. It takes so much off my plate knowing I have a dependable dog walker/sitter for when my baby gets here, absolute Godsend!

Kierstin was great with our dogs! One of them usually takes a little bit of time to warm up to people, but she liked Kierstin right away! She was great with communication, prompt, and wonderful with our dogs. Will definitely use her again!

Adam did an awesome job with our dogs! Scarlett doesn’t always have the best social skills with new people, but he handled her like a pro and she warmed up fast. Luka had a rough start not feeling the best, but Adam took it all in stride and kept both dogs safe and happy. This walk was a prep for upcoming house sitting, and it gave us a lot of confidence knowing he communicates well, goes above and beyond, and really cares. Highly recommend!

About: I have years of experience caring for pets of all sizes and needs, including both dogs and cats. I am comfortable with different temperaments, routines, and making sure each pet feels safe and cared for. I’m most comfortable with small to medium dogs and well-behaved larger dogs. Pet care fits well into my routine since I work from home with a flexible schedule. I have consistent availability during the day between school drop off and pick up, and I enjoy filling that time with pet visits and walks. I mainly focus on drop-in visits and walks, following each pet’s routine with feeding, walks, and plenty of attention. I make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while you are away. Care in my home is something I consider on a limited, case-by-case basis.

About: I've grown up with vastly different dogs; my first was a grumpy senior cocker spaniel and my last was the sweetest, smartest Australian Shepard/blue heeler. I've also taken care of friends' and family's pets like my aunt's deaf pitbull and my cousin's St. Bernard. Needless to say, I have a wide range of pet experience. I'm currently an online graduate student, which means I have flexibility to work around yours and your pet's schedule. I'm available most days with available times from early morning to late evening. It's important for a pet to feel safe in their home. It's important to follow a pet's boundaries, I try to cater to their needs and their routine.

About: Having grown up with dogs, I understand how important they are as family members. As a graduate student living away from home, I especially miss spending time with my family's dogs. I’ve also cared for my friends’ dogs, so I know every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether I'm caring for your pet in my home or yours, I'll make sure they get all the walks, playtime, cuddles, love, and attention they need while following their regular routine to help them feel safe, comfortable, and happy! As a graduate student, I have class Tuesday and Thursday during the middle of the day and Monday evenings, so I am unavailable during those times. Outside of class, my weekday schedule is flexible. I have the most availability on weekends, and my evenings are almost always free for walks, drop-in visits, or overnight care. I care for every pet as if they were my own, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in yours. I live in a cozy apartment, but I’m surrounded by many dog-friendly areas and parks, which makes it easy to provide plenty of walks, exercise, and outdoor time. I always make sure pets receive the love, attention, playtime, and cuddles they need while following their normal routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. I also love sending updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away!

About: I have grown up around animals and have always adored how wonderful companions they are. I grew up taking care of family members dogs when they went on vacations, which gave me early experience with feeding, walking, and general care. I also have some experience with cats from having one when I was younger and helping care for a few friends and family members cats over the years. I am comfortable helping with basic cat care such as feeding, litter box cleaning, and spending time with them. I have my own dog, Hadley, an 8 year old golden retriever. She is very spunky, sometimes a troublemaker, but very sweet. She loves walks and I have walked her for years and really enjoy doing so. Caring for her has helped me build strong experience with daily routines and understanding a dog’s needs. Within the past year, I started working at a shelter where I take care of dogs, including some with aggression and fear issues due to neglect and other reasons. I feed them, walk them, clean up after them, play with them, and give them love and attention while they wait to be adopted. That experience has taught me how to be around different types of dogs, adapt to their needs, and make sure our furry friends are always loved and cared for. I take pride in being reliable, attentive, and patient when caring for animals. I always treat pets as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I look forward to the opportunity to help take care of your pets and give them the attention and care they deserve. As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows pet care to fit easily into my daily and weekly routine. I am available most weekdays, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, depending on my class schedule. I am also available on weekends and am happy to take on weekend bookings with advance notice. I am reliable with time management and make sure to plan ahead around my classes and other commitments so I can consistently show up on time and give each pet the attention and care they need. Overall, my flexible college schedule allows me to be dependable and available for pet care while still balancing my school and other responsibilities. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize their safety, comfort, and normal routine. I make sure to follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walk times, playtime, and any specific care needs for each pet. For home sitting, I focus on keeping pets calm and comfortable in their own environment, making sure they get consistent attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. For drop-in visits, I make sure all essential needs are met, including feeding, bathroom breaks, cleaning up if needed, and spending time with the pet so they feel cared for and not alone. For dog walking, I make sure walks are safe, controlled, and appropriate for each dog’s energy level and behavior. I also pay close attention to each pet’s personality and comfort level, especially with animals that may be shy, anxious, or require extra patience. I have experience working with different types of dogs from my time at a shelter, which has helped me stay calm, observant, and adaptable. In addition, I respect the client’s home by keeping everything clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. My goal is always to provide reliable care so pets feel safe and owners feel confident and at ease.

About: I’ve known animals for as long as I’ve known to breathe. From the time I could walk, I was playing and interacting with my family pets. From loving on our family black labs and cats growing up, volunteering at my hometowns local shelter, to tending to family and friends’ cats and dogs, animals have always been a passion of mine! I am available before 7:15 am, and after 3:30 pm. My work does not provide flexible scheduling so I do not have an extended lunch hour. I would only be able to check in on your fur baby twice a day. Weekends I am free all day, and could check in 3 times if needed I will care for animals in your home by being gentle, patient, engaging, nurturing , and playful. I will make sure they get lots of play and stimulation, love, and treats. 😋

Vanessa came over to walk 1 of my dogs (puppy!) during lunchtime. She also let my other 2 dogs outside so the 3 of them could play together. She brought the puppy on a 1-2 mile walk every day and tried to get his energy out. She was prompt and provided daily feedback with pictures. Will definitely book again!

About: Hi, I’m Jess 😊 I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and currently have multiple 5-star reviews from happy pet owners. I take pride in being reliable, communicative, and making sure every pet feels safe and comfortable while their owner is away. I’m especially available during the week for drop-ins, walks, and check-ins, and I’m great at sticking to routines like feeding schedules, potty breaks, and exercise. I adjust my care based on each pet’s personality—whether they’re energetic and playful or more relaxed and need a calm environment. When I’m in a client’s home, I’m respectful, clean, and treat both the space and the pet with care. I also provide regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to make the experience stress-free for both you and your pet, and to give them the same level of care and attention they’re used to. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I make sure I set aside dedicated time for each visit so pets stay on a consistent schedule. I have more availability during the week, especially for drop-ins, walks, and check-ins throughout the day. My weekends are more limited, but I can still accommodate certain requests with notice. I focus on being reliable, attentive, and making sure each pet feels comfortable and well cared for while their owner is away. I always follow each pet’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions the owner provides. I know how important consistency is for pets, especially when their owner is away. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and keep everything clean and organized. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and bathroom breaks, and I always prioritize their safety and comfort. I also provide updates with messages and photos so owners feel reassured while they’re away.

We couldn’t have been happier with Kierstin! She took amazing care of Luna our a Chesepeak Bay Retriever while we were away for our son’s wedding. Always on time, great with Luna and completely dependable. I even forgot to leave Luna’s food out one day and she figured it out and made sure she was fed. Talk about going above and beyond! It was so nice knowing Luna was in such good hands while we were away. We would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her. Thank you!!

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
