“Shannon was a great companion for my pet while I was away. She even accommodated me when travel troubles delayed my return home and checked on my cat for an extra day. I really appreciate her communication and readiness to help!”

“10/10 would let him come over again! - Cajsa + Freja, very picky Bernese Mountain Dogs 🐾🐾 Logan really came through for us on a last minute trip, a true godsend! Our girls require very specific care, and even a small mishap could have life or death consequences. As such, hiring a new sitter is always nerve wracking but Logan was fantastic! Super chill, flexible, understanding and easy to talk to. And our girls don’t usually favor men, but they accepted him right away. Thanks again, Logan, we’ll def reach out for our next trip!”

“Kristina is so great with my cats and I never have to worry while I’m out of town!! She has been so nice to them and it is evident in the way they have warmed up to her since the first time she sat for me!”

“Amelia took wonderful care of my dog Bailey! I’ll definitely try to book time with Amelia again. She provided detailed updates and photos which were reassuring to receive. This is the first time I’ve had someone take care of my dog and Bailey enjoyed her time spent with Amelia.”
“Laura is AMAZING!!! She took such great care of my baby while we were out of town! She sent us updates and pictures with every visit. She made me feel so comfortable and I knew we left our pup in good hands! Our dog is in the older side and has medications that Laura was able to give! She is so friendly Jewel had no issues warming up to her quickly! We will be using her often when we go out of town!”

“Jen was amazing with our girl! Our dog gave her a ran for her money, but Jen is super patient and understanding. She updated up everytime she came to see our dog, took photos, and it gave us a peace of mind.”

“I contacted Maria late on the evening before we were leaving for a last minute weekend away. This was our first time to use her. She responded and was so sweet to come for a quick meet and greet before we left. We knew right away that she had a special love for cats. She and our Mac connected right away. We loved that she shared many photos with us and let us know what she did on each visit. Maria gave us peace of mind that our boy was being well cared for while we were gone. She also kindly watered my flower pots for me. We highly recommend Maria.”

“This was Olivia’s first time watching our cats and she was seriously outstanding. She really went above and beyond, overcoming some inconveniences to provide excellent care. I highly recommend.”
“Amy is wonderful! She went above and beyond to care for our pets while we were out of town- she even brought catnip! She is communicative and kind. We are so grateful that we could get away knowing our pets were getting the best care possible.”

About: I’ve had dogs as a big part of my family since I was extremely young. Having dogs has taught me so many new responsibilities, and struggles between figuring out what they need or what. I’m currently unemployed and looking into just taking college courses and having a part time job. With that I will have plenty of time to spend with your loving pets to ensure that they are properly cared for, and get all the attention they deserve while you’re gone. I will always ensure that they are fed when they need to be fed along with, making sure that they always have clean and drinkable water, lots of time outside to get out the zoomies during playtime, more than enough potty breaks, and clean litter boxes always.
“We had a great experience with Neika as our dog sitter! She was always prompt and reliable with every appointment, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Her communication was stellar—she kept us updated consistently and made sure Daisy (Dog) was well cared for and comfortable the entire time. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

About: I've had a dog in the house since I was 7. I went to training with my mom when we first got him, and have helped train and take care of him since. I am a trusted pet sitter in my friends and family friends community to walk, feed, give medications, and house sit. I love love love dogs. I am currently unemployed so my schedule is pretty much open! Hire me for whatever time you need me for. I am currently very available! I will make sure to follow all instructions you leave for me to the letter and just love on your pup as much as possible. I know how hard it is for pups to be left and you can trust me to make sure doors/gates are closed and rooms that shouldn't be accessed can't be, etc..

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Freeland. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
