About: I have taken care of dogs and cat for approximately 10 years for family members. I also have 3 pets in my home now and volunteer at an animal rescue! I am currently working full-time Monday through Friday, but I’m available Friday evening through Sunday for boarding. I’m also available for pop ins and daily walks in the morning from 6am to 7:30am and evenings from 6pm to 7:30pm I have a nice big yard that your dogs can be leash walked in along with one big and one small dog available to keep your babies company. I also have no problem in crating your fur babies if you need me to as well.
About: I’ve had pets my entire life and have over 15 years of hands on experience caring for dogs. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. As a dog owner myself, I know how important trust and communication are, and I’ll always treat your pets like my own. I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive and reliable care for your pets. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting throughout the week and weekends. I make sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and potty breaks while keeping owners updated for peace of mind. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always make sure pets are supervised, secure, and cared for in a calm and loving environment. I pay close attention to routines, feeding schedules, and any special instructions provided by owners. I’m experienced with dogs of different sizes and temperaments and will treat your pet like family while they’re in my care.
“David & Lauren were great! The house sat for 5 nights and took great care of my two kitties. They were very responsive, sent photos/ videos, and even washed the bedding before they left! The next time I need a sitter they will be my first choice, I would recommend them to anyone.”

About: I have hands-on experience working in a busy veterinary clinic, where I interact with pets of all ages, breeds, and temperaments every day. My background has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, basic pet care, medication schedules, and recognizing when a pet may need extra attention. I’ve also cared for dogs and other animals throughout my life, so I understand the importance of keeping pets safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. Whether it’s walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, or plenty of cuddles, I’ll treat your pets like family and provide dependable, attentive care. During the fall semester, I’m on the go between classes but have several blocks of downtime throughout the day, giving me plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, feedings, and check-ins. My schedule allows me to be available mornings, afternoons, evenings, and many weekends. Because I plan my days carefully, I can provide reliable, consistent care and make sure pets get the attention, exercise, and companionship they need while their owners are away. I provide attentive, dependable care tailored to each pet’s routine and needs. At home, my dog is well cared for daily with the help of my younger brother, ensuring he receives regular feeding, fresh water, exercise, and attention. In clients’ homes, I offer drop-in visits, feedings, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship while owners are away. I make it a priority to follow all care instructions closely and keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment. For overnight stays, I not only care for the pets but also help keep the home tidy by cleaning up after myself, maintaining pet areas, and treating the home with the same respect I would my own. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind knowing their pets and home are in good hands.

I have a very flexible schedule in hopes of accommodating all requests. I hope to make your pet as comfortable as possible, so they don’t even notice you’re gone. I look forward to getting to know about their favorite toy or where they like to nap.
“David stayed with our pets (cat and dog) for 3 weeks while we were overseas. Now, we’ve used David before (and had NO complaints), but let’s face it, 3 weeks is a long time and Australia is a long way away. David was fantastic. We received daily photos/updates and had zero concerns while away. We left lots of detailed info and ‘what if’ plans, and David’s only feedback was ‘I love lists’. He is always open to requests and specifics without complaint. We had a wonderful trip without the stress of wondering how our babies were faring. Highly recommend David for short and long-term sits. Thank you, David!”

About: I’ve been playing, walking, bathing dogs since I was around 11 and I have watched my neighbors dogs since I was 16. I have also trained some of my own pups as well. I’m currently in college but as I’m doing online classes, I can watch your pets whenever I’m needed too. I can watch your pets from anytime to 6 p.m. I’m currently residing in an apartment around the USM campus with plenty of places to walk if needed to. I would rather watch them at your place as my manger won’t allow any pets.

And last but not least I have had pups of my own, 2 great danes growing up and now my own shelter pup😊. “Anika is the BEST! She made all my babies feel comfortable and took excellent care of them. She sent me a lot of pictures too! That really put my mind at ease - seeing how happy they were and knowing that Anika was there for them when I couldn't be. I 100% recommend Anika to anyone who is afraid to go out of town and leave their babies.... she is the best and your babies will love her!”

“Allison watched my dog, Jax, for 10 days while I was on a trip out the country. I was extremely nervous about leaving him for that long for the first time, but Allison was so amazing with him that I was able to enjoy my trip without worrying about if he was okay! She went above and beyond to make him (and me) feel comfortable. Jax is a pretty high anxiety dog and is quite large (75lb pitbull), but he seemed to be totally at ease with her. She left my house very clean and tended to my plants as well! 100% would recommend Allison to even the most anxious of pet parents like myself!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Freeland
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 277 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Freeland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Freeland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Freeland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Freeland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
