“Alexa was extremely responsive and professional throughout! She provided a thorough description of how my cat did while we w the vet away. My cat seemed very happy when we came back. Will definitely rebook!”

“Omg! If you have not booked Joe already, you are missing out. Not only is he a wonderful person but he took care of my girls like they were his own. This is my first time hiring a dog walker and I was definitely a little nervous with the idea but Joe made the transition seamless and stress free. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 🙏 Thank you Joe for everything 🙏❤️”

“Katie is awesome with Max, and is also great to deal with. We had to ask her to walk him at very short notice and she accommodated us. Her communication is always prompt and clear.”

About: Prior to moving towns I used to pet sit for all of my neighbors. Pets large and small, it didn’t matter but it was always fun. I’m starting my MBA next fall so anything earned on here will go towards that goal of mine! I’ve owned pets for over 12 years and have been taking care of others for 6 so almost all throughout high school and undergrad. I can walk multiple dogs at once, great with elderly animals, experienced with puppies, able to administer pet medication, etc. If you have questions reach out! Currently I am taking two online summer courses for my MBA with Sacred Heart University. I go to the gym 4 times a week and work drop in bartending shifts sometimes on weekends. Since I make my own schedule pet care fits very well into it because I can tailor mine to fit the animals needs! I don’t offer in home care at the moment because my sister recently got hip surgery so I’m waiting until she’s more comfortable to have other peoples pets at home. Otherwise I have two sweet dogs who have coexisted well with pets that I’ve taken care of in the past as well as cats they stay in their own room.
About: [PSA 1st-2nd week of May - limited moderate and no high energy bookings due to medical] Hello! I have years of pet care experience under my belt. Throughout my childhood I was able to grow my love and knowledge of many animals. I had cats dogs and small mammals like hamsters and bunnies growing up I got to help care for and learn about. During my teen years I helped family friends and neighbors with their pets including cats, dogs and even goats and chickens. With a solid foundation in feeding, walking, grooming, medicating, and playing with animals, I look forward to meeting and helping out many more pets throughout my twenties and beyond. I’m currently looking to go back to school, growing my expertise as a pet walker and sitter, and taking care of my own pets. I’ll have the free time and consistent schedule to check in and provide care for local pets as well. Safety trust and environment are a must when it comes to pet care. Environmentally I have my eyes peeled for hazards that could harm or cause illness in an animal, and remove those things to where they can’t be a problem. In building trust, I start every interaction with pet psychology in mind. I let them approach me with all of their senses first. Once they become interested in getting to know me, I can continue to show them I’m a safe person through gentle and secure actions on my part like walking carefully and taking softly.
About: I am a life-long animal lover. I grew up with dogs, a cat, a rabbit and anything else I could convince my parents to house! I've been riding horses since an early age as well. Connecting with animals has always come very naturally to me. I truly enjoy caring for and loving animals. My first job, at the age of 13, was as a daily after-school dog-walker, for my neighbor's Old English Sheepdog, Winston. That 30 minutes was the highlight of my weekdays. Animals and their pet parents have been finding me ever since! :) I work in the school system and my days end at 3:10pm. I am available most weekdays after 3:30pm for drop-in visits and walks. I also have weekend availability. My schedule will be much more open & flexible during the summer! During visits, I focus purely on your pet and his/her needs. Drop-ins are normally feeding, a potty break & fresh air, some playtime, water change, a treat (if that's okay by you!) and of course, lots of LOVE. I will tailor the play activities to your pets preferences and energy level for the best experience. During walks, I will remain consistent with the usual pace and route. My goal is for your pet to receive the right amount of activity & stimulation and feel comfortable and happy in my company. I will always make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and looked after as if he/she is my own. :)
“Pam was great, very timely visits and lots of updates. My kitties looked very content in their daily photos and I felt like they were in very good hands while we were away. Definitely highly recommend and will hire again!”

“Lisbeth is a great person with an awesome heart! She takes such good care of our pup. She’s great at communication and she looks out for our pups well being. Nothing but great things to say about Lisbeth. Thank you Lisbeth!!!”

Walks, play, and feeding times can all be scheduled to your pet's needs. My yard is fully fenced and large enough for fun playtime. My home is large and has wide space for indoor play. Your pet will have my full attention all day as I work from home!
“Kerri goes the extra mile with our pets, making sure all are cared for, fed, and attended to. She responds quickly and has always been available even when last minute. Couldn't recommend Kerri more.”

About: All my family and friends have dogs or cats and they are considered family just like everyone else. I’m very patient, kind, and compassionate. My dream job is a veterinarian Right now I’m in school but I graduate on June 25th and then in the month of July I work 9-12 at my summer camp so anytime after that I am free My two cats and one dog are super friendly to any new visitors. I try to spend as much quality time with the animals because they deserve it
“Sams our go to repeat dog sitter ! Always taking care of the dog. Couple times now we’ve used her and still haven’t even met her ! But trust her with the dog without any doubts ! Awesome job”

“Thank you Nicole, for taking care of our fur babies while we are away. Ella needs a structured routine for her IBD and you help her carry through this process. We are very thankful!”

“Christine has been such a blessing for us. We recently brought into our home a wonderful shelter dog who needed a lot of love and attention, and was initially suffering from severe separation anxiety whenever someone would leave the room. It has also been more than 15 years since we've had a dog and needless to say we were rusty. From day 1 of the meet and greet with Christine, our dog Dot immediately felt comfortable around her, our kids listened intently to her suggestions, explanations and stories of her own going through similar experiences. She's provided consistent advice and support (outside the formal drop-in/walking sessions we pay for). She has her own dogs and fosters dogs as well... and it's clear she does not do this for the money, but purely for her love of dogs. She posts updates during every visit, sends pics, cleans up if there's been an accident, and provides ideas/suggestions when she can. I highly recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Franklin Lakes
We had to leave town for 3 days and Joe took care of our dog for the first time, who is blind and needs injection medication twice a day. We did a Meet and Greet first, but there were still some challenges during the drop-in visits, because our dog didn't know him. Joe handled these challenges confidently, professionally and successfully. He sent several texts every time he came by our home to keep us well informed. He also sent pictures for our peace of mind. Overall, he took excellent care of our dog and earned our trust. I highly recommend Joe to anyone.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
