“Tori was great! Arrived right on time, gave an insulin shot no problem, and spent the rest of the time giving loves and taking cute pictures. We'll absolutely use her services again and would recommend to others!”

About: I grew up with a black Labrador for 10 years and helped out with feeding him, playing with him, and walking him. Over the past year, I have boarded a cute pug on several occasions. This experience inspired me to join Rover. I absolutely love dogs and am passionate about caring for them and looking after them in the best possible way! I’m currently an elite runner who trains 2-3 hours daily, with a flexible schedule. I am excited to look after dogs and show them a good time! I have a spacious, unfenced yard in the countryside. I do not have a dog of my own or any pets. I am reliable regarding following instructions pertaining to the dog’s needs.
“I was very nervous about having to leave my senior chaweeni for a few nights. Kelsie was so wonderful and eased my anxiety. She took very good care of Koda, sent me pictures and updates on how he was doing. I will definitely call on her again in the future!”

“Kaylee was very accommodating and flexible. She gave great updates and took excellent care of our furbabies! Would definitely book with her again and highly recommend that you do the same!”

“Mia was on time, followed instructions and cats immediately greeted her upon their first meet and greet who was a👍from the cats and important to me.She also graciously offered to water hanging plants which I greatly appreciated. No complaints would hire her again. Thank you Mia love❤️ from Bentley and Simba 🐯🐈⬛”

About: When I’m caring for someone’s dog, their family member, I make sure that I treat them as if they were my own. Lots of love and affection! It’s important to me that they not only get the physical care they need but also the emotional care. Developing a relationship and gaining trust with each dog is key. I enjoy bonding with each dog I care for. Their unique personalities are so fun to get to know and be around. I love the connections I’ve made with each pup! I have open availability. I currently reside with a 145lb English Mastiff senior and a 15lb terrier mix. I am comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and ages. I have no problem administering medication if needed. I would love to care for your dog!
“My first time ever using Rover and I was not disappointed. Kaitlyn was extremely knowledgeable about our dogs as well as very professional. Highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: 8 years of experience with birds, and 3 with cats! Some experience with puppies and senior dogs belonging to friends and family. I'm happy to feed, medicate and play with your pet! If it's a dog, I can take them on walks up to about a mile per walk. Past experiences with pets include owning budgies starting when I was 14 (sadly, my budgie has passed away since, but lived a long and happy life) as well as living with roommates who had cats for the past 3 years. Experience with dogs is more limited, however I do have experience with my family's senior dog from childhood as well as occasionally puppy-sitting for my in-laws. In terms of availability, I am between jobs at the moment so I am very flexible. I am available pretty much anytime but have a preference for weekdays. New to the area and searching for jobs, so right now availability is very flexible. Preference for weekdays and mornings/afternoons. Anything works though, just let me know! Will follow any special instructions, no matter how convoluted! My roomate's cat is very ritualistic with her morning routine, so I get it. I would much rather pet-sit at the client's house rather than my own, especially as I do live in a shoebox apartment.
About: I am the go to person when friends and family need a pet sitter . They know I will watch over thier pet family members with care and consistancy. I'm semi retired..so I have extra time to be if service to your pet...My schedule is flexible and I enjoy spending time with our furry friends. I'm willing to come to your home and care for your pet in the familiar environment of which they are accustom. Safety and service are priority.
About: I’ve owned pets of all kinds my whole life. I’ve been trusted with taking care of my family and friends’ pets since I was twelve. One of my cats is older than me and has been with me my entire life, so I know very well how to take care of elderly and disabled animals, especially cats. I’ve also taken care of multiple very energetic dogs and I know how to handle their behavior. I’m very open to long play sessions or walks, but if a calm presence is what your pet needs, I am very good at providing that as well. I’m very adaptable. Whatever your pet needs, I am more than willing to do my best to give it. I’m a college student who is busy every afternoon but most mornings and almost every evening and night I am fully available for your pet. I’m completely free on the weekends as well. Understanding the signals pets use to communicate is one of the most important things to me. I value your pet’s safety and to me it is very important to know what they’re trying to say in times of crisis. I also am conscious of things in homes that may be harmful to pets, such as certain herbs, scents, or foods, and I go out of my way to ensure that pets do not make contact with anything that could be dangerous to them. Whatever your pet’s needs are, I want them to be met and for your animal to feel safe and comfortable with me and the environment.
About: Biggest dog lover around! With 2 veterinarians in the family, pets have always been at the center of the dynamic. Your pup needs long walks? Let’s go for a stroll! Needs cuddles? Let me grab a blanket! I currently work a hybrid schedule and am home most days! My girlfriend is also a WFH schedule! We love giving your pups all the attention they need! We live in a gated community with a gated patio and fenced in dog park! Very dog friendly household and community! Our home is air-conditioned to keep our loved ones cool and comfortable!

About: I would be an ideal candidate for dog sitting and walking because I have years of hands-on experience caring for family dogs of different sizes and personalities. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, and making sure dogs feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, which helps me build trust with both pets and their owners. As a stay-at-home mom with one son, I have a flexible daily routine and open availability throughout the week. My days include staying active, going on walks, and spending time outdoors, which gives me plenty of time and energy to care for dogs. I’m able to provide regular walks, playtime, attention, and a safe, loving environment for pets while their owners are busy or away. “I can provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment for dogs in my home. I’m a stay-at-home mom with one son and two friendly dogs, so visiting pets would receive plenty of attention, playtime, and supervision throughout the day. We also have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and exercise, and I can provide a crate if needed to help dogs feel secure and comfortable during their stay.

About: Having grown up in a household with at least 2 dogs in it at all times, and usually another foster, I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, temperaments, and sizes, from newfies to gsds to king charles caveliers. I’ve helped raise, train, and care for them since the time I was able and am comfortable with training, walks, play, and routine. I also volunteered at my local dog and cat shelter for four years. Friends and family regularly trust me to care for their pets while they’re away, and I treat every animal as if they are my own! I’m currently working part time so so I have ample time to play and hangout with your fur babies. I only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to, so every pet receives the right care. I’m available for pet sitting on the weekends, and everyday after 2pm Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I strive to keep their routine as consistent as possible to minimize stress while their parents are away. I treat every client’s home with the utmost respect, leaving it clean and secure after each visit. I’m happy to follow detailed care instructions, including medications, feeding schedules, enrichment, and any household preferences. I’m also happy to send regular updates so parents feel confident their child is happy, safe, and well cared for.
About: I’ve had dogs in the past; loved them and walked them every day. I’ve trained puppies before on how to walk on a lease and more. I’ll be able to give them lots of attention in the morning and afternoons/evenings. I work a flex schedule, but the flexibility allows me to make my own schedule. On the weekends I’ll be with your pet full time. I have a fenced front and back yard. I will walk them and feed them on their schedule. I’ll probably love them too much to and take too many pictures.

About: I’ve had animals my whole life and have cared for them through every stage of life. I raised both of my dogs from puppies. One lived to be 18, and the other was with me for 15 years. I also raised a cat from a kitten who lived to be 16 and adopted an adult cat who stayed with me well into her senior years. Caring for my own pets from their earliest days through their senior years gave me experience with everything from puppy and kitten care, to medications, mobility changes, and noticing the little things that can make a big difference in their comfort and quality of life. Friends and family have always counted on me to care for their pets while they’re away, so I’m comfortable with a wide variety of personalities, routines, and medical needs. I know every pet is different, and my goal is to help yours feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I work full-time Monday through Friday (8-5), but I have a flexible schedule that allows me to offer several services throughout the week. Dog walks: My favorite service! Available most weekdays early before work, during lunch (for nearby clients), and after work. I’m also available for walks throughout most weekends. House sitting: I have the most flexibility on weekends, but I can also be available for house sitting during the week with advance notice. If you have reliable Wi-Fi and are comfortable with it, I’m able to work remotely from your home so your pet can enjoy extra company while staying in their normal routine. Drop-in visits: Available during weekday lunch breaks for nearby clients, as well as on weekends. If you’re unsure whether your schedule will work with mine, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to see if we can make it work! I believe pets are happiest in their own home, where they can keep their normal routine. I’ll follow your care instructions closely, including feeding, walks, medications, and anything else that helps your pet feel comfortable. I’ll care for your pet and your home with the same respect and attention I’d give my own.
“Isabel was a real trooper watching our little guy for two nights in a row. He is part herding dog and apparently wanted to control her but she prevailed and won the day and they had a peaceful evening. Thank you Isabel!!”
“Our dog had a great time with Grace! Great communication and appreciated all the daily updates. We had a great experience and will definitely request again the next time we need someone to watch our pup!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
