“My wife and I were so nervous about leaving our anxious cat that we almost cancelled our vacation altogether. Daniela put our minds at ease by going above and beyond with her care and her updates. We knew our kitty was in good hands when we got the daily videos of her playing and eating and snuggling. I can’t recommend Daniela enough - she is patient and kind and we felt so much better while we were gone because we knew she was taking such great care of our cat.”

“Lindsay is the best! She always responds quickly, is very attentive to my dog, Sophie, and is really helpful. I am so lucky to have found her. I have booked Lindsay several times, and she will always be my number one choice to take care of my fur baby. I highly recommend her!”

“Our pets LOVED Andrea! She is detailed, caring and sends lots of great pics. We are so thankful that we could go out of town and not worry about our four legged friends at home :)”

“We usually use a family member to take care of our cats. Due to a scheduling conflict we needed outside help. Sara did a great job! She was great at sending several photos of my happy cats. Sara was even able to see and get a photo of my super scared cat (Odie) that no ever sees, that just doesn't happen. We asked Sara to stay for an hour to love on them so they would not feel so abandoned. She did just that and we have pictures showing how our needy/affectionate cat (Loki) just crawled all over her. The area around the food and water bowl was left clean and tidy. The liter box was cleaned regularly. Thank you for attention to detail. If they could talk I am sure they would ask for Sara again by name.”

“Lauren and Wynn were great. I booked them close to my trip date and they were able to squeeze me into their schedule. Prompt responses during booking and they sent several pics during each visit. Would definitely use them again.”

“Christine was super helpful and lovely to work with. Biscuit really loved her and sent lots of pictures while i was away making my first time away with her as pleasant as it could be. thank you!!”

“Monica was a wonderful pet sitter. I felt totally secure leaving my dog in her care. I got pictures and updates with every visit. I will definitely use Monica again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Kristina is The Very Best!!! One of my dogs is very old, blind, hard of hearing and wears diapers, he had diarrhea - I’m sure it was a nightmare. I hate leaving him but I trust Kristina 100% to watch him. She cleaned the floors and windows, stayed longer than she needed to on the visits, and loved on them.... I’m very grateful for her and recommend her highly!”

I work part time as well as side jobs as I am home from college for the summer. Lots of free time during the day. “Kimberly was, once again, a lifesaver while we were away for the holidays! She cared for our kitties so well and even went the extra mile to help out when one of them began vomiting a lot. We will be booking Kimberly as long as we can!”

About: I walked the dog of the kid that I nannied for this past year. Woody was a shy and fearful dog who showed me the true meaning of trust! I’m currently applying and interviewing for part time clinical positions, however I would love to create a weekly routine walking and taking care of pets when I can! I pride myself on attention to detail and care when taking care of pets and people. I am also thoroughly responsible and loving when it comes to caregiving. However, safety is the top priority!
“Naomi took excellent care of our Kitties! With her knowledge & love for all cats we felt fortunate & confident with our Kitties in her care. Her attention to bringing in the mail & daily photos/videos was an extra bonus! 5🌟 all the way! We will rebook and would highly recommend!”

“Peyten is very friendly, responsive and flexible. She is great with my pup Luna! She does drop in walks and plays with Luna mid day. Would recommend her services and will continue to use Peyten in the future!”

About: I've cared for dogs, cats, fish, and small animals for 20 years. I am also a reptile owner and comfortable caring for some reptiles and amphibians. I am currently available full time for pet care, regarding pet sitting or daily walks. I am also able to care for and feed some reptiles and most amphibians. I much prefer to care for animals in their own home. I feel it is less stress on the animal and more comfortable for them.
About: Hi there! My name is Bri and through the years I have cared for a wide variety of dogs - family pets, fosters, medically fragile/complex, puppies, extremely timid, and senior. I took my grandma's 10-year-old dog in and cared for her until she passed at 18-and-a-half years old. I also fostered a mama and her six puppies (all had ringworm) that were each adopted out to amazing families and then I adopted the mom (Layla) who is still with me today! I work a hybrid job so some days I’m home all day, others I’m in and out. Either way though, our dogs can play the whole day! I am available for daycare and overnights. Excited to connect! I have a fenced-in yard and my sweet pup, Layla, to keep your dog company! I genuinely love dogs of all kinds and give lots of kisses, cuddles, scratches and affirmations throughout the day. Your fur baby will be well loved here!
“Thanks to Julie for taking such good care of our cats! She was able to get our shy cat to come out and play and cuddle. Consistent and above and beyond care for our kitties. Thanks!”

Emily is the BEST! This is the second time she has watched our kitties while we were away for over a week. They love her and it is so nice to be able to vacation and have complete peace of mind that they are in great hands. We appreciate the daily updates, photos, and Emily’s care for our cats.🙂

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Forestville. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
