About: Since high school I have had experience with normal pets to the exotic! I can honestly say that each animal is an individual that deserves their specific needs acknowledged and met. I do have experience with senior animals that need medication as well as special needs, there hasn’t been an experience that I haven’t learned from! I’ve even read books like Caesar’s Way in order to better understand my own pets and help them. I’ve even been known to be a bit of a perfectionist although that was in my earlier years now I can gladly say am a seasoned sitter! Please feel free to reach out to me before booking my care and I will answer any and all questions! Caring for your family member fits into my routine because at the moment I am a dog Mom of one dachshund with a good partner that loves her as much as I do! I also do volunteer work, which is extremely flexible. Aside from that a lot of what I do is online, which works out great when pet care is involved I will care for your family member by noting all of their needs as well as asking any questions I have about the environment if it was not already covered in our introduction. I like to take notes!
“Karlyn came through in a pinch with almost no notice for a series of drop in visits with Bella. My anxiousness was lessened by knowing that Karlyn would give Bella plenty of attention, and Bella was calm in response.”
About: As a cattle dog owner, I'd like to think I have a special set of skills for crazy babies. I have always had rescues and fosters in my home. I have been fortunate to work with foster pets from the Caribbean and Mexico as well, each of these often came with health issues. I have experience with pregnant dogs and cats as well! If you are interested in having your pet stay over, know I have a very friendly dog. She has both experienced having guests and foster pets in the house as well. Tolerant and obedient. I have multiple rooms and baby gates for separation and quiet time. In general, I am a very active and outdoorsy person! So i am happy to take the pets out to the trails or the lake! I live on 10 quiet acres with a fenced yard. There is ample space to play outside or be kept safe and warm inside. I work from home 90% of the days so I can provide full time oversight and care. I also work a job where I can take the dogs with me if you approve! I am fortunate to work from home. I have the ability to provide care all day and night for your pet! I walk each morning and evening and have the option to take your pet out for a walk or a play on the property in both fenced and unfenced areas. I have an older dog who is very arthritic so I am used to caring for the elderly animals as well. Pets in my home have their own room if needed. I have plenty of space for crates. I have a large gated deck and live on 10 acres on a quiet road. My own pets walk daily with me along my road which works well for easy elder dog walks as it is shady even in the summer. It also can provide great training ground as there is little traffic. For the high energy babies, we can play fetch or take to the trails nearby. I have always had rescue pitties so I am comfortable with big cuddly babies. I adopted a cattle dog pup who had clinical anxiety which has taught me how to care for highly intelligent, high energy dogs as well. Treats, love, and confidence makes for a happy dog!

About: Hi there! I’m Barr, a wife and mother with a lifelong love for animals. We have a sweet 15-year-old Jack Russell named Indie, and I honestly can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a pet. Animals have always been a huge part of our family, and our compassion for them is one of the reasons we chose a vegan lifestyle. I also worked as a veterinary assistant for two years, where I gained hands-on experience caring for pets and supporting their health and well-being. As a mom, I’m now looking to earn a little extra income while doing something that truly matters to me—spending time with and caring for animals. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I will treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I’m a stay-at-home mom, so my schedule is incredibly flexible. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to start doing this and would be perfect for any spontaneous short or long trips! I have a spacious backyard, but unfortunately, it’s not fenced. To keep our dog, Indie, who is incredibly friendly with all animals, safe, I usually take them for three walks each day. We shower her with cuddles and treats from my husband, our baby girl and I each and every day ☺️
About: I have taken my mother's lab to trips to the groomer as well as getting her to be patient during bath time. I also taught her to wait for her food to be poured before eating, taught her a few tricks such as, sitting, speaking, and how to walk beside me appropriately on a leash without dragging. I only work part-time for the rest of the year, so my schedule is quite available. I have availability Mondays - Thursdays all day. I can also do overnight stays as well! I have my senior cat roam anywhere in the house, he is mainly outside. However, due to his old age, he is fragile and I don't want to change routine too much, he also needs lots of my attention and affection while I am home. I am willing to come to you instead! reducing the hassle of having to drop-off!
About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, and even more exotic pets in both urban homes and rural off-grid environments. Whether it’s walks, belly rubs, or administering medicine, I treat every animal as a unique being with their own personality and needs. Friends and community members often turn to me for pet care because they know I genuinely love and respect animals as soulful companions. As an entrepreneur with a flexible schedule, I’m available for daytime visits, overnight stays, and extended care. I work remotely and manage my own hours, so I can easily tailor my availability to your pet’s routine—including last-minute needs or irregular schedules. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority. I offer a calm, loving, and secure environment where your animals can feel safe and at ease. I take time to learn your pet’s specific needs, preferences, and routines to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for in your absence. I’m attentive to behavioral cues and quick to adapt to ensure trust is never broken. Whether we’re enjoying outdoor play or snuggling indoors, I create a grounded and peaceful space for them to thrive.
About: I have loved and cared for animals my entire life, starting from a very young age. Today I share my home with 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 pet rat. I completely understand the worry that comes with leaving your pet in someone else's hands, which is why I treat every animal as if they were my own. Responsible, patient, and gentle by nature, I have a deep love for all animals Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I am available for drop-in visits and walks Monday through Friday between 9am and 3pm, and I also offer evening availability throughout the week. I keep my schedule intentionally manageable so that every pet I care for gets the time and attention they deserve. During every drop-in visit I make sure your pet gets the attention and care they deserve. I will take dogs out for a walk, spend quality playtime with both your dogs and/or cats, refresh their food and water, and clean up any messes they may have made while you were away. I treat every home I enter with the utmost respect, leaving things just as I found them
About: Been a proud owner of goats, cats, chickens, reptiles and dogs. I've had experience in the veterinary field, worked with and cared for livestock and house pets. I am currently working as a veterinary assistant in PV. My schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:30/9:00am to 5pm. If your pet is able to be left home while I work then perfect! Otherwise I am fully available for long weekends. :) In my own home I have reptiles and three cats and one older dog around. If your pet is staying with me or I’m keeping them company in your own home, I always am engaging with the pet. Any opportunity to play and have some fun, we’re doing it! If they’re more laid back and want to snooze next to me, I will relax with them.

“Sienna took amazing care of my kitties for the weekend and made me feel super relaxed and comfortable. My cats are very shy but she got them out of their shells the first day with her attentiveness and care. Sienna did an excellent job communicating throughout the weekend and sent me a ton of pictures of my cats which made me so happy! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone- you can really tell she cares deeply for animals.”

About: Dedicated animal lover, grown up with animals my whole life. Here to provide a loving and attentive experience for your animal. Medication administration, cat sitting, dog walking, or senior care, whatever it is I’m here to make your life easier and ensure the happiness and safety of your pet while you’re away. I’m currently working part time, so I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pup/cat while you’re away! I’m available for boarding anytime or day of the week except Mondays. Please provide any necessities needed for your pet! (crate, toys, treats, food). I live 10 minutes from the cutest dog park to get all your pups zoomies out. About: My whole life, my family, and I have always had pets in our home from spiders, lizards, iguanas, frogs, snakes, birds (including wild, pigeons), fish, gerbils, rabbits, cats, and dogs. I grew up being around extended family members who have had other pets such as monkeys, horses, goats, sheep and chickens, to name a few. 😂 🙈🐶🦋🐷🦄🐐🐾🐍🐸🐱🐇🐭🐹🐿️🫏 As a child, I would rescue injured animals and take them home and nurse them back to health so I could set them free or give them forever home, if they couldn’t go back to the wild. I’ve always loved animals, and my passion has always been dogs and horses. I currently have four kids (dogs) in my home ages 5 to 13 years and ranging from 8 pounds to 65 pounds. My kids and I enjoy having visitors so we can meet new friends and play. I do not work or have any other obligations so caring for your kids is my number one priority! I am able to give them lots of love and attention throughout the day. We spend the majority of the day playing either in the house or outside. Throughout the day, I spend alone time with each dog so I can get to know your dog and understand their personality. This is some of the best time of the day because this is where we build our relationship and respect. 🥰🤗 Why use Rove? Please see Rover Guarantee on the website or in the app. Rover also verify dog sitters identity and runs a background checks. Why use Tammy H? Safety first: I read all dog’s profiles prior to accepting any booking and usually complete a meet and greet in my home! I separate dogs during feeding and treat time, so most dogs who visit are crate trained. (food and treats are provided by the owners). My front yard and backyard are fully fenced independently. 4 foot and 6 foot respectively. We have baby gates throughout the home for the dogs safety. If your dog is crate trained, please bring the crate. If your dog is not crate trained, they can stay in the office/dog room on the bed or the floor in small beds.

About: It is very difficult for me to have animals in my current situation so I am looking forward to this work as an opportunity to make friends with animals that I would not get to experience normally. I am really looking forward to it. Thank you. I am retired and partially disabled so I don’t have a work routine and so I’m available seven days a week. This will be fun! I am very respectful of other people spaces and I’m happy to offer full cleanup services for any accidents or other things that might happen while I’m there.
“Sierra and Seth, both watched our giant dogs today! They did several drop-ins and made sure the dogs needs were very well met at each one. They are also very communicative, which was so important because we have a large dog with reactivity issues and behaviors. Sierra and Seth were very responsive to our dog's needs, and willing to adjust and adapt when our reactive dog needed different kinds of support. We would love for them to sit for us again and their help was irreplaceable!”
About: I grew up caring for household pets & greatly enjoyed it. I am a dedicated animal lover, with years of experience in dog walking, playing, and general loving care for friends and family’s pets. I feel strongly that animals need to get sufficient play time in order to feel properly nourished in their lives. I also have experience with senior dogs, dogs with muzzles & dogs with special needs. I have been house and pet sitting across the country on & off for the last 5 years. I am an entrepreneur & work from home. My schedule is flexible & I can almost always adapt to your scheduling needs. I am currently in between vehicles and relying primarily on public transportation & the local shuttle system at this time. Many of my repeat clients offer me a vehicle or bike to use during my time caring for their pets if it is necessary for the duties I’ll be performing. I have been on Trusted Housesitters for over 4 years with excellent reviews and experiences. I have also house and pet sit for many friends and family. Given my large resume of experience, I decided to start on Rover to get paid for the excellent care that I offer. While staying in your home, I will treat your home like my own. Keeping all spaces clean and tidy for you to come back to. If you have any boundaries in your home please let me know, so I can be sure to respect all house rules. I am comfortable sleeping with animals on the beds or off, depending, of course, on how large the bed is if it’s an overnight sit. I will enjoy exploring your area and take any pups who need exercise on some beautiful hikes and adventures!
About: My experience in pet care consist of caring for my own pet, family, friends, and Rover families' small to medium size pets. I have worked with a varying amount of indoor trained dog breeds. I have experience with administering and applying medication. As an experienced dog mom I acknowledge that I don't know everything and I am open to learn and understand all different types of small to medium size dogs and different ways of caring for pets. I highly respect each owner's way of caring and feeding their pet. As your pet sitter I will do my best to implement the same or similar feeding and daily routines to ensure they feel right at home. I cannot wait to extend my love and dog care experience to your beloved furry family member by providing a fun, loving, and safe home like experience during their stay! I am a stay at home mom which allows me to enjoy time with your fur baby and be available to play, cuddle and take on daily walks (weather and time permitted). I am available for dog boarding/sitting on holidays, weekends, & weekdays. Please refer to my profile & calendar for availability and pricing. My family home is located in the beautiful Sunset Village Oaks area in Rocklin and it is adequate for dog boarding/sitting. The home and well fenced backyard, each have 3 entries and exits in case of an emergency evacuation. The backyard offers plenty of outdoor space to exercise, explore, play and sun bathe with easy access to a beautiful walking trail. Unfortunately, the indoors isn't big enough for larger dogs and to provide cat care. The indoors living space, however, can accommodate small to medium size dogs and their crates, if preferred. Dogs are kept indoors during extreme weather conditions and only allowed outside for potty breaks. The best effort is made to take your pet on daily walks. There are 2 separate outdoor play areas should a dog be on the shy side. Dogs are fed separately to keep them from eating each other's food and treats, this is to avoid upset tummies and upset doggies. Every dog's behavior is monitored closely to prevent from anyone getting hurt. Safety is my #1 priority. I will update you daily with pictures and short videos for you to enjoy during your time away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
