“Phoebe house/dog sat for us. She took excellent care of Rocket and sent lots of pictures. She paid attention to all of our instructors and set our minds at ease that all was going well. Phoebe is a true animal lover and I won't hesitate to request her services again”

“Tabatha was a wonderful dog/house sitter for our last-minute getaway. We had very short notice to find someone to watch our dog. We reached out to Tabby through Rover, 2 days later she met us at our house and the following weekend she stayed over to watch our pup. She was kind, flexible, kept us updated throughout, took pics, and left our home exactly as we had left it. Our dog seemed to love her, I think he might like her more than us! She gave him treats and spent tons of time with him outside. I highly recommend Tabby for a stress-free experience, and we will certainly use her services again in the future!”

“David did a fantastic job taking care of our pups. They were so happy when we got home. He also sent photos and kept great communication! I cannot wait to book him again!”

“Gabrielle was great! She stayed at our house for a whole week and looked after my 2 Great Danes and chickens. She texted daily updates with pictures. Pups were happy and house was left exactly how we left it. I will definitely use Gabrielle again!!”

“Kyra took excellent care of our dog Cooper. She gave him her undivided attention throughout the evening. We are extremely happy with her and Cooper loves her. We will definitely be reaching out again when we need a sitter.”

“Ilene was great usual! Not only does she take extra care with our finicky pups, but she is very respectful of our home and always leaves it in perfect condition. Highly recommend her and I will continue to book her!”

About: I've been around cats and dogs my whole life, but started taking care of dogs around the time I was 12 and moreso with cats around 13. We adopted a dog when I was 12 and I fed her, walked her, bathed her, taught her tricks, played with her, we'd even cuddle! We fostered a dog from a hoarder and had another dog after the loss of the last one and I continued to repeat the cycle with this big crazy whippersnapper! Where I was working part-time just closed for the season, so I have plenty of free time for playing with your pups and kitties!!! When I'm not in school, I'll be taking care of my pets and helping my mom out with them around the house, she does Rover too and recommended I get on it. For drop ins, I like to meet the pet first and learn about their likes and dislikes and where to find all of their things. I like to ask questions on how to make sure they feel most comfortable with a new person and try to follow that advice to make sure they feel their best. For walks, I like to get an idea of where they like to walk and any behaviors I can expect while walking them before we head out on our adventure!

“Brenna was early and brought home made treats for Jaxx. She kept me updated through the afternoon and already agreed to help watch Jaxx for future visits and bring her Pup so they can play and interact which is great for him. I can't recommend her enough! Thank you again 🙏”

“We couldn't be happier with the way Eren and Luca cared for our two young cats while we were away! They gave them so much love and attention, and were very patient with our skittish kitty, monitoring him carefully to make sure he was getting enough food when he was too anxious to eat at regular mealtimes. They were great about checking in and sent us lots of video and photo updates, making it easy for us to relax during our trip in the confidence that our cats were being well taken care of. They followed our instructions carefully and left our house just as they found it. We highly recommend them!”

About: I've been around animals my whole life chickens, cats, dogs, ect and I've had my own dog for about 7 and a half years while taking care of other people's dogs and cats I'm pretty flexible with my schedule and right now, my current job schedule is 3p-11p every Friday and 3p-11p every other weekend. By the end of August I will be busy on Wednesday afternoons I have my own car so in the event of any mishap, emergency, or just a change of scenery for your pet I can provide that. I'm also very detail oriented so I ask many questions to ensure I know as much as possible about your pet so that they can be safe and happy in your absence.

“Alyson did great with our two English Setters. She sent us many pictures and the pups looked happy and smiling! She left our house is great order when we arrived back home. We would recommend her for your furry friends. She even fed our fish!”
“Michelle was awesome! Our fur babies loved her! She let us know when she arrived and gave them lots of love. She sent us pictures and updates of our guys. She was great and we plan on using her again.”

“Justina has housesat for us twice now (once for about two weeks and once for a weekend) and watched my two pups and cat. She’s done an awesome job, kept us informed, sent pictures, and left the house very clean. We’ll be using her again anytime we travel!!”

“Amanda is incredible! She cared for my pet like they were her own, kept me updated the whole time, and left my home spotless. I felt completely at ease while I was away. I’ll absolutely book her again! She’s trustworthy, kind, intuitive, and clearly takes pride in what she does.”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life! I have several years shelter experience, and during that time I worked hand-in-hand with veterinarians and dog trainers. I’ve always had a passion for dogs, and have two wonderful fur-babies at home. I’m currently available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday most of the day, and also on Friday after 4pm. Some Saturday and Sundays can be accommodated upon request but may require additional fees. I love to care for pets, and am flexible to meet each one’s needs! Walks, play-time, enrichment, and lots of attention! I will make sure to adhere to whatever schedule your pup (or kitty) needs!
“Very attentive, calm, and professional. I really appreciated that they were able to instantly get a long with my dog, who typically gets nervous around others. Excellent communication and frequently checked in with both messaging and photos. Easy to get a hold of, and I had no issues or concerns about them in the home. Would highly recommend and rebook.”

“Crystal was absolutely outstanding during her four-night stay caring for my dog, fish, shrimp, and home. My dog required extra attention—he had to wear a cone and needed regular eye drops—and Crystal handled it all with patience, care, and total competence. It gave me real peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands. She also went the extra mile to reposition my battery-operated Ring camera so I could watch him napping around the house. On top of that, Crystal cared for my four aquariums (not a small job!) and followed my detailed list of instructions perfectly. Everything was clean, organized, and exactly as I left it. Beyond her reliability, Crystal is simply a joy to work with—sweet, funny, and clearly a true animal lover. It’s obvious she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. I highly recommend Crystal without hesitation. She went above and beyond, and I would absolutely trust her again.”

“Robert was wonderful! Our youngest (and smallest) girl is very apprehensive about men but within 10 minutes of meeting Robert, she was already putty in his hands. 😍 We are very protective of our girls but we felt completely at ease leaving them in Robert’s loving hands. They were happy and content when we returned home and it was obvious they were very well cared for. Thank you, Robert, for giving us peace of mind when we can’t be with our babies!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fogelsville
This was our first time using Rover and boy did we hit the jackpot with Phoebe caring for our dog. She was on time, communicative during the entire house sitting session, and shared plenty of daily photos of our sweet girl. She made sure our dog got plenty of walks each day, (even in the rain), took her on a car ride (with our prior permission) for a little field trip to sniff some new things, played with her and gave lots of belly rubs willingly and on demand. We felt entirely secure and confident that our dog was in the most loving and capable hands and would without hesitation rebook with Phoebe the next time we need a pet sitter in our home. She tidied up everything before she left and even brought in packages that came during our absence.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fogelsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fogelsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fogelsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
