About: I have 5 years of pet care experience and truly enjoy spending time with dogs. I have cared for dogs for family, friends, and neighbors, including walking, feeding, playing, giving fresh water, cleaning up after them, and keeping them comfortable while their owners are away. I am patient, gentle, and responsible, and I always try to follow each pet parent’s instructions carefully. I understand that every dog has its own personality, routine, and comfort level, so I take time to make pets feel safe and cared for. Pet care fits well into my daily routine because I am usually home and able to give pets regular attention throughout the day. I can help with feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and check-ins. I try to keep each pet’s routine as close as possible to what they are used to at home. I have a fenced-in house with 4 bedrooms, so I can safely keep pets separated when needed. This is helpful for pets who need quiet space, slow introductions, or extra comfort. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully for feeding, walks, medications, and routines. I keep the home clean, safe, and calm, and I make sure pets are supervised and comfortable during their stay.

About: Hi! I am Nicky, I love pets. Right now I can't have a dog or a cat, so I'll love yours as if it were me own. Reach out to me anytime. I will be happy to help you, I work weekdays from 7:30am to 4:30pm, and we could accommodate the pet’s routine around that time. During each visit, or house sitting, I will make sure that they are fed, hydrated, given time outdoors and make they follow their daily routine.

About: I’ve dedicated my life to caring for animals and helping their families feel confident while they’re away. Since I was a teenager, I’ve gained decades of hands-on experience with animals of all ages, sizes, personalities, and needs. What began with caring for my own pets and helping family and friends grew into professional pet sitting goals of working for Rover and running my own small business, on top of my rescue and advocacy efforts. My experience goes well beyond basic feeding and walks. I’ve cared for puppies, energetic young dogs, senior pets, large breeds, cats, multiple-pet households, and animals requiring extra patience or special attention. I’m comfortable administering medications, following detailed care instructions, and caring for injured or recovering animals, so you can feel reassured that your pet’s individual needs will be carefully followed. I’ve also cared for horses, goats, chickens, ducks, and other farm animals and livestock. Over the years, I’ve helped animals that were lost, injured, neglected, or simply needed someone to care, including personally rescuing and nursing animals back to health. I have a special place in my heart for animals who need an advocate, and I’m committed to providing them with patient, compassionate support. I believe excellent pet care means noticing the little things. I pay close attention to behavior, body language, appetite, routines, and changes that could indicate a pet isn’t feeling like themselves. I take time to learn each animal’s personality and provide the affection, exercise, playtime, patience, or quiet companionship they need to feel safe and comfortable while their family is away. I also keep families informed so they can enjoy greater peace of mind throughout their time apart. I understand the trust involved in inviting a pet sitter into your home. I treat every client’s home, belongings, privacy, and personal space with the utmost respect, striving to leave your home just as you left it—or better. You can feel confident knowing your pets are receiving personalized, attentive care and your home is in responsible hands. I’m currently completing my Pet First Aid and CPR certification, insured and bonded through Rover (as well as having my own insurance through PCI), and committed to continuing my pet-care education. Whether I’m caring for a rambunctious puppy, a senior who needs a gentler pace, or a pet who misses their person, my goal is to provide dependable, safe, and compassionate care tailored to each animal while giving you the reassurance you deserve. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily life and something I intentionally make time for as I care for my own pets, as well as friends and family. My priority is providing dependable, attentive care for all animals entrusted to me. I plan my days carefully around each pet’s established routine, including feeding times, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, companionship, and any special instructions their family provides. I understand how important consistency can be, especially for senior pets, puppies, pets taking medication, or animals who may feel anxious when their family is away. Because caring for animals is a priority in my schedule rather than an afterthought, I can give each pet the time and attention they deserve. I also allow time for updates and photos so you can feel connected to your pets and confident that they’re happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. That includes feeding, fresh water, walks and potty breaks, medications, playtime, exercise, and plenty of affection or quiet companionship—whatever makes your pet happiest and most secure. I pay close attention to behavior, appetite, energy level, and anything that seems unusual. Safety is always a priority, including securely checking doors, gates, leashes, and the home before I leave. I also provide updates and photos so you can relax knowing how your pets are doing while you’re away. Just as importantly, I understand that I’m a guest in your home. I respect your property, belongings, privacy, and personal space, clean up after myself and your pets, and strive to leave your home just as you left it—or better. My goal is for you to return to happy, well-cared-for pets and a home that has been treated with the same care and respect I would want for my own.

About: I have my own cat Anya and she is one of the most important things to me. I’ve always had a special connection with animals. Since I was young, I could always connect with other people’s pets, many times they would say wow he/she never let’s anyone do that etc. I often feel that I connect better with animals than with people.” I work at a kennel in auburn ny from 8am to 10am in the morning and evening from 4-5:30 but before and after that I try to fill in my time as much as possible seeing and taking care of as many animals as possible I have my own cat Anya but as far as taking care of your animals it would have to be at your place of residence. I offer walking, sitting, overnights, feeding etc. I don’t board any more pets at my residence.

“Mariana took care of our cat while we went on vacation for 4 days. He’s a little shy but warmed up quickly to her, and seemed very content when we returned. In the past he would be very needy if we were gone for an overnight trip but he was perfectly happy, so it was clear he got a lot of attention and was well armed for. She also sent a bunch of pictures which we appreciated!”

About: While you're away, rest assured that your dog and home are in excellent hands... I take care of both. You'll receive photos and updates, and your pet will enjoy walks, fresh water, meals, belly rubs, playtime, and more. No stress for you, and no stress for your furry friend, who will continue their routine as usual. I would love to meet you and your dog, get to know their environment, and see if we're a good fit. I have lifelong experience with dogs, including my 16-year companion, Jack, now gone, always in my heart... I understand the importance of peace of mind when traveling, knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. A happy pup means a happy owner, and peace of mind is priceless. I primarily work from home... I create my schedule based on needs and have flexibility throughout the day... it is a no-brainer to do this. I only provide drop-in visits and house sits... for your convenience and that of your dog or cat. Peace of mind for you, and your fur baby.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
