“Jamie was such a wonderful friend to my sweet dog, Bernice. This was Bernices first time home alone for such a long stretch. And Jamie really went out of her way to comfort her. And she managed to get Bernice outside and playing. Jamie is truly the best!”

About: We welcome housebroken dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds into our home. Our home is 100% pet friendly. Your housebroken dog will have full access to our home and fenced yard. We have a kennel if your dog prefers to sleep in one, or they are free to sleep anywhere in our home. Your dog will be part of our family! About this sitter: Your pet is most comfortable in their own home. Some pets are anxious and scared when their owners are away. Having me come to your home to care for your pets will allow them the security and comfort of being in their usual surroundings and able to be in their normal routine. During each visit, I will ensure your pet is fed, given time outside (as needed), and given lots of individual attention and play time. Why I love dog sitting I've been an animal lover all my life, and in particular, I have loved dogs since I can remember. My family always had dogs when I was growing up. I've been married for over 30 years and we have had at least one dog in the house at all times, but usually two or three. About my yard We live on 7 acres. There is a doggie door that leads to a fenced-in area. There are also trails through the woods for walks and open areas for play. Additionally, we have a comfortable deck in the fenced area in the event your dog wants to lay outside while at my home. My experience administering medication Yes. I have extensive experience giving dogs tablets and pills, applying various ointments and creams, and administering eye, nose, and ear drops. My husband and I recently retired to Skaneateles, so we are home almost all the time! Your pet(s) will have constant companionship while in our home. Your pet(s) will have full access to our home; however, I have a crate if preferred. Only my husband and I live in our home, so your pet(s) will feel safe and no strangers will be here.
“We could not ask for a better person to help care for our dogs !!! Joey was excellent with all three of them and completely trustworthy. I would absolutely leave him with our dogs at any time !!!!!!”

“McKenzie was fantastic and took care of our two cats while we were away. She went the extra mile and even swept up the litter they were tracking through the house. We would definitely recommend her and will be using her again!”

About: I have 5 years of pet care experience and truly enjoy spending time with dogs. I have cared for dogs for family, friends, and neighbors, including walking, feeding, playing, giving fresh water, cleaning up after them, and keeping them comfortable while their owners are away. I am patient, gentle, and responsible, and I always try to follow each pet parent’s instructions carefully. I understand that every dog has its own personality, routine, and comfort level, so I take time to make pets feel safe and cared for. Pet care fits well into my daily routine because I am usually home and able to give pets regular attention throughout the day. I can help with feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and check-ins. I try to keep each pet’s routine as close as possible to what they are used to at home. I have a fenced-in house with 4 bedrooms, so I can safely keep pets separated when needed. This is helpful for pets who need quiet space, slow introductions, or extra comfort. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully for feeding, walks, medications, and routines. I keep the home clean, safe, and calm, and I make sure pets are supervised and comfortable during their stay.

About: I have my own cat Anya and she is one of the most important things to me. I’ve always had a special connection with animals. Since I was young, I could always connect with other people’s pets, many times they would say wow he/she never let’s anyone do that etc. I often feel that I connect better with animals than with people.” I work at a kennel in auburn ny from 8am to 10am in the morning and evening from 4-5:30 but before and after that I try to fill in my time as much as possible seeing and taking care of as many animals as possible I have my own cat Anya but as far as taking care of your animals it would have to be at your place of residence. I offer walking, sitting, overnights, feeding etc. I don’t board any more pets at my residence.
“Amy did an awesome job checking on our cat and chickens. She always checked with us if she was unsure about any procedures or issues. We were traveling to Kenya and she was able to put our minds at ease over what could have been a stressful situation. She communicated successfully over several formats including texting through Rover as well as What's App. We would readily recommend her to anyone looking for pet services and we will definitely contact her in the future.”

“Abby was an amazing caregiver to our elder high needs cat, Ringo! She did an amazing job keeping us updated, administering meds, and playing with Ringo while we were away. Our meet and greet went perfectly, especially given all of Ringo’s various feeding and medical needs. Her care and love of animals really shines through— in short, Abby is awesome!”

“Chantal did a great job caring for our cat and three foster kittens while we were out of town. She’s friendly and quick to respond to messages. We would happily book her again in the future!”

“Sadie is awesome! We had a little kitten who we were nervous to leave, but once we met Sadie we immediately felt comfortable. Sadie was punctual and sent lots of great updates and photos. We hope to book her again in the future and recommend her highly.”

“Emma is GREAT! She is very knowledgeable and friendly. Sonny absolutely loved her, and even our dog who doesn't like people came up and let Emma pet her. I'm excited that we have found someone to trust with our dogs.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 380 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Niles. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Niles. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
