About: I have taken care of animals my entire life, from dogs, cats and horses to turtles, hedgehogs and even chinchillas and am very comfortable and capable of providing the top level of care to your pets I work professionally as a barber on a flexible appointment based schedule that allows for me to be home most of the time with my children and pets. I have a fenced yard with two friendly dogs who are crate trained. My six-year-old daughter is very compassionate and hands-on with caring for the animals in our home. I have several years of housesitting and pet setting for others and have been told I leave homes better than I found them and come highly recommended.

Julie was fantastic! I have three big dogs and she took excellent care of them and the house! She came a couple times before our trip to better understand our needs and get to know the dogs. She communicated well while we were gone. She even cleaned the house! I will definitely be looking to work with her again!

About: Stay at home moms with three little humans and 3 pups. I’m originally from Oregon, my husband is from Tyler TX. We met in Oregon in 2016 while he was stationed there w/ the navy, we were transferred to Washington state and now back to his home state of Texas. I’ve been on rover since 2018, 5 yrs of dog sitting in Oregon & 2 yrs of dog sitting in Washington. I’ve built amazing clients and friends thru rover. Our yard is fenced! And we have plenty of outdoor kennels as the prior owner trained pups. We are outside as much as we can!! We take pride in the love and care for your babies. My reviews speak for themselves, your pets are like our own! We are home everyday unless going to appointments or indoor activists for the kids, grocery shopping or church. The pets are always well loved on and taken care of. They all sleep inside and can roam and go anywhere in the home as pleased. I watch a few dogs a month, some months busier than others! I always watch them at my home due to having three kids I care for every single day. I stay home 100% of the time so I’m able to work with everyone’s needs and schedule for their pets. Our pups usually wake up goes outside to use the restroom, come in for breakfast we wait about 30-50 min then let them back outside to play for a few hrs than come in for lunch and naps, another potty break/zoomies run around 2 & 4 then dinner and few hrs later, after food settles they go out and a couple more times right before bedtime around 8pm Our yard is fenced and we have yet to have any dogs get out or dig under fences. Typically we are outside playing all day with the pups in the front yard.

About: Hi. I'm a born caregiver and that includes pets. Until their passing recently, I was my housemates dog walker, caregiver, sitter and dog uncle since 2010. While they were her dogs she routinely joked she was jealous they were far more affectionate with me. :) They were fed regularly, walked, played with, I put proper meds in their food, and often they fall asleep next to me. I also was my friends first choice for dog sitting and even pet sit for a CEO and SVP. In this job, you're not doing this to get rich, you do this because you CARE for animals. Because I cannot have pets where I live at, this allows me to be around pets to enjoy their company as pets have a way of making me smile and enjoy life even a bit more. I will treat your pet as my own and send you lots of pics and updates so you know your furry family member is cared for like you would. I currently work as a video/film editor as well as animation and music production so doing this PT allows me to continue that dream while getting exercise and being around pets as I cannot really have them at my place. I listen to your directions and will treat your pet with the same care and love I would want with a pet if I had one. While others say one thing and do another, you really can trust that I'm honest, loving, caring. I can also help medicate if I'm placing meds inside their foods.

About: Hi! I’m a huge animal lover and would love the chance to care for your pets! I know how important it is to have someone you can trust with your furry family members, so I’ll always treat them like they’re my own. I’m comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities, whether they love to play, go on walks, cuddle on the couch, or just need some company. I’m dependable, patient, and will make sure to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I’m also happy to send plenty of pictures and updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and getting lots of attention while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets! I will always make sure my animals are well fed and happy. Walks, playtime, naps, all of it is important for the growth and to promote a healthy mindset for animals I have a fenced in yard for lots of play time, I have many toys for dogs or cats to play with and will be able to take them on walks often if needed

About: Ive had experience owning and caring for mainly dogs since early childhood. I was also the "neighborhood dog walker" for years as a teen. Ive always been relied on as the "pet person" in my family in regards to care, feeding and grooming. I have some experience working at a kennel, as well as 2 pet stores. Ive owned dogs for as long as I can remember, Ive also had my fair share of cats. Multiple animals Ive owned have had disabilities or heavy medication requirements. It would be a pleasure to watch over your critters :) (even some exotics like birds, reptiles and rodents) Im currently looking for some type of part-time job, but in the meantime, my schedule is VERY open. Ill soon be moving but ill still continue sitting! Pet sitting is my main and favorite gig of all time. Ill be moving back to my apartment with less animals but I currently have 6 dogs in my family. Im in charge of bathing, nails, teeth, feeding, and bathroom pickup. If meds are required Im usually the one to administer those as well. (Ive even got my own exotic animals) I usually watch animals in the clients home as I have 2 dogs and a cat of my own, sometimes that can be problematic depending on the clients animal. Ill live in an apartment with a fenced yard and a dog park. Id prefer to be a walker or an in-home sitter. Ive got lots of experience and trust in both. Id have to make some serious adjustments to have a new animal in my home.

Danielle was awesome! We had never used an in-home pet sitter previously but found it necessary when we had to travel unexpectedly. Danielle put us at ease and kept contact with us during our trip. It was so good to be able to leave the dogs in their normal home and not suffer from the anxiety they normally feel when boarded.

Meagan stayed in our home for 8 days with our two small dogs. We met with her before we left and felt very comfortable leaving them in her care. She sent sweet pics and videos of them which were really appreciated AND our home was EXACTLY as we left it when we returned! Thank you, Meagan!

Meagen was absolutely amazing with our 3 dogs! Her video message updates allowed us to feel comfortable knowing our dogs were happy and well taken care of! Most importantly, our shy dog who doesn’t even let family members near her, allowed Meagen to pet her! We were shocked but SO happy! Really goes to show how much time and care she has for our pets. Words cannot express how happy we are to have worked with Meagen.

FAQs for House Sitting - Five Points

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Five Points on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,008 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Five Points. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Five Points walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Five Points maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Five Points choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Five Points. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
