About: In the last decade+ I've taken care of half a dozen dogs and nearly a dozen cats for friends and through word-of-mouth, including a very senior chihuahua who was blind and deaf and needed diapers changed. I always had cats and dogs around growing up, including two difficult dogs from shelters who had issues. I live with an energetic pit-lab mix, and my parents' three rescue cats are still my sweeties. In the past I volunteered at an animal shelter, helping to socialize cats and walk dogs. I hike every day if I can, so if your dog enjoys vigorous exercise on trails, I can provide that too! I'm an adjunct college professor and freelance writer, so my work is part-time or sporadic, with much of it being done at home. If I'm available, I'll have plenty of time to linger and give attention to your pets! I'll follow your lead on what situations you're comfortable with for your pet, in terms of where I bring your dog for a walk, how they interact with other animals and people, etc.
About: I am a dog lover and have owned dogs for 15 years. I have experience with puppies and senior dogs. I can help with puppy training and can administer any medications if necessary. I would love the opportunity to walk your dogs! Can do local early morning walks, afternoon breaks, after work walks, or evening/night time potty breaks! I have open availability. Growing up with dogs, cats, rodents, fish, turtles, etc. instilled a strong sense of responsibility in me for detail-oriented and fiercely loving care for all types of pets. I have experience caring for dogs and cats under a year old all the way to senior pets who may require more attention (like medication administration). I have experience walking more than one dog at a time, as well as walking larger dogs up to 100lbs independently. I work full-time for the University of Vermont - while I do work primarily in person, I have hybrid flexibility when I am not meeting with clients and am able to step away from work when I want and need to. My late afternoons, evenings, and weekends are typically free and flexible outside of rest and relaxation! I am located very central to the University of Vermont campus, the South End, and the Old North End. I can travel by foot, car, and bike. My shared living environment limits me from boarding animals in my home. However, I am happy to care for your pets in the space they're most comfortable in and familiar with! I can come and go from your home for drop-in walks, longer walk outings, and overnight stays if necessary. I will respect you and your pet's space and belongings. Cleanliness, organization, and safety are of the utmost importance to me.
About: Fueled by a genuine and passionate love for animals, I was a small-animal veterinary technician for 9 years. This led me to earning a pre-veterinary science degree from the University of Vermont followed by a job working at Cornell University Veterinary Specialists' small animal hospital. I have since changed my career but still pursue animal care in my free-time. This includes pet sitting, dog walking, and anything else you may need. From dogs and cats to bunnies and birds, I had it all growing up and this pet hobby has transcended into my adult life. I'm confident administering medications, trimming nails, scrubbing your fish tank, or simply walking and playing with your pets. My friends, coworkers, and family have relied on me for years for top notch pet care. I currently work from home full-time and therefore have a lot of flexibility to come care for and play with your pets! I take my own dog on walks, hikes, or to the dog park every day and would be glad to do the same with yours. Ample exercise = a happy pet! I care deeply for animals and will do all I can to keep them safe, happy, and health. I have a fenced-in yard in the New North End of Burlington that is perfect for supervised dog play and exploration. We are also just a 5 minute walk from the Starr Farm Dog Park. I follow all leash rules and will never let a dog go unsupervised while playing with a toy or eating a treat to eliminate choking hazards. I am an excellent rule-follower so if you have a special request for in-home care, let me know and I'll follow it to a T.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
