“This is my first time using Rover & Samantha made me feel so comfortable leaving my fur baby with her. She communicated and sent pictures everyday. And I will be happy to book again.!”

“Kelley was a great babysitter for Darcy. She kept us updated with photos throughout the weekend! Darcy who is a year and a half had the best time with her boys. I would definitely recommend Kelley to anyone looking for a sitter and I will be using her again!”

“Caitlin and her family took care of our 4 month old puppy when we had to be out of town for a few days and thought a 6 hr. car ride was too much. We had concerns about boarding our little guy, but he did fine, received lots of good care, attention, and fun play times. Also, we really liked that we were the only boarders and our puppy didn't have to deal with a bunch of older, bigger dogs. We have recommended Caitlin to our friends and wouldn't hesitate to use Caitlin's services again.”

“Karen and Vincent provided a loving and comfortable home environment for our two dogs. When one dog unexpectedly needed an additional medication, they drove to meet us to pick it up. I recommend Karen and Vincent for anyone seeking tender loving care and compassion beyond the typical boarding experience.”

“Connie kept two of my dogs over the holiday break and provided us with plenty of photos and videos. I knew the dogs were being well cared for which allowed us to enjoy our time off. Would use again as our first choice.”

“Sarah was fantastic with our three dogs. This was our first time using Rover and any fears we had were immediately set at ease upon our meet and greet with Sarah. She is very sweet and loving towards the dogs. Her home is the perfect set up to safely and efficiently watch your pets. We would highly recommend Sarah and will definitely use her again.”

“Kristin took excellent care of my fur baby! She has a huge fenced yard that my dog loved. She was extremely nice and her home is clean. I will definitely use her again.”

“Boh had such a great stay with Alexandria! We loved all the updates we got during his stay and felt he was in great hands. She was very easy to communicate with and overall would highly recommend!”

“I am very happy with the care Carol has provided to Maya. She is very kind and attentive to Maya and her needs. She has a beautiful yard where Maya feels very calm and at ease.”

“A wonderful sitter! Kimberley did an excellent job keeping Yasuke. When we got home Yasuke was completely exhausted so I know she had a fantastic time with Kimberley! I would definitely recommend to others!”

“Geysi was awesome with our dog. She sent plenty of pics to show how happy he was. She also went out of her way to meet me to pick up and drop off our dog since my GPS was not cooperating. I will absolutely book again with Geysi!”

Overall very flexible schedule. Consistent wake, walk and feeding times. Lots of play time with us and other dogs (if requested). Dogs are allowed anywhere in the house and the yard. “Kordula and family took our pup into their home and treated her like one of their family. She sent pictures every day and we felt so happy and comfortable with her staying there. She was amazing!”

“Lisa & her family (and their own dog) are absolutely amazing! They watched our dogs for 2 weeks and I could easily see how happy George & Angus were. I'm always worried about people watching our dogs as they can be a handful, but they seamlessly blended in to Lisa home and family like they'd always been there. The whole family are clearly very experienced with dogs as they taught our boys a few commands to make feedings, etc. easier and took everything else in stride. They have a nice big grassy back yard where the dogs could get play and get their energy out. I absolutely will not hesitate to reach out to Lisa again as I can't recommend her highly enough.”

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Erwin home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Erwin.

Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
