About: Offering overnight & Extended Stay Boarding for Dogs and Cats – Where Your Pets Are Treated Like Royalty (With a Side of Belly Rubs) Whether you're off on a weekend getaway or an extended adventure, I offer safe, loving overnight and long term boarding for dogs, cats, and any other animals that might need to be looked after. From a young age, I was the little girl bringing home the stray cats, dogs and even the occasional blow snakes pleading to keep them (sadly, I was never allowed to lol). That early passion turned into a lifelong love for animals of all kinds. Raised in what could be described as a miniature zoo, I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, frogs, birds, snakes, turtles, hamsters, and even horses. So, you could say I’ve had some hands on experience with just about every kind of creature, and I genuinely love them all! Your pets will receive exceptional, personalized care, with plenty of love, playtime, and attention while you're away. I have a securely fenced backyard where pups can get some fresh air, stretch their legs, do their business, and enjoy a good game of fetch if that’s their thing. I am a stay at home momma (I do some work from home for my husband’s business) and I have a very flexible schedule, which means your pet will rarely be left alone and will always have someone nearby to go for walks and offer treats, tummy rubs, or a cozy lap. I have two animal loving daughters Hope (10) and Kendall (16) who take their unofficial roles as “assistant snugglers” very seriously (to the point where they will actually argue over who gets to sleep with the dog in their bed). Also part of the household is Buddy, our 9 year old teacup Yorkie. He’s tiny, but don’t let his size fool you, he will sometimes squeeze out a bark or two at new doggy friends upon meeting to establish his “alpha status” (it's a small dog thing), but after he gets that first initial bark out then he’s over it, and he gets along well with other animals, especially with cats. Most of the time, he’s doing his own thing (like sleeping on the back of the couch like a cat) and enjoying the perks of being a senior pup with main-character energy. And last but not least! We also have one small, two legged wild card, our 2year old son Christian (who sometimes reminds me more of a baby raccoon with how much he loves to explore and get into everything, including the trash can). He’s sweet and snuggly, and very smart and curious. He occasionally tries to sneak a bite of dog food or help himself to a dog treat or two when no one’s looking, but don’t worry, we keep a close eye on him (and the snacks!). While we make sure everyone sticks to their own food groups, he definitely adds a little extra character to the house, speaking of which (in full transparency) my home is cozy, welcoming, and full of love… and also sometimes full of toys, friends, crumbs, and the general chaos that comes with raising three kids and a Yorkie with a complex. So while it may not look exactly like a magazine spread as much as I’d like it to, it’s a happy, safe, and pet-loving environment where your furry friend will feel right at home. I understand dogs can get excited or overly vocal in new environments. I use calm supervision, structure, and positive redirection to help manage barking and keep all pets comfortable and relaxed during their stay While you're away, I’ll send regular photo and message updates so you can see how much fun your fur baby is having, and rest easy knowing that they are safe, happy, and maybe even a little bit spoiled. Being away from your pet is hard, but leaving them in loving, experienced (and slightly sticky or crumb-covered) hands? That should be the easy part. I also offer a $20 promo for all new clients that book with me for the first time if you use the link below: https://www.rover.com/sit/kellil04186 I work from home, offering flexibility to take dogs out as needed. Throughout the day, I have ample time to walk, play with, cuddle, and give attention to your pet(s). I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely potty and play for short periods. Well-behaved, house-trained dogs are welcome to roam freely indoors. Others may need to be crate-trained (I have extra crates available). Pets are allowed on the couch, and I will follow all owner instructions regarding feeding, schedules, and furniture access.

About: I have always been the go-to friend, when it comes to taking care of their pets while they are away. Over the years I have had experienced all sorts of dogs and cats, and have given them all the care and love as I do my own pets. ❤️ I’m a full time hairstylist who’s just wanting some animal interaction away from the salon. I have Mondays available from 11-3 to snuggle, walk and play with your fur babies. If I am making a home visit, I will spend 40-60 minutes with your beloved pet. Making sure water is topped off, and feed if need, while giving your pet undivided attention in your absence. If I am dog walking, my dog and I will stop in and take your dog for a fun jaunt and play in the park. (40-60 min). (If my dog doesn’t get along with your dog, we can make it just me.)

“Four stars for finding an alive and healthy cat, 1 less star for filthy litter box, bone dry water fountain and crusted dry wet food bowl and visit hours that were sporadic and disconnected from requested slots. Meghan might be an awesome dog walker and pet host, though I have not used her for those services, I will hesitate to recommend her for cat drop ins. I have used better cat sitters from Rover.”

About: I have 3 years of hands-on pet care experience and I’m also a husky owner, so I understand how important patience, exercise, and attention are for every dog. I’m comfortable with walking, feeding, playtime, basic grooming, and keeping pets on their normal routine. I’m gentle, responsible, and always focused on making pets feel safe, happy, and cared for. I take dogs out for a walk every morning to make sure they get enough exercise and start the day well. In the afternoon, I usually take them to Middleton Dog Park for playtime and socialization. I follow each pet’s routine and make sure they stay active, happy, and well cared for throughout the day. I provide a safe, clean, and pet-friendly environment at all times. As a husky owner, I understand how to handle active and energetic dogs and always keep a close eye on their behavior. I make sure doors are secured, walks are done on leash, and pets are supervised during play. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding, routines, and any special needs. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority.

I have been through an extensive training course with my dog so I can help keep training with yours. My schedule is currently pretty open so as long as I have a few days of notice I can help with your needs. Whether it’s just a walk or need an over night stay. In my hime I have a fence and a kennel that help keep my dog safe. In others homes I will accommodate whatever their situation. So if they have a kennel and want to keep their skills I will use it. About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a child. This varied over the years, but I have walked dogs, stayed at the owners house, or just letting them out to go to the bathroom. I have trained my current chocolate lab to the lovable dog she is today. I am great with animals and have had very little issues with animals in my past. I’m currently working a full time job that is a hybrid role that has flexibility to be fully remote. I have a very flexible schedule and should be able to make most schedules work. I will keep a dog in a fenced in area or always on a leash while taking them outside. I typical don’t have any issues getting a dog into a crate.

About: I have had many many family dogs over the years and have lots of experience with pet-sitting. I offer house/pet sitting, boarding, daycare, and check-ins. I have provided care for dogs of all ages, especially those with special needs and the elderly. I have strong bonds with most, if not all dogs I encounter and love having additional play pals for my dogs's to play with. I have trained my Shepherd as a therapy dog and she is wonderful with younger pups who need a little role-modeling from an older and wiser pup like my girl. I have worked with dogs in many capacities from therapeutic work - to search and rescue and much more. I am pack-oriented and would love to add your pup for the day or to board overnight. We love the additional four-leggeds in our home and look forward to working with you and yours. I currently work from home with my 2.5 year old pup. I am available for boarding if your pet is house-trained and walks well on leash. I find that my boarding pups do best if they can join our daily walks for mental and physical stimulation and would love to bring yours along for the adventure! My dog gets a daily walk, and your pet would come along. We live near a vast number of parks, and the Jordan River Trail which makes for great adventures! My dogs and yours have a BIG fenced yard and can go in and out as they please. We live in a spacious home where the dogs are free to play and enjoy themselves in a very stress free environment with no children or other adults. My animals are fed twice per day; once in the morning and evening. My pups enjoy several treats throughout the day - especially for positive reinforcement and training purposes. You can expect your pet to be treated like one of my own.

About: I’ve helped care for my parents’ dogs for several years and recently fostered a new puppy for three months. During that time, I successfully potty trained her, crate trained her, and taught her basic tricks. I also have experience caring for geriatric dogs, including helping them with mobility, administering medications, and providing extra patience and comfort. I’m confident with dogs of all ages and love creating a safe, fun, and consistent environment for pets. I am currently a medical assistant with U of U health but work PRN so it’s an as needed position. I am also in nursing school, and only have class on some Thursday and Friday mornings. That will leave me plenty of time to care for your pup! I care for pets in their home to help them feel safe and comfortable in a familiar environment. I follow their routine closely—whether it’s feeding schedules, walks, playtime, or medications. I keep things clean, give lots of love and attention, and make sure they’re happy and relaxed while you’re away. I also provide regular updates so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is in good hands.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Erda

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
