“My furbaby has really bad separation anxiety and Lisa was so sweet and wonderful that the next day he ran right up to her excited to spend another day with her. She's loving and will treat your baby like her own!”

“A big thanks for another fun day! My husband and I really appreciate Semran’s attention to detail and TLC for Manny. And we wanted to add an extra star for last week’s care!⭐️ Thank you!”

“Nervous about leaving your new puppy in the care of a stranger? Don’t be when it’s Betty! My Cooper is 3 months old, naturally shy with strangers, and normally suffers with separation anxiety. The morning I dropped him off, I placed Cooper down on the pavement to see how he would react. To my amazement, Betty’s kind spirit attracted him like a moth to a flame. He ran over, pounced into her open arms, and followed her into her the house without so much as a cry. When I picked him up he that evening he gave her a million kisses before leaving. The following day, he did the same but with even more gusto. There is nothing as comforting and reassuring to a pet mom, than your little one adoring their caretaker enough to happily leave your side. Thank you, Betty! Cooper has a new Grams. ♥️”
About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and I feel deeply connected to them. I’m naturally intuitive to their needs and believe that every animal deserves patience, kindness, and a safe place to feel loved. I’ve had pets since I was very young, and nearly all of them have been strays, rescues, or animals that nobody else wanted. I come from a family with a soft heart for animals that are struggling, so caring for them has always been a part of who I am. My journey with animals has been long, meaningful, and full of unforgettable experiences. I’ve cared for playful puppies, gentle senior dogs and cats, very sick animals, and many who came with fear, trauma, and trust issues. I’ve learned that every pet has its own story, and with patience, consistency, and love, they can learn to feel safe and happy again. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, elderly, or needs a little extra understanding, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. My goal is to provide a calm, loving environment where they feel secure, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine because I work remotely part-time and genuinely enjoy having furry companions by my side. My guests spend the day with me in my home office, enjoying plenty of attention, affection, and companionship. I have the flexibility to provide multiple walks, potty breaks, meals on their regular schedule, medication if needed, playtime, enrichment, and, of course, lots of hugs and belly rubs. Every pet is different, so I tailor my day to meet their individual needs and help them feel relaxed, loved, and at home. My furry guests get to hang out with me in my cozy home office while I work, so they're rarely alone and always have company throughout the day. I live in a cozy condo located in a safe, gated, dog-friendly community. While I don't have a backyard, I do have a secure balcony, and we're surrounded by beautiful walking trails and a large park just steps away. I tailor each pet's schedule to their individual needs. During the summer, we enjoy walks early in the morning before the heat sets in, a midday potty and stretch break, another walk in the late afternoon before sunset, and one final potty break before bedtime. Meals are served according to each pet's regular feeding schedule, and because I only work part-time, I have plenty of time for cuddles, playtime, enrichment, and one-on-one attention. My neighborhood is quiet, safe, and full of friendly people who love seeing our furry visitors out enjoying their walks. My goal is to provide a calm, loving environment where every pet feels safe, comfortable, and treated like family.
About: Hello🤗! I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a little girl. I’ve honestly always had some type of dog in my life. My first dog was a schnauzer, and I cared for her all the way into her senior years, so I’m comfortable with both playful pups and older dogs who need extra patience and attentiveness. During COVID, our lab had a litter of six puppies, so I have hands on experience with puppy care, feeding schedules, and managing lots of energy in the cutest way possible. I’ve also been around cats for many years. Before I moved away, my family rescued a Siamese kitten who still needed milk from her mother. We actually found her in a tennis court, and helping care for her from such a young age taught me how attentive, patient, and gentle you have to be with cats. Since then, I’ve become very comfortable understanding different cat personalities I’ve come across, from shy and cautious to playful and affectionate. Recently, a friend trusted me to stay in their home and care for their dog for a week and a half, and that experience made me realize how much I genuinely enjoy this. It did not feel like a job. It felt natural and fulfilling. That is when I decided to take pet sitting more seriously. I am also very active and love going on morning runs, so high energy dogs are more than welcome. I enjoy structured walks, playtime, and making sure every pup gets the physical and mental stimulation they need. I am located in a very dog friendly neighborhood with wide sidewalks, grassy areas, designated walking paths, and convenient potty stations. It is a safe and spacious environment for structured walks and comfortable exploration. Above all, I am attentive, reliable, and big on communication. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and cared for while keeping you fully at ease. I currently have a flexible schedule and can dedicate time to caring for your pets throughout the day. I make sure feeding times, walks, playtime, and check-ins fit naturally into my routine so your pet receives consistent care and attention. I’m reliable with schedules and always prioritize your pet’s comfort and routine while you’re away. Safety and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and routines. I pay attention to pets’ behavior and needs to make sure they feel secure and relaxed. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I maintain a calm and clean environment where pets can feel safe and cared for.
About: Hi! I’m Kendra, a lifelong animal lover who works from home, which means your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, so I take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and temperaments, including my own Goldendoodle, Leo. Whether your pup loves long walks, playing, cuddling on the couch, or simply relaxing in a calm environment, I’ll tailor their stay to their individual needs. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is in good hands. My goal is to provide a clean, safe, and loving home where your dog feels like part of the family. I work from home Monday through Friday, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, supervision, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. My schedule is flexible, making it easy to accommodate your pet’s routine. Whether your dog enjoys relaxing around the house, playing, or going on walks, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and right at home during their stay. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a clean, pet-friendly home where dogs are treated like family. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, and any special needs before their stay. My Toy Goldendoodle, Leo, is friendly and loves meeting new friends, but introductions are always done slowly and safely to make sure everyone is comfortable. I also provide regular photo and video updates, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
“Anyely and family... Thank you for the report card and several photos through out the day. Thank you for taking good care of Astro as always. We appreciate you so much.”

“Buddy had a wonderful time and mom was worry free. Jennifer and her husband are wonderful. I trust them 100 percent. Reliable and keeps us informed. They are the best! Thank you so much.”

About: I've always had a dog in the house since I was born, but I also have vast experience taking care of the pets of immediate family, as well as a lot of my extended family. I've taken care of dogs, cats, reptiles, amphibians, and fish for as long as I can remember. Currently, I'm studying wildlife and animal care at school and have experience with internships where I handle animals. I'm currently working part time, but only around 4-8 hours a week, so I have lots of time to take care of pets. I'm at home for the majority of the day, and I often take long walks during the day that I would love to bring dogs on. I also have a car and everything in my life is in close proximity to my house, so if I'm ever not at home I can come right back very soon. I have a fenced yard and several parks nearby my house that I can take dogs to. I have no dogs in the house but I'm happy to board many if necessary. I can crate dogs if necessary but I don't have to, they're allowed to have free reign of the house if the owner is okay with it. Dogs are allowed on the furniture but again if an owner requests they not do that then that's great too!
About: I once fed a stray dog for a year. I love cats and dogs very much, and so do my families. It’s not easy to be a pet keeper. You have to get up early to walk your dog. I'm a student now, and I'm a reserve navy.so my hours are flexible. I usually get up at 7 and available for the whole day or overnight. We have yard and fenced and pool of available for pet. There is a park very near my home and usually less people all the day

“Jacob was very accommodating and quick to answer any of my questions. Very easy Going and has a nice house to accommodate my golden retriever. Highly recommended services. He is kind, professional and flexible.”

“Marielle was amazing. I'm pretty sure my dog jackson had a hard time deciding which home he preferred by the time we left. She's a true dog lover, flexible, and trustworthy. She will be my first choice when visiting san diego.”

About: I've been caring for fur babies since I was 10 — first informally for friends and family, and over the years my friends have come to rely on me every time they travel, trusting me with the pets they love most. That's the same care I bring to every dog I sit for: walking, boarding, sitting, and drop-in visits, all handled with genuine love and attentiveness. I'm comfortable with dogs of all temperaments and energy levels, and I treat every pup like they're my own. Your dog won't just be looked after, they'll be adored. I was laid off last year, and since then I've been dog sitting in my neighborhood in NYC. Now that I've relocated to San Diego, I'm looking to bring my services here. I'm home all day, every day, so I have plenty of time and attention to give — especially for dogs who need extra activity and frequent walks. My apartment complex also has a gated dog park, which is a great space for exercise and playtime. Pet care isn't squeezed into my week, it's a core part of it. Every dog in my care is treated like family. I'm home all day, so pets get consistent attention rather than being left alone for long stretches. They'll have plenty of walks, playtime, and one-on-one time throughout the day. I pay close attention to each dog's individual needs and routine, whether that's feeding schedules, medication, or just knowing when they need extra calm or extra activity. My goal is always for pets to feel comfortable, safe, and genuinely loved while their owners are away.
“Oliver enjoyed his time at Doug and Marisol’s home doggie daycare this week! I felt relieved knowing my little guy was being well-cared for while I was at work. They provided Oliver with a cozy environment and his prescription food & treats.”

About: I’ve loved dogs ever since I was young. Ever since I was a teenager I enjoyed walking my family, friends, and neighbors’ dogs. I have experience with dogs of all ages and many different breeds I am available to walk, board, or visit your dog all days of the week. I prefer to be notified at least a day in advance so I can properly schedule and prepare to care for your dog. I have a large backyard with clear space for the dogs to around and play. There is open space in the living room for dogs to relax, with room for dog beds or anything else they arrive with. This space is gated off from the rest of the house for safety. There’s enough room to separate the dogs from one another if they need space.
“Berenice is amazing! She took great care of my pup and I am so grateful to her! He enjoyed spending time at her house with other doggies and her kids. She sent me photos and the report. She also got me a really nice card with his paw for Mother's Day! What a great thought! She just went above and beyond. I would recommend her for sure and will be using her services again in the future when in town.”

“We couldn't have been happier with everything, from how quick and responsive Erica was to our first inquiry, to her professionalism asking questions about our two dogs and their needs. Our pooches came back calm and happy. Thank you again, Erica!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 2,519 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Engineer Springs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Engineer Springs commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,519 sitters in Engineer Springs, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
