About: I am a nature and animal enthusiast. I began caring for animals in high school giving me 10+ years of experience taking care of animals. From house sitting, dog walking to administering medications, I have had the opportunity to care for so many different animals. I have taken care of pets in the comfort of their own home which always seems like the most stress-free option. I love to take pictures of sweet squishy faces. I am available most of the day/night to care for your pets in your home to best meet the needs of both the owner and pet. I have one dog (Banjo) who will be cared for by my husband so I can focus on your pets. With my background in veterinary clinics, safety is my number one priority. I make sure pets are safe in the home, that they are maintained on a secure leash during walks, avoid encounters with other dogs/animals during walks, I check to make sure there is no access to items that could harm them, and pay attention to overall general health. I believe for the most part the safest environment for a pet is in their own home where they are comfortable.
“Mona is amazing. She’s got a great intuition about animals, and a passion for them. She was super patient with our little lady, who has a lot of baggage and trauma and takes a while to open up to new folks. She is super responsive to texts and emails and sent us lots of updates and photos. She also took great care of our home. I highly recommend her and will definitely have her back to sit our home and pup!”

“Bianca was outstanding! She house/pet sat for our two dogs while we were away for 10 days. We received daily updates and photos. She let us know details about the dogs and our house was perfect when we returned. Her experience with animals and understanding of behaviors is clear. Would highly recommend her!!”

About: I offer thoughtful, detail oriented pet care with a strong focus on consistency, safety, and communication. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets, managing routines, and providing a calm presence for animals that may be anxious or sensitive to change. I am also comfortable with medication management. I take the responsibility of being in someone’s home seriously and aim to create a seamless experience both for pets and their owners. You can expect clear communication, reliability, and a high level of respect for your space. My dog, Tessie, is so important to me so I treat your pets with as much love and care that I would want her to have. My work experience includes firefighter/paramedic, ER nurse, clinic work, and am certified in Pet First Aid. I am the Clinical Director at a local free clinic. This allows me to have flexible but predictable hours each week. Because of this I can provide consistent, punctual visits with compassionate care for your pets. For house sitting I can make mid day visits so that your pets are not alone for longer than needed. I cater each experience to the needs of you and your pet. I prefer to have clear communication of your preferences so that I can ensure that you are as happy with the visit as your pets are. For house sitting, I stay in the home so pets can remain in their familiar space with minimal disruption. I follow their usual feeding, walking, and medication schedules, provide companionship throughout the day and evening, and ensure the home is cared for as well (lights, plants, mail, basic tidiness). My goal is to maintain a calm, consistent presence so pets feel safe and relaxed while their owners are away. For in home drop-ins, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter box or yard clean up, medications if needed, and quality time with each pet. I tailor each visit to the pet’s energy level and personality including playtime, short walks, or quiet companionship. I also provide updates after each visit so owners feel connected and reassured. For dog walking, I focus on safe, structured walks that match your dog’s pace and needs. I prioritize leash safety, positive reinforcement, and a calm walking experience. Walks can include neighborhood routes or familiar areas your dog enjoys, or local dog parks, and I always ensure they return home settled, hydrated, and comfortable.
“Karen-Joyce did a wonderful job pet sitting for us on a long weekend trip! She was very detailed in learning about our needs beforehand, and very communicative. It's easy to tell how great she is with dogs. While this was our first time using Karen-Joyce as a sitter, we immediately felt confident after our meet & greet and had no hesitations. She left our house clean and the dogs were happy and well cared for! Definitely recommend :)”

“Vivienne was AMAZING! I was very glad when she agreed to a meet and greet and got to meet my pup and get a rundown of the house and our routine, and she delivered perfectly. I could tell my pup felt right at home with her, and was very happy to go with her on a coffee run. She took great care of her, we’ll definitely be rebooking.”

“After needing to take an unexpected trip out of town, I was lucky Tara was willing to watch my critters last minute. She was super understanding about everything and they were super happy and healthy when I came home.”

“David is simply the best! We came to Santa Fe from Denver for a few days (Monday-Thursday) and we have 7 and 8 year old Border Terriers. Our male has epilepsy, and we do not leave him alone, so we hired David to watch them. David came on Monday night, Tuesday day, Tuesday night, Wednesday day and Wednesday night so that we could go out to dinner, go to the spa, etc. He stayed for several hours at a time, which was a big ask, especially since he has his own pup, but we couldn't ask for a better experience with him. He arrived on time or early, walked them, played with them, administered medications, gave them snacks and loved them! He sent us lots of videos and photos and updates, so we knew they were being taken care of and meds given, etc. He is also just a lovely person, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. He has a calming energy which was great for my boy with epilepsy. We won't hesitate to use him again if we go back to Santa Fe. Thank you so much David!”

“Steven was wonderful! He took the time to meet and ask all about Stella’s little quirks prior to me leaving.. and provided me all the updates when I was gone. I came back to a very happy pup!!”

About: I volunteered for the internship at Save A Dog in Sudbury, Mass., back in 2020. Helped them clean and gave plenty of lovely attention. I also dog-sat several dogs for four years during college and experienced house-sitting for a lovely couple for three weeks in summer 2024. I love doing my job as I treat them as my own. I will make sure dogs have a blast time and are loved while they are with me. I over-communicate by sending updated texts and pictures, or videos. I would say you come to the right dog sitter here who loves dogs like crazy. Since I got a full-time job on night shifts, I am only available during the weekdays until around 2 and weekends (sometimes for the week!) for any service, I will have enough time to adore and care for your pets. Unless you are okay with leaving your dog with my dog, while I go away for work and my partner will be home at 4:30-5 pm so he can take care of the dogs too (he is also a Rover sitter!) - that is cool with me too. My dog would love the company! I would be more than happy to comply with your request as well. I also have my sweetest 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier and 1-year-old dachshund mix who loves playing or cuddling with others. I am more than happy to accommodate your pets smoothly if needed. Both of my pups are social butterflies! Let me know if you have more questions. I know trust may not be easy, but trust is my priority for our relationship. I am an open book, so do not hesitate to ask anything about me.
“Lydia and her friend were amazing! She was the sweetest with my two dogs and left the house super clean. Lydia is flexible, friendly, sent us pics and kept me updated on everything. You’ll be so lucky to have her caring for your babies!”

About: I traveled in a van for many years and before I got Richard, I cared for over twenty dogs of all sizes and temperaments all over the country. I still travel by van and offer in-home pet sitting anywhere around the American West. When I lived in Tucson, I volunteered at the shelter and fostered dogs. I will work with the schedule and routines that your dog is used to so they feel safe and secure while you’re away. I’m also an avid hiker and would love to take your pups with me on outdoor adventures if they are up for it. Also happy to take short, gentle walks. I take excellent care of the spaces where I pet sit. I will clean before I leave and will respect your privacy or any of your preferences that we discuss ahead of time.
“Chase was fabulous. He took great care of our dog and home, and sent us so many wonderful photos. Having a dog sitter hasn't always been easy for our dog but Chase made it effortless. We will definitely utilize his services again. Peace of mind is priceless. Many thanks!”

About: I’ve been trusted to take care of a family member’s dogs for at least ten years. This involved caring for three dogs in the same home for the bulk of that time. I have been her go-to dog sitter and someone that can do a quick drop in during long work days. In the past few years I have gotten a dog of my own, and I primarily look after him during the day while my family members are busy with other responsibilities. I’m on the job hunt, so I currently have a very flexible schedule! On weekdays I won’t be able to stay full time at a house (as I have responsibilities at home to take care of), but I can visit frequently and stay for a few hours at a time if need be. So long as I can pop back home every now and then, I’m available when you need me! I will treat your dog and your home with the utmost care. I will follow whatever information and instruction is given to me. I will be as attentive as I can be to the dog’s needs and be sure to give them plenty of pets (only if they want of course)!
“Jerrett was so great! Zelda loved him, he followed ALL of our instructions, and the house looked perfect when we returned. Would absolutely recommend as a sitter, and I will definitely book with him again.”

“Lis was a godsend for us. She's watched our babies three times now. We found her a week before we were heading out of town. We had just moved from AZ to NM and we didn't want to leave our animals in a strange home while we were away. Lis jumped at the chance to watch our 4 animals (2 cats and 2 dogs) and not to mention in a home that was filled with boxes and only an air mattress for her to use while she stayed overnight with our fur babies. But our first experiences with Lis don't speak volumes about the help she provided us when we had an emergency situation. With no notice, we needed Lis to stay with our animals for a couple of days. She immediately made room in her busy schedule to help us. If you're looking for a phenomenal, trustworthy pet sitter who truly treats your pets like they are hers - Lis is your perfect find. Thank you for everything you've done for us, Lis! I truly cannot begin to express how grateful I am for you.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - El Valle de Arroyo Seco
Ashley was wonderful with our pups this weekend! She took such great care of them from start to finish. Communication was excellent (and great photos, too). She kept us updated and even reached out right away when one of our dogs accidentally got into one of our plants. She was proactive enough to contact Rover support for guidance, which we really appreciated. (Thankfully, everything has been totally fine!) It’s clear she genuinely cares. She’s incredibly sweet, attentive, and thoughtful- and our dogs absolutely adore her. You can tell they feel comfortable and happy around her, which means everything to us. We’re so grateful to have found her and would happily have her dog sit and house sit again. Highly recommend Ashley if you’re looking for someone kind, responsible, and truly invested in your pets’ wellbeing! 🐾

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred El Valle de Arroyo Seco walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in El Valle de Arroyo Seco maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in El Valle de Arroyo Seco choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in El Valle de Arroyo Seco. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
