“She attended to two pups while we were away and was so patient with my senior pup(and me!). Such a postive experience for a first time customer! We are so grateful! Thank you again Kerryanne”

“Need someone last minute. John responded promptly and was very communicative during his stay since it was his first time looking after my dog. Took him for a pee break and a little walk and gave him treats and my dog looked happy. Very pleased. Thanks!”

“Jenna is great!! She accommodated all the weird asks we had and was so flexible. Absolutely went above and beyond and I can't say enough nice things. Will 100% be re-booking when we have our next trip.”

About: I have done in home visits and dog walking for pets of all types. 3 years of experience. Tons of availability. True animal lover at heart. Many references available. I am currently not working and I'm looking for a few regular gigs to keep me busy. I love to walk and hike. I love people and animals in general. I currently am a homemaker with a fenced in yard, three cats at home, and a dog nephew who gets dropped off for at my discretion for either a long day of daycare or a sleepover.
“I can't recommend Teaghan enough! I am a first time Rover user and I was super anxious about it. I had another sitter booked originally but they were flaky so I had to find someone else last minute and Teaghan was sooo easy to work with and accommodating. I am so happy I found her and would definitely use her again in the future :)”

“Marie is phenomenal and I’m so thankful for her help on short notice and over the holidays! She took amazing care of my cat while I was away and sent fantastic updates after each visit. She is extremely professional and responsible. Will definitely be in touch with her for future needs!”

About: Dogs have been one of the great loves of my life. I've been taking care of them, and doing life with them for years :) I currently work full time and will be a graduate nursing student in the fall, pet care fits into my routine as a side gig! I care for pets by treating them as if they are a loved member of my own family, caring for their individual needs always :)
“Meaghan loves my Archie and treats him as her own. She bakes the best treats and he gobbles them up! She takes such good care of him that I’m blessed to have her as a sitter. (She even removed a tick she found! Now that’s dedication!)”

About: I’ve dedicated my life to working with animals and just completed my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at UConn. Since I was 10 years old, I have fostered orphaned kittens and pregnant mother cats and volunteered with the Mansfield Animal Shelter. I have also worked in a veterinary clinic, a kennel environment, and raised two guide dogs through a professional guide dog program. My experience includes caring for newborn kittens, senior pets, administering medications, puppy socialization, and handling dogs with a wide range of temperaments and energy levels. I have trained and handled dogs ranging from puppies to seniors, including my own workingline German Shepherd. I am comfortable using and properly implementing a variety of training tools and understand the importance of tailoring care and training to each individual dog. Whether your dog is reactive, nervous around new people, or a social butterfly, I will provide patient and attentive care. I have a flexible weekday schedule and am able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. While I am sometimes busy on weekends, I am usually local and may have availability depending on the booking. I pride myself on providing dependable care, maintaining routines, and keeping owners updated throughout their pet’s stay. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. With experience in veterinary medicine, guide dog raising, animal shelters, and fostering, I understand the importance of maintaining routines and recognizing changes in behavior or health. I carefully follow all owner instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and training. Whether your dog is reactive, shy, energetic, or highly trained, I tailor my care to their individual needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own and strive to create a safe, positive, and stress-free experience while you’re away.
“Liz is so awesome! Our cats love her, she sends great photos and is conscientious and diligent in her care for them. We don’t have to worry at all when we’re gone. This is the second time we’ve booked her and we’ll definitely book her again.”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was in high school, dog walking dozens of lovely pups all the way from Florida to Chicago over the years. I have helped to train reactive dogs, and taken leisurely strolls with senior greyhounds. My greatest achievement in life was being able to care for my lovely senior chihuahua, Ruby, who I took in at 11 years old and who sadly passed away last year. I understand how important it is to feel you have someone caring for your pet who you can fully trust, and I would love to be that person for you. I love all pets, but small dogs and senior pets have a special place in my heart. Please note that I have a traditional office job, and tues - thurs I will be in the office at least part of the day. I am comfortable taking care of dogs who are medically complex or who require oral medications. My partner, Peyton, has also dog walked and pet sat professionally over the years and may join me on walks with your pup if you/they are comfortable with it. I work in marketing M-F during the week, and am currently working from home on Fridays, with my weekends fully open! Weekdays I can be available in the morning, late afternoon - late night. I only care for pets in your home, as my apartment is not pet friendly. In your home, I will happily take your pets for walks as long as they desire or play in your house/yard, and always spend some time in addition to “fun time” to relax and snuggle (if they want to!)
“Brianna was great with our typically very people-shy dog! She totally understands dogs and was perfect about letting Loki warm up to her at his own pace! She was communicative and quick to respond, and even brought in our package for us!”

About: I have dog sat multiple dogs at one time for as long as a week long stay. I am very active and enjoy outside walks, and I am able to keep up with fast, strong, and heavy pets. I have always loved animals and am happy to sit and pet a dog or cat for hours. I am a full time student with a low commitment part time job looking for a way to fill my time with work I am passionate about which is spending time with animals and helping owners! I prioritize integrity, safety, and communication. My goal is to keep pets safe and owner’s minds at ease. I enjoy quality time with pets and want to make your life easier!
“⸻ I’ve been trusting Abhay with my dog for the past four years, and I can’t recommend him enough. He is incredibly reliable and always punctual, which gives me such peace of mind. One of the things I appreciate most is his excellent communication. After each session, he provides thoughtful updates on how things went, which shows how attentive and engaged he is. On the rare occasion when there’s any uncertainty, he doesn’t hesitate to reach out for clarification, which I truly appreciated. It’s clear that he takes both his work and my dog’s well-being seriously. It’s a huge comfort knowing my dog is in such capable and caring hands.”

“Jillian was a great sitter for my cat Nemo! She dropped in one him daily and sent me photos and videos of him. She was always very responsive to my texts and we had no issues with his care. Will definitely use Jill in the future!”
About: I taken care of pets my whole life! I've owned several cats and dogs, specifically english bulldogs, but have taken care of all different types and sizes of dogs. I have experience taking care of my friend's and family's animals. I just came home from college and am working part-time so I have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I'm free on the weekends and most days during the week :) It's important for me to prioritize the pet's usual routine so that they are comfortable and I treat them as if they are my own. I love creating a bond with animals to ensure that they are comfortable on walks and in their home.
“Lauren was great checking in on our dog at our home. She made sure to take lots of pictures and leave a thorough update on how our dog was doing, and was even nice enough to bring our packages inside. We would definitely recommend working with Lauren”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
