“Jessica is very nice and my dogs are well taken care of with her. I was really nervous to find a caretaker that I didn’t know, but it’s been great and we will definitely continue asking her to care for our pups.”

“Mary Rose did a great job feeding and watering my cat, Lily! She administered meds each day as well. She communicated effectively and sent pictures during each visit. In addition, she washed the dirty plates from the prior visits and left everything neat and clean. I would highly recommend Mary Rose, and I’ll book with her again!”

About: Hi all! My name is Veronica. I'm an Amherst College alumna ('17) and current 4th year med student (Dartmouth, Geisel School of Medicine '26). I spent my childhood in rural NY, TN, and VA with my grandparents and our dogs, cats, and parrot. In my household, animals were viewed as family, and were always treated as such. I've been taking care of/loving cats & dogs of all sizes (we have owned a daschund named Mr. Wiggles, an Irish Wolfhound named Hobbs, a collie named Blue, to name a few) and ages (puppies to salt&pepper seniors) since I was 5. My partner and I are also proud cat parents to two bonded, adopted cats (Gaston & Basil). I have cared for several friends', neighbors', and strangers turned clients' cats and dogs while they were away/traveling! I hope to bring the same love, respect, and care to your pet that I show my own when you are not there. No pet is too small, too big, too silly, or too drooly for me! I will be based in New Haven, CT working on my residency application, research, and other personal projects with much free time in the upcoming year (2025-26). I am happy to house-sit your pet in your own home, be a dog-walker, or drop-in to feed/walk/play with your pet. For dog-walking & drop-in services, I would prefer if clients are within a 10-15 minute drive from New Haven, CT, though I will consider each request individually. Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate dogs or cats in my own apartment.

About: I’ve had several large breed dogs since I was a child. I am comfortable handling dogs that pull and are like little tanks. My rottie used to stop and sniff everything, and he set our pace on walks. I’m an adjunct English professor, so I can also help your pets with their college admission essays.I am open all summer, but will be teaching in the evenings this fall. I can’t currently care for your pets in my apartment, because my cats said no, but I will be respectful and careful in your home.

About: Hi! My name is Jasie. I am working full-time in healthcare and from home (which gives me lots of flexibility)! Animals bring me so much joy and I love meeting new ones anywhere I go. I am coming back from a break from the app, as I had some years to spend with my roommate’s two lovely cats but they’ve now moved away and I’d love to make some new neighborhood friends! Right now I will focus my business on caring for cats. I have experience with special needs dogs and cats (meds, extra food prep). When you want to spend some time away from home and don’t want to leave your animals alone or even just want some time to yourself, I would love to take care of them! I work from home so have plenty of flexibility to care on dogs and cats, especially dogs when potty time is more needed than usual. I can play with them as I take breaks from work as well! I can crate a dog or cat if needed. I am very careful and like to make sure your pets are in my view from wherever I am most of the time. If I have to leave, I’ll make sure they can’t find trouble!

About: I’m committed to making each pet feel comfortable, safe, and loved. From high-energy dogs needing extra playtime or training to older pets who just want companionship, I offer a calm, compassionate approach that pets respond to. I have experience with pets of all ages and temperaments, including puppies, senior dogs, and dogs who need a little more patience, always aiming to make them feel at home. With reliable care and close attention to detail, I’m here to make your life easier and your pet’s life a bit more fun! I have a very flexible job, so I make myself available for daily routines and special requests. My flexible schedule means I can accommodate morning walks, evening check-ins, and weekend stays. Whatever your pet’s daily rhythm, I’m here to keep them comfortable and happy. In your home, I create a relaxed, comfortable environment for pets, treating their space as a sanctuary. I follow feeding routines, exercise preferences, and any special care instructions to keep their day as smooth and happy as possible. When walking outdoors, I keep safety front and center—using secure leashes, choosing pet-friendly paths, and being fully attentive. My goal is to provide the same level of care you would, making your pet feel supported and safe.

“Leah was an excellent cat sitter! Our cats are very shy and she was able to socialize with one of them which is a big step. We really appreciate her help taking care of them!”

“Mikayla and Justin are simply great. They took great care of my dog Thelma, who can be very skiddish as she is a rescue. Mikayla and Justin spent ample time letting Thelma warm up to them before taking her out for a walk. I would 10/10 recommend them for any pet care and I will definitely be booking them again for Thelma!”

About: I’ve been caring for my adopted cat, Eggy, for the past four years, and he’s the sweetest part of my life. I’ve also looked after dogs, including a coworker’s dog while their family was away and my aunt and uncle’s senior diabetic dog. I’m patient, dependable, and calm, and I love being outdoors so walks, hikes, and playtime are always a win. In my free time, I enjoy working out, making pottery, and reading. ☀️ I currently work from home full time so my daily schedule is pretty flexible. If needed, I can bring my laptop to work from as long as there is reliable WiFi. When meeting a pet for the first time, I am always aware of my demeanor and make sure to give them the space to approach me when they’re feeling ready. I keep a calm and patient demeanor to build trust with the new pet, and also make sure to find out if they have any favorite toys.

East Haven dog parents share their Rover experiences
Stephanie was very responsible and communicative. She is very patient and I felt very confident with having her care for Maya. It was the first time Maya had someone come into her home to let her out and everything worked perfectly!I will definitely use Stephanie again!

Anna is so delightful and clearly a dog lover. She communicated so well and sent loads of pictures/videos (which I love). It made me feel so at ease knowing she was there with my pups and watching them clearly enjoy spending time with her. Will definitely use Anna in the future. She’s so thoughtful, kind and I’m so grateful I found her.
