“Lexy is the best! Our girls love her. She is excellent at communicating and keeping us up-to-date. She is punctual and very kind and gentle with our dog and cats. We are so very thankful and glad to have found her.”

“Amanda is absolutely amazing and my dogs have fallen in love with her. She spends time with them and plays with them and sends me regular updates for each visit. Highly recommended.”

About: Hello! My name is Ava, i’m 19, and i’m a HUGE dog person. I’ve had dogs my whole life, big and small, lazy and crazy, girls and boys. I also have tonsssss of experience with reactive pups. I’m the main dog walker in the family. I’ve also dog sat for many families and I’ve worked for a doggy daycare/boarding facility. I know how to read body language and how to approach nervous pups. I can also handle leash pullers of any size. My current obsession is fostering. I foster for Journey Home Animal Rescue with my roommates and we are LOVING it. Your dog will be so loved under my care. I seriously treat them like children. All dogs are good dogs!:) I currently work part time as a lifeguard and my schedule is usually all over the place and never really consistent so my plan is to take clients when i know ill be available. I treat all dogs like they’re my own! I’ve always had a deep connection with animals and i’ve been told it’s because i treat them as if they’re a human. I like to spoil pups any way that i can (walks, treats, playtime, nap time, cuddles, etc.) depending on their preferences because all dogs are different!
About: I have had multiple animals under my care from dogs and cats to raccoons and squirrels! I have been in animal care of different aspects for my entire adult life. I want to have flexibility, gain more experience, all while getting my degree in Animal Health and Behavior. I am currently working part time and doing school online! I am very flexible with care schedules but am most available in the evenings after 4pm. Depending on the day, I could do different times but it would need to be discussed since I don’t have the same schedule every week. My cat is very friendly with humans but he is very territorial over his home with other animals and I don’t feel comfortable having other pets in my home at this time. With your fur babies, I want to try and keep them in their routine in your home as much as possible to ease possible stress with separation from you. Whether that means play time, training/mentally stimulating activities, or just tv on the couch, Im here for it! I am also willing to take your dogs for walks around your neighborhood, at a park, etc. i would love to discuss what your dogs comfortable with and loves!

“Helped us out with a last minute request for dog sitting. Was communicative, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend Elizabeth to other pet owners in need of care!”

About: A pet lover from the very beginning, I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and have cared for them from the time I could walk. Having worked with the young and rowdy and the senior and meek, I am familiar with just about every age, personality, and temperament type. I am experienced with administering oral medication and watching for symptoms of illness or discomfort, and will keep owners updated on their pet. I am available most weekdays and every other weekend. I will be happy to provide my care to you and your four-legged family members. I work full time as a direct support professional, mostly weekends and overnight shifts. I am available most weekdays during the day, and every other weekend. During drop-ins and overnight stays, I will ensure that your pet has fresh water, a clean potty (whether that be a litter box or backyard), and is kept on schedule with meal times and medications. But it is not all work—also play! I will take your pet for walks and provide some entertainment while their usual play-partners are away.
About: I first started my pet career by walking the neighbors dogs when I was in middle school. Once I got older I started working at a pet store as a cashier. Then I eventually got certified to be a dog groomer. I have continued my education by attending a pet expo in Las Vegas. While I was there I took some classes and got certified in pet cpr/first aid and geriatric dog grooming. I currently work as a dog groomer during the weekdays. It is flexible. As I make my own schedule. Weekends are available. And the occasional holiday Whether you’re away on vacation, or stuck at work. I can come by and tend to whatever Fido needs. From a good walk to a delicious meal.
About: I have work at 2 doggy daycare for the past 7+ years! I have experience with all sorts of dogs, ranging from anxious and nervous to rambunctious and excited. I can comfortably administer medication. I am certified in Canine Behavior and Basic Obedience. I love taking pups out for day trips, either that being the hiking trails or just a fun car ride! I can work any day of the week! I don’t have any strict schedules! I do take on training clients but your pup would never be alone for more than an hour! If we’re hanging out at my house I provide a safe and stimulating environment! I have a field right behind my house that I love to bring my dogs too to play fetch! I can crate if needed! I also have two fur babies to keep yours company!

“WONDERFUL SITTER! For the second time I asked Mariah to stop by my home and check on my cats while I was out of town. She followed all the instructions perfectly, has great communication skills, and she took great care of my home and pets. She is such a great sitter, I recommend her very much and hope she's available on my next trip as well!”

“Alex is amazing! He was on time. He communicated with me knowing I worry about my babygirl she is 20 years old and on kidney meds. He sent pictures of her and her showing she ate. He took the time to stay and pet her and give her cat cuddles. Alex is very sweet. And will definitely be use him in the future! Thank you Alex for taking care of Pita so well and putting this mum at peace of mind!”

“Rayna took great care of my dogs on 4th of July weekend. She did a great job with my diabetic dog needs and care as well as giving alot of attention to my other dog and cat. Will definitely use Rayna again”

“Outstanding care of my two cats. This was my first time using the Rover service and Cliona R. gave me a lot of faith in the service. She was easy to communicate with and took great care of my cats during the drop-in visits while I was out of town for four days. She made sure they were given food, water, and litterbox care needed for them to live...in addition, she took time to play with them each day so they knew that someone cared about them. With each visit, I was provided great photos and reports to put me at ease while I was away from home. My cats are very important to me and I would have no problem trusting her with them again.”

“Kirstin is AMAZING! Wow! I had been really stressed out about leaving my puppy at home alone with my work schedule. She is such a great communicator, trustworthy, and responsible. My puppy loves her. Kirstin will go above and beyond without question. Thank you Kirstin!!!”

Rayna was excellent! She left great detailed notes and multiple pictures after each of her drop- ins. She took great care of our senior dog’s needs and also went above and beyond with spending extra time just keeping him company. We will definitely request Rayna as a sitter for our dog again.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
