“What a wonderful experience with Lexi. First time leaving my dog Otis alone caused me great anxiety. Not only did she take great care of Otis, she took better care of me. She was in constant communication from the beginning all through the booking. The updates throughout the day and pictures of him greatly eased my mind. She loved him as if he were her own. If I had ten thumbs they would all be up for her.”

“Alex is amazing! He was on time. He communicated with me knowing I worry about my babygirl she is 20 years old and on kidney meds. He sent pictures of her and her showing she ate. He took the time to stay and pet her and give her cat cuddles. Alex is very sweet. And will definitely be use him in the future! Thank you Alex for taking care of Pita so well and putting this mum at peace of mind!”

“Rayna was excellent! She left great detailed notes and multiple pictures after each of her drop- ins. She took great care of our senior dog’s needs and also went above and beyond with spending extra time just keeping him company. We will definitely request Rayna as a sitter for our dog again.”

“Blaize has been phenomenal! Very patient and attentive to pup’s needs. I also appreciate the detailed reports and all the heart-melting photos. Definitely recommend!”

“Amanda is absolutely amazing and my dogs have fallen in love with her. She spends time with them and plays with them and sends me regular updates for each visit. Highly recommended.”

“Helped us out with a last minute request for dog sitting. Was communicative, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend Elizabeth to other pet owners in need of care!”

About: Hello! My name is Ava, i’m 19, and i’m a HUGE dog person. I’ve had dogs my whole life, big and small, lazy and crazy, girls and boys. I also have tonsssss of experience with reactive pups. I’m the main dog walker in the family. I’ve also dog sat for many families and I’ve worked for a doggy daycare/boarding facility. I know how to read body language and how to approach nervous pups. I can also handle leash pullers of any size. My current obsession is fostering. I foster for Journey Home Animal Rescue with my roommates and we are LOVING it. Your dog will be so loved under my care. I seriously treat them like children. All dogs are good dogs!:) I currently work part time as a lifeguard and my schedule is usually all over the place and never really consistent so my plan is to take clients when i know ill be available. I treat all dogs like they’re my own! I’ve always had a deep connection with animals and i’ve been told it’s because i treat them as if they’re a human. I like to spoil pups any way that i can (walks, treats, playtime, nap time, cuddles, etc.) depending on their preferences because all dogs are different!
“WONDERFUL SITTER! For the second time I asked Mariah to stop by my home and check on my cats while I was out of town. She followed all the instructions perfectly, has great communication skills, and she took great care of my home and pets. She is such a great sitter, I recommend her very much and hope she's available on my next trip as well!”

“Very kind and efficient. Was able to set up time to meet my puppy prior to the days she came by. Was able to help me pup sit after unable to get a sitter with such short notice. Sent lots of pics with the report card. Thankful to have her help me out this week 😊”

“Cliona goes above and beyond with care for your babies. She was so sweet and loving to my delta, i was so grateful and at ease knowing how well she was going to be taken care of. Cliona is great at taking plenty of pictures, making sure everything litter/water is replenished and fresh and clean, and spoiling them with play and treats. She also was so gracious when i asked for a 2x a day visit and made it so easy for me. Your loved ones will absolutely be in good care with cliona!”

About: I have had multiple animals under my care from dogs and cats to raccoons and squirrels! I have been in animal care of different aspects for my entire adult life. I want to have flexibility, gain more experience, all while getting my degree in Animal Health and Behavior. I am currently working part time and doing school online! I am very flexible with care schedules but am most available in the evenings after 4pm. Depending on the day, I could do different times but it would need to be discussed since I don’t have the same schedule every week. My cat is very friendly with humans but he is very territorial over his home with other animals and I don’t feel comfortable having other pets in my home at this time. With your fur babies, I want to try and keep them in their routine in your home as much as possible to ease possible stress with separation from you. Whether that means play time, training/mentally stimulating activities, or just tv on the couch, Im here for it! I am also willing to take your dogs for walks around your neighborhood, at a park, etc. i would love to discuss what your dogs comfortable with and loves!
About: Ive been taking care of dogs for a long time. I have a puppy right now that is about two years old named Bauer and he is my best friend. Before Bauer I had two other puppies and I love all dogs. I would love to spend time with your dog take them on walks, drives, feedings, baths, and to the park! I am still in school so I am working part time and when I am avaliable I would love to spend my time with your puppy! I do have a very friendly puppy in my home that loves to meet new puppy friends! I would love to have our puppies become friends and bring them to the dog parks, on walks, drives etc.

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I take great care of my parents' dog, Daisy, walking her and loving her. I have been working with her for the past 5 years! I work a few hours during the day and am able to be available before and after my shifts! I am available most weekends as well! My dog lives off of attention and I am always able to provide that for her! I work hard to tend to their needs and pay attention to cues.
About: I grew up in Grand Forks with 2 German Shepherds and a Yorkie. I love every type of dog, big or small. I worked at the doggie daycare Petopia in town for a year and a half and only stopped in preparation for school. I loved every dog I met as much as my own and my camera roll is filled with pictures of them! I’m currently a class of 2030 UND Aviation student and I work part time dispatch at Ryan Hall but I’m pretty flexible. I love staying busy, playing tennis, flying, going to my lake, and going on walks, so I think this would be a great addition. I work part time for UND and I start school in August where I typically have class midday. I often get up early and go on nightly walks. I’d love dogs to be apart of my morning and nightly routine. I love to play with dogs when they’re in their high-energy state and I also love to just pet them if they want to lounge. Going on walks and staying healthy is very important to me and having a pup to accompany me would be awesome! Just like myself, I’d always make sure they have water.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - East Grand Forks
Rayna was excellent! She left great detailed notes and multiple pictures after each of her drop- ins. She took great care of our senior dog’s needs and also went above and beyond with spending extra time just keeping him company. We will definitely request Rayna as a sitter for our dog again.

I can’t even begin to recommend Kelly enough. She’s been an angel with my two Bengal kitties. I’ve had two other sitters on Rover, one locked my cat in the bathroom for 3 days and the other stopped her care mid-trip because she was afraid of my vocal male cats hunger yowels. I told these things to Kelly and she made me feel so comfortable to leave my kitties in her care. She does an amazing job of keeping you updated, so many pictures and she even cleaned my home and vacuumed it. And so many other thoughtful things. I 100% recommend her and will be requesting her again for future trips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
