He was calm and happy with her, and Hope was flexible enough to let us pick him up and drop off later in the middle of his stay. He had no problem returning to her house after a nearby hike, which says it all.”

Always an adventure. Not to mention, she takes the best pics lol.”

“Richard has been renting from me for about six months and helping with the dogs I have here when I get busy. He has helped in the past when I have needed an extra helper with some of the dogs I have. He helps me to organize the feeding and sometimes brings them out for walks so we can get them out in a timely manner. He is a loving and responsible person who can be trusted with your dog as he has always had dogs in his life, getting his first dog (a Great Dane mix) when he was ten years old. He has cared for my dog Maebe numerous times and she loves him dearly.”

About: I have about 10 years of hands-on dog experience and a solid understanding of dog body language, behaviour, and psychology. I am also currently working on gaining my first dog training certification. My training specialty has landed on service dogs, but I still have experience with basic obedience, tricks, and behaviour modification. I’m also about to begin my journey in dog grooming! Currently this is my full time job, which means I am home nearly 24/7 to care for your dog. In the case I do need to step out it’s rarely for more than 3 hours. For dogs boarding with me, we start the day with a bathroom break and short play session (if interested). Then dogs are fed breakfast and given at least 30-45 minutes of down time. After that we may have daycare dogs join us. Then we adjust depending on the dogs’ personalities and preferences. We could spend the day playing, just hanging out, or a bit of both! Throughout the day we take at least 2 short breaks and 1 long break to ensure everyone stays hydrated and has a chance to rest. If anyone gets dirty I will rinse and dry them off before pick up to ensure they go home clean. As our yard is unfenced dogs go outside on a leash or long line unless e-collar trained. I also have two large crates as well as an x-pen on hand to ensure dogs have their own space for breaks, meals, and sleep. If for some reason a dog needs a muzzle (e.g. eats rocks) I have 1 on hand for a medium-large dog.

Laura was awesome about introducing her dogs one by one and letting him get accustomed to her dogs and her home. She tried different areas to see where he would be most comfortable and really put time and effort into getting him to relax and be comfortable. She kept me up to date and make me feel a lot better about where he was and how he was doing. I would definitely use them again when we're in the Adirondacks!”
