I have a big yard that's 2.5 acres and we roam around the whole thing. Some of it's long grass so I will check for ticks. I cut or file my own dogs nails as well and can offer that if needed depending how well the dog or cat does. I work full time but work from home some days of the week, Wednesdays and Fridays. We are available in evenings and weekends. Especially in the winter. We have a large yard. Most of the time we let the dogs out on a 50 foot leash for quick potty breaks.
