“Thanks Teri! You did a terrific job! I would highly recommend Teri to watch your pets. From the first time she met my boys they took a liking to her and I could tell they were going to be friends. I don’t like to leave my pets with just anyone, they mean to much to me, but I will leave them with Teri anytime! Thanks again Teri!!”

“Jennifer was awesome checking in on my 2 cats while I was away at a conference. We texted and also spoke via phone about each cat’s need, how they may respond with a new person, and my expectations. She spent the time of the short check in to ensure they were fed, watered, and did play time with them. She also kept me apprised the entire time. I plan to use her in the future and highly recommend her!”

We have consistently taken in puppies and dedicated our time and effort to training them into well-behaved companions. From fundamental obedience training to advanced commands, I have accumulated extensive experience in assisting my family with their dog training and care. I firmly believe that dogs are integral members of the family and should be cherished and provided with daily love and attention. My passion for dogs extends to offering reliable and trustworthy dog walking services. I am flexible in my schedule and can accommodate your needs. About: I don't think I've ever not had a dog! I have taken care of dogs of all ages and backgrounds growing up not only did I dog sit for friends and family, but my family fostered rescue dogs for the mid-atlantic german shorthair pointer rescue. I have some rudimentary puppy training knowledge, and I’m very comfortable around puppies! I am well versed in senior dog care including administering medications. I also have experience in dogs that have some mild to medium temperament issues from working with rescue dogs and my past dog sitting experience. I am an early bird so it would be easy for me to cater a short commute to school or fit in some morning exercise for your pup. I am a college student who has class every day during the week, from mid-morning the earliest being nine thirty and ending early in the afternoon two o'clock at the latest. I am very active and I often go for runs/walks in the evening and I would love to have a dog along come with me! At home I have two very active dogs and I have had very high energy dogs my entire life at home. I’m always throwing a dog toy either into the pool or a ball in the yard. I treat all of my clients dogs like my own! Even if it's just for a quick visit or a walk!
“Tess did an amazing job sitting for our pups. Punctual, very communicative, and most importantly our dogs were tuckered out at the end of the day. Will definitely hire again, A++ reliable sitter!”

I work every day 2pm - 10pm so I’m available any day to walk in the mornings or anytime before 1. I can come as often as needed before that time. I am looking to walk dogs not pet sit. But I have 7 cats at home, I foster/rescue cats so my home in unavailable.

I have experience with senior animals, as well as with animals that require medication. Please feel free to reach out at any time. My schedule is fairly open! I am available during the week as well as on weekends. Please reach out with any additional scheduling questions you may have. “I love Leslie! She is now my go-to when we need a sitter! She is punctual and always sends great pics and updates on what my cats are doing... and we have a lot of cats.”

About: From playful puppies and cuddly kittens to senior dogs and cats, including those with special needs like diabetes, I offer a wide range of pet-sitting services tailored to your furry friend's unique needs. Rest assured, your beloved companions will receive the love, care, and attention they deserve while you're away. In my everyday life I take care of my home and my two furry friends. I have a pretty open schedule and love to share the love with other furry friends Whether your furry friend stays with me or I come to them, they’ll be treated like family. My home is cozy, safe, and pet-friendly — filled with fun toys, comfy spaces, and even a large cat tree for our feline guests to climb and explore. While I don’t have a fenced-in yard, I’m happy to take dogs out on leashed walks for fresh air, potty breaks, and exercise. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I’m committed to keeping them comfortable, stimulated, and loved — just like they would be at home. Whether it's playtime, cuddle time, or quiet time, your pet will get personalized care and attention. I can also provide visits in your home, keeping your pets in their familiar space while you're away.
“Zeel was great! She played with my cats, cleaned up their messes, communicated with me each day while we were away, and sent photos! I would absolutely book with her again in the future!”

About: I’m very caring and attentive to all animals and I am here to look after and play with them when you are unavailable. I have plenty of experience watching dogs, cats, and even reptiles on several different occasions for a few years now and I will never get tired of meeting new ones! I have a passionate love for animals and believe they deserve the best care possible. I’ve been looking for a job and came to the conclusion this is the best for me. Getting paid to care and tend to animals and even just hanging and chilling with them doesn’t even seem like a job to me but more like a fun time. As of right now, I have all the time in the world to look after pets and be their friend. Contact me whenever you need me! :) I live in a safe and friendly neighborhood. I do not have a fence but and perfectly fine taking dogs out on the leash for the bathroom or just for a walk. If you have any special requests or advice when you need me to look after them I am all ears and waiting for the details.
About: I have over six years of experience in animal care and am eager to continue my career. My goal is to work at a veterinary clinic or hospital, or establish my own mobile grooming business after completing grooming school. In my previous role at Sobo Dog Daycare, I gained experience maintaining a safe environment for dogs and recognizing canine body language and behaviors. I'm currently working from home part time as well as doing this part time. My hours are flexible and I'm usually always able to adjust my schedule to accommodate to my rover clients schedule! I can provide care to both, long stays at clients residence or I can provide boarding services in my home!! Whatever is the best for the client and also for the pet parent as well! If im boarding I suggest bringing anything that is favorable, toy or bed, blanket ect its easier for them to get adjusted to the new environment if they have something familiar from home with them.

About: I've taken care of multiple types of animals over the years! Dogs, cats, birds, bugs, reptiles, rodents, amphibians and fish! Much of my experience comes from working at PetSmart and owning most of these animals myself! I have 2 Rottweiler/Husky mixes, 2 cats, a cornsnake, 5 birds (Sun Conure, Green Cheek Conure, Cockatiel, and 2 Budgies!), 3 axolotls, one tank of Koi and Goldfish, and another tank of tropical fish! I currently work part-time at PetSmart as a pet caretaker! I have Thursdays off, but my work schedule doesn't normally get in the way. I always wait for an animal to greet me first to avoid stressing the pet out. I normally have calming chews and treats on me to try to encourage the animal that I am not a threat.
“What a pleasure to have Abigail take care of our older guy. She came over to meet him before their time together. She took great photos of him (which he won’t let me do). She took extra care of our super senior. We can’t wait to have her back again!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by cats and dogs my entire life and have over the last 8 years been a pet parent myself! I currently have 6 cats and 1 sweet, cat-loving dog which has made me very familiar with different pet personalities, routines, and individual needs. My dog has also struggled with separation anxiety since he was first adopted and I worked patiently with him to help him feel more comfortable and secure. This assured me even more the importance of patience, consistency, understanding, and creating a calm, loving environment for animals who may need a little extra reassurance. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, anxious, playful, or just loves to cuddle, I’ll treat them with the same love, attention, and care I give my own. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members, and my goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away! I currently am a stay at home mama, homeschooling my young kiddo so I have plenty of flexibility during the week and weekends to hang out and love on your pets. I strive to create a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where every pet feels right at home! In my home, there is a designated cat room that only my kitties and humans can access, giving my cats a peaceful space to relax and have their own privacy when needed. There are also plenty of cozy beds, blankets, and comfy spots for naps, cuddles, and snuggles! My home has a spacious, open-floor basement and main level, providing lots of room for indoor playtime, toys, and fun! I also live near several parks and in a walkable neighborhood where I enjoy taking my furry friends on walks, exploring, and getting fresh air! When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to maintain their normal routines so they feel safe, happy, and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. Whether that means feeding, walks, playtime, litter box care, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love and attention.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have 14 years of experience caring for pets. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive, and I’ll make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I enjoy spending time with animals, playing with them, and making sure they get the care and attention they deserve. I have a flexible schedule and can make time to give your pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I’m happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pets are well cared for while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have one friendly dog at home and can keep your pet separated from them if needed. I’ll make sure your pet has a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of love and attention.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
