“My pup came home very tired and sleepy ! She def kept my pup entertained. She takes pictures and videos through out the day in case you’re anxious, she kept me well updated . Pimpaka was very sweet, I would definitely book her again when I’m back in California.”

“Super quick responses and lots of photos. Both our cat and dog came back sleepy which is a great sign! If we ever need care when we come into the area, we will definitely reach out to Yang!”

“Lawrence was so amazing with our shy and gentle Bailey! I felt at ease knowing that Bailey was getting the kind of care and attention that I give her myself. Lawrence went above and beyond my expectations in every aspect- following Baileys routine including walking her and play time, being sensitive to her shyness and helping her feel comfortable in a new environment, communication with pics and videos and thorough updates throughout the day, everything! 10/10 would recommend. It’s rare to find people like Lawrence who really give their time, attention, and sincere care to their clients. I could see how relaxed my pup was and that is priceless to me.”

“This is our fourth visit. Jake seems to have a better time every time he is with you. Jing also gave him a nice present for his 12th birthday, which was incredibly sweet. Thank you for loving Jake.”

“Thanks again for watching the babies! They were excited getting out of the car in the morning and came home and were exhausted! They love going to see Haijin, Victor and Sugar!”

“Daisy was easy to communicate with and prompt to respond, she provided updates and pictures throughout the day. Drop Off and pick up were easy and she was very accommodating.”

“Christina was super patient and sent regular updates during the day. Our dog has pretty bad separation anxiety but Christina was very understanding and patient. Thank you so much!”

“Eunice was great as responding quick and Kobe had a great time at her home. There were multiple updates throughout the day. I will definitely use her services again for Kobe.”

About: I raised my 2 mini schnauzers from puppyhood through their twilight years and loved every second of it. We made many other dog friends along the way, including the occasional sleepover. I work remotely from home, so it’s easy for me to adapt to whatever schedule your dog is used to! I travel for 2-3 weeks in the year around (but typically not during) holidays. My apartment complex is gated with great walking areas for the community’s many pets. A public park is just next door with hiking trails for higher energy pups. I also have extra beds, crates, leashes, bowls, and toys if you forget yours or prefer not to haul them around.
“Angelica was great. She accommodated some changes to our schedule, and the communications were prompt. We had a fantastic day, knowing our pup was in good hands. We would use her again in a heartbeat next time in Pasadena. Thank you Angelica!”

“Pamela was wonderful! Kind, communicative, and punctual for pickup and drop off. She watched my two fur babies for a day and they came back happy and tired. Would 100% recommend her pet sitting services and will happily use her again in the future!”

“Gigi & Steven have been absolutely incredible watching my pup! They were able to take her in last minute and kept me updated with how she was doing throughout the day and I could tell she was having a blast! Will definitely be rebooking with them again!”

“Savannah was great! She listened well to my requests and updated me on how Qtip was doing :) He was his chipper self when I picked him up so I think he had a great time with her!”

“This was my first time ever using Rover, or really having someone outside of family watch my dogs, so I was definitely a little nervous. She knew going in that Precious is very skittish with new people and that Kona can be a little spicy and may bite if his boundaries aren’t respected, and she was still willing to give them a chance. 🥹 I really appreciated how patient and understanding she was with both of them. She took the time to let them get comfortable, took them on a walk, and made me feel like they were in good hands. I’m so glad I decided to give this a try and I’m looking forward to using her again! It honestly gives me some peace of mind knowing I may have someone I can trust with my dogs, and I’m hopeful I’ll be able to get out and travel more without always worrying about who will take care of them. 💛🐾”

“Felicia was the best!! Niko has terrible separation anxiety but her home environment was perfect for him. She had a couple other dogs with her and they were all so cute and friendly and he had tons of friends to play with. He didn’t even notice or care when we left. She took him to the park and sent us TONS of pictures, you can never get too many photos of your dog. She responded super quickly and helped us out last minute. Niko can’t wait to come back!”

“Antoinette was awesome! Our Basset came back so happy and tired from a full day of fun with her puppies! Thank you so much for all the love you showed him during his first day care stay!”

“Joyce was great! She gave many updates while my pup was there for day care. We were heading to Universal Studios for the day; she was so accommodating with our drop off and pick up schedule. Will most definitely will book her again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Duarte
As a first-time dog mom, I was so nervous about leaving Violet with someone new. Sheila was absolutely wonderful! She took the time to do a meet-and-greet beforehand and communicated with me so well that I felt completely reassured. Throughout the day, she sent me photos and updates, and when I picked Violet up, she even sent us home with a sweet note and a progress report. It was such a thoughtful touch. I feel so relieved to have found someone I can truly trust with my pup. I will definitely be using Sheila for boarding again in the future. Thank you so much, Sheila and Greg!

Michelle was wonderful with Nyra. She was able to get her into a car to take her for a hike, which is not an easy feat. Nyra was very happy after staying with Michelle who was very flexible and understanding about the time I had. I highly recommend her services. She seems to have such a wonderful way with dogs!

Eric was so awesome! I was stressing when I wasn’t able to find someone to watch my fur babies. They either couldn’t or didn’t respond to my message. It was my first time letting someone else watch my dogs other than my mom. I was bit nervous and especially cause I know my dogs could be a bit much. I was also nervous about my girl dog because she’s pretty skittish with new people. Eric kept me updated and reassured me they were safe. Thank you again Eric!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
