About: I've owned dogs for the past 20 years, first an Australian Shephard, then a yellow Lab. I've also cared for the dogs of friends and family. After the death of my most recent guy, Petey, I decided that I want the companionship of dogs without the vet bills$ I'm now retired from teaching and have all the time in the world to sit, walk, transport and care for dogs. I can accept dogs during the day or night, 7 days a week. Your dogs will be in an open setting in my home. I have a fenced yard so they can play. I live near a park and a riverfront, so long walks can be taken through natural settings. I accept only one or two dogs at a time, depending on the personality and behaviour of the dogs. I have a van that can transport dog to wherever they need to go.

“Great sitter, quick communications, sent pictures, accommodated late pick up, pup is pooped and napping, grey job, highly recommended.”

I enjoy taking photos of my dog and nature so expect pictures updates as well. I am super flexible so for whatever you need, don’t hesitate to ask! I can’t wait to meet you and your pet! I’m available for daily walks, drop in visits and boarding. I work from home so I have the time and flexibility to care for your pet and give them the attention they need throughout the day. About: Need a house sitter, plant sitter, or pet sitter you can count on? Hi, I’m Madrona — a remote marketing professional with a flexible schedule, years of experience, and a serious soft spot for furry companions. Since my family (and their pets) no longer live nearby, I’m looking to spend more quality time with animals — whether that’s a quick walk, a drop-by visit, or a longer stay in your home while you’re away. I’m available for: • Overnight house and pet sitting (I’ll stay in your home and care for pets + plants) • Drop-ins and walks • Short-term or occasional care I’ve worked with pets who are reactive, anxious, on meds, or just need a little extra patience. I’ve also been the go-to sitter for everything from cats with attitude to senior dogs with complex routines. I treat every home and animal like my own — with care, consistency, and respect. Tabor, my sweet family dog, won’t be tagging along unless invited, but he’s why I do this. He taught me how much love and attention animals really need — and deserve. Let’s chat if you’re looking for someone kind, experienced, and reliable. Because I work remotely and make my own schedule, I have the flexibility to integrate pet care seamlessly into my day. Whether it’s morning walks, mid-day visits, or overnight stays, I can be fully present and consistent — no rushing between commitments or leaving pets alone for long stretches. I genuinely enjoy the quiet companionship animals bring, so spending time with them is never a chore — it’s something I look forward to. Whether I’m staying in your home or stopping by throughout the day, I’ll make sure your pets feel safe, seen, and cared for the entire time you’re away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping things as close to their usual routine as possible. That means sticking to feeding schedules, walk times, medication if needed, and any specific instructions you provide — all while giving them plenty of love, attention, and calm energy. I’m respectful of your space, tidy, and communicative, so you’ll always know how things are going while you’re away. For drop-ins or walks, I make sure each visit is intentional — not rushed. I give pets time to settle, play, get their energy out (or just relax), and always check on their water, food, and general well-being. If I’m doing overnight care, I work remotely from your home, so your pets get lots of company and consistency throughout the day — not just in the mornings and evenings. No matter the service, your pet’s comfort and safety come first.

Additionally, there are many parks near by that I can walk your dog to to play or just take in the fresh air. My home is their home!

10. Preeti P.
“Let me begin by saying that my dog is my baby and I treat him as such! I am very critical of who I allow to care for him. That being said, I HIGHLY recommend Preeti and For The Love of Dogs, She treats my dogs as if they were her own. She is reliable, trustworthy and goes above and beyond. Stark adore her and that means everything to me. It is apparent from the moment you see her interact with your dog that it is not just a business to her, it is her love. In addition, her knowledge regarding all aspects of canine care is extensive and helpful. The peace of mind in knowing that my baby is well cared for is priceless.”

16. Madrona P.
“I truly don’t know what I would have done without Madrona. My dog Milo has some pretty specific needs, both medical and emotional, and I’d been nervous to leave him in anyone else’s care. From the very first visit, she put both of us at ease. She took the time to understand his routine, his medications, and all the little things that help him feel safe. I came home to a happy, calm Milo, which never used to happen, and the regular updates gave me total peace of mind. Madrona is not only dependable—she’s incredibly kind, intuitive, and clearly loves what she does. I wouldn’t trust anyone else.”

17. Summer B.
“Summer's has demonstrated patience and care with my dog and many others. I witnessed Summer work with a challenging family pet that would not go outside. Once Summer was able to leash the dog, she ran it outside for a potty break, in the middle of winter, without even putting her shoes on because she only cared about the dog. She truly shows compassion with all animals.”
