“Wonderful experience - we had to rush out of town twice because of an elderly parent’s health. Samantha was there for us both times even though it was short notice. She saw to our cats needs and even helped out with an issue with unplugging a machine that was left running. Wonderful lady!!!”
“Meghan did an amazing job checking in on our cat while we were away! She was professional, kept our house clean, and most importantly, our cat was happy and comfortable. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our pet was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up with dogs and other small pets (cats, rabbits, chickens, mice, parakeets, fish, and more). That being said I am comfortable and prepared to take care of much more than dogs and cats. I’ve been responsible to provide food, water, and enrichment to my own pets as well at those of friends and family. I am a full time college student even over the summer but besides that I have a lot of free time. During those times i’d love to spend time caring for your pet or pets! I believe I can adapt well and pick up on the cues of a pet to keep them happy and healthy while according to the owners requests on care.
About: Pre-vet student with years of pet care experience; moderate experience in puppy/dog training, senior care, and medication, providing expert, compassionate attention to every beloved pet! As a college student with a flexible, seasonal schedule and worsk part-time, I easily incorporate reliable pet care into my daily and weekly routine year-round. In clients' homes, I follow routines closely, provide feeding, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and ensure pets feel safe, loved, and stress-free throughout there care.
About: I have taken care of dogs, cats, and other pets for years. Even the shyest of animals end up loving me! I gave my dog the best 13 years he could ever have, and I want to share my love and kindness with other pets while alleviating duties from busy owners. I am a junior at Florida Institute of Technology studying Forensic Psychology and minoring in PreLaw with a light workload, as I am finishing up my time in college. Caring for pets would drastically increase my happiness and improve my quality of life, give the animals necessary exercise, fresh air, and extra love/attention, and help busy owners tend to their duties and relieve their stress. I have a decent living space in my pet-friendly apartment with backyard greenery and a cozy room for them to rest if the animals need.
About: I have over 10 years of experience as a dog walker and pet sitter from puppies to high-need senior dogs. I offer a compassionate, confident presence that will keep your pets comfortable and at ease while you’re away. I currently have open availability for dog sitting services including the upcoming holidays. I’m also available for drop ins or walks after 4pm. I’m happy to accommodate you’re pet’s regular routine as much as possible! I’m attentive and tuned into your pet’s needs. Safety is my number-one priority then of course fun! I will take the time to get to know the specific needs of your pet to ensure that they have the highest level of care and comfort.
“Kayla was able to make 2/walks in 1 day work with such short notice for our 2 dogs. She was very easy to communicate with and took good care of our girls, especially the older one. Would highly recommend and use Kayla again!”

“Stephen is amazing! He’s well-versed with large breeds, and we were so happy to find someone experienced who Bowser absolutely loves walking with. He’s always punctual, and after just two walks, Bowser is already so excited to see him! It’s hard to find someone you can truly trust with your dog, and Stephen is definitely that person. Highly recommend!”

“Needed someone for a last-minute drop in for the next day and Margaret willingly accepted. She was timely and send photos while there. Will definitely contact her again.”

“Christine was not only friendly and helpful but she was understanding of our dog’s breed and gave us such a piece of mind! She went above and beyond making it easy to highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to watch their pup. Thank you Christine!”

About: Hi my name is Cory! I love dogs and they seem to know it right away. I have been around dogs since I was 4 years old. I have owned 2 akitas and an English bulldog . My latest Akita Diablo passed away 5 years ago and I haven't gotten another dog since his passing so currently I have no dogs. I only have chinchillas and a hamster as of now. I have a lot of experience working with dogs and they seem to feel relaxed and comfortable when in my care, making this the perfect job for me. I know how to approach these animals in a way that is non-threatening to reduce their anxiety and to help them relax. I can help to maintain the routine they are used to, so they will not get anxious or feel so alone while their owners are away. I have extensive knowledge concerning the different breeds of dogs and I know how to take care of them properly. I understand that some breeds have special needs and that the age of the dog will play a major role in how to take care of them. You can depend on me to provide excellent service and to take great care of your dog/dogs. I know what questions to ask to make sure I understand their specific needs. I will do anything to make your pup feel comfortable and at home away from home during his stay with me. I love detailed instructions so please feel free to let me know everything about your pet! I have a fenced in yard and 2 children who are huge dog lovers who would love to keep your dog(s) busy and keep them company!
“Ashley was amazing! We were in constant communication, she sent a ton of pictures, and I could enjoy being away knowing my three kitties were well taken care of. There was inclement weather and she still found a way to get to my place and take care of my kitties. Thank you so much Ashley!!”

“This was the first time we used Rover and we had such a great experience with Megan! She was so patient with our anxious kitty and everything went perfect. We will definitely ask her to sit for us again in the future!”

About: Growing up, I had a Lab and then a Boxer and two cats. I've also helped my aunt at the doggie daycare she runs out of her home where she often has more than 10 dogs at a time. Everything from a Great Pyrenees to German Shepherds to Doodles to Yorkies. And it's always so much fun! The care I'll give your pets will really depend on them and their needs. There's a very large unfenced grass area behind my apartment building that would be perfect for walks or play. And there are multiple parks in the area too we could explore. At yours, I'd keep whatever their normal routine is. Whether that's taking walks, throwing the ball or just sitting and chilling and scratching butts. Their butts of course! Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
