“Lauran is an absolute dream of a companion, house sitter, fur baby manager and lover, and just overall great human. Lauran was thoughtful, responsive and responsible in every way. From sharing pics of our Simon and Molly with us, to asking questions of us as needed, to her bubbly and positive personality, to her attention to detail, she will be our go to person every time we need someone who we trust to spend time at our home and with our pups. We came home to a house nice Ethan we left it a two dogs that were clearly well taken care of while we weee away. Thank you Lauran for being such a great Rover sitter! Thank you Lauran for giving us such peace found and comfort as we traveled.”

“Annie was amazing!! She sent updates morning and evening with several pics and videos each time. She played outside with her and even did some training. Our Janie had a wonderful time with her!!”

“We recently had the pleasure of having Gabriella care for our dog, Mo, while we were out of town for five days visiting our son and his family. She was absolutely wonderful! Gabriella not only watched Mo, but also housesat for us, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. She showed a kind heart and genuine love for animals, paid close attention to detail, and asked thoughtful questions to fully understand Mo’s routine. She followed every instruction perfectly and went above and beyond—playing with Mo, taking him outside, brushing him, and sending us regular picture updates so we could see how happy he was while we were away. On top of caring for Mo, Gabriella kept the house clean and orderly. Her positive attitude, responsibility, and reliability made the entire experience stress-free. Most importantly, Mo clearly adored her—it was obvious he felt loved and cared for. We highly recommend Gabriella to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate pet and house sitter. We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided!”

“Ross has been absolutely incredible every time he’s cared for our dogs. He goes above and beyond—not only making sure they’re fed and have fresh water, but also taking care of administering medications without any issues. It’s such a relief knowing they’re in safe, capable hands. What really stands out is how much he genuinely cares. He spends quality time with them and treats them like his own, which means everything to us. Our dogs are always happy and comfortable when he’s around. We truly wouldn’t trust anyone else. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable, compassionate pet care.”

About: I want to point out first, I do work a full time job Monday-Friday and the hours are 7:30-4, so this is my side hustle! I wanted to be open and transparent before you book with me! I’ve owned dogs my entire life. I currently have a white lab/golden retriever mix that is just under a year old, her name is Maggie! I’ve taken care of friends and families pets since I was about 17. The animals I’ve watched have included dogs, cats, and guinea pigs! My favorites are my senior animals who just want to lounge but I love taking my younger ones to the park to play as well! I’m currently working full time during the week but available to pet sit or take care of them after work. I build in time to my daily schedule to accommodate walks, feeding time, and play time! I am more than happy to provide references from my other clients to help ease your mind. I also have experience in having to crate animals and keeping them separate if needed.

“Olivia was great!! Great communication, sent pictures and videos of our pup and was so helpful with our last minute booking. Will definitely be booking again for future needs, highly recommend to anyone searching for a sitter.”

“Julie was fantastic. She gave us updates and sent photos of our pups. Our dogs have specific needs and she took care of them both. They absolutely loved their time with Julie and we will definitely be using her in the future. Thanks Julie!”

“Janae did a great job with our pups. She was communicative and easy to work with. We received numerous pictures and updates throughout the day. I would highly recommend her in the future.”

“Katie is the absolute best! She took amazing care of our pup and our home. She goes above and beyond to provide plenty of updates and make sure your dog has a fantastic time. We couldn’t recommend her enough!”

“Amber was amazing! This was the first time we left our 3 mini dachshunds with anyone other than a family member and it was a great experience. Amber made sure all of our pups were well cared for and she stayed with them 100% of the time. She is a great dog person and our pups took to her immediately! She sent pics of all the pups cuddling with her! We couldn’t have found a better pup sitter! Already scheduled her for our next vacation!”

“Jessi was great. My dog really enjoyed her and her sweet dog. She took good care of my dog’s toenail that had been torn off. She made sure he wore his sock and washed his foot when necessary. One day they got sick and she got there quickly to take care of them, even though she was working.”

About: While i had a beagle for 8 years growing up and learned a lot from that, my extended family would frequently rely on me for taking care of the many dogs through the years whenever they had a trip planned. i essentially grew up alongside all of them. i also helped a friend while they were going through training a puppy for service work so understanding how to teach commands is a little easier nowadays and i might begin puppy care in the future. i am free in the afternoon through nights everyday my calendar shows. my full week advance notice time allows me to plan around my responsibilities at home. i have learned to convince rather than force our furry friends into doing things they'd rather not do, like crate naps for going out and teaching how not to jump and so on. i have a lot of practice watching my surroundings to watch and avoid potential dangers, so i will make sure that walks are safe, for us and others.

“We have used Tabitha for drop in visits in the past and recently used her for house sitting while we were out of town. She did a great job as always and provided updates and photos during her stay. We will continue to use her again!!”
About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life including small to large dogs. I am not a professional trainer but I have experience in training my own fur babies. My work is flexible where I can drop in for visits, take them out walking or just spend time playing with them. I can also board them, so that you can have a stress free vacation. They will have a fenced yard to play in and two buddies to play with. I will send lots of pictures and updates. To ensure safety, please have all vaccinations up to date and send me a copy, if possible. I also like to schedule a meet and greet prior to booking to ensure both parties are comfortable with the booking. It will also be an opportunity to address any concerns. I work full time but have the flexibility to work remotely. If your fur baby needs someone to be home all the time, I can accommodate that. I have a fenced yard. I have a 3 year old beagle mix and a 1 year old beagle. They are both very friendly and wants to make friends. I like to take them for walks and they get plenty of outdoor time and frequent potty breaks. We have a 4 month old baby, so I would prefer if your pets are good with kids.

Elizabeth stayed with our beagle Lilly for 2 nights and a full day. This was the first time we have left her. She is a rescue of having her 3 months. Elizabeth was very calm and attentive to Lilly. We felt confident leaving Lilly in her care. She will be back again soon. Lilly will be looking forward to seeing her again

Grace was an excellent pet sitter for our three cats. She was professional, responsible, and communicated clearly throughout our time away. We always knew how our cats were doing, which gave us peace of mind. She followed instructions carefully, was dependable, and treated our cats with genuine care. We would not hesitate to trust Grace again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive pet sitter

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Douglass Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Douglass Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Douglass Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
