About: My entire family has dogs, so I’ve grown up loving them and being around them. I had a dog of my own in high school, Oreo, a Pit Bull mix who was my first dog. I learned much of my hands-on training experience from working with Oreo and taking her to training sessions. I also spent over a year working as a receptionist at a dog grooming establishment. During that time, I built relationships not only with our human customers, but with their furry family members as well. I met dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, and I quickly became known by my coworkers as the “dog whisperer.” When customers came in and warned me that their dog might not take to me, I somehow always managed to get them to warm up to me. I can’t tell you how many times I heard, “They’ve never done that with anyone before!” from both owners and my coworkers. I’ve even been able to calm some of the most energetic and rowdy dogs with ease. I genuinely love dogs with my entire heart and have a huge soft spot for big dogs, especially Pit Bulls and German Shepherds. My experience has taught me how to work with dogs with different personalities and needs, and I love getting to know each dog individually. There’s never been a dog I couldn’t eventually win over, and I’m excited to bring that same care, patience, and “dog whisperer” magic to Rover! I currently work full time, but I live extremely close to my job—only about five minutes away—so I’m able to check on the dogs throughout the day. I’m open to using a dog camera to keep an eye on them while I’m away, if requested. On my days off, I’ll be home with them and able to give them my full attention throughout the day. My goal is to make sure every dog in my care feels safe, comfortable, and well-loved, even when their owners aren’t home. I live in an apartment with grass areas nearby where dogs can comfortably take bathroom breaks. I also have previous experience dog sitting for a roommate while living in an apartment, so I’m familiar with planning bathroom breaks around the time it takes to get outside. Dogs in my care will be free to roam the main living areas of my apartment, while bedrooms will remain closed off unless the dog is with me. I’ll also have a designated space for their belongings, including their crate, bed, toys, and anything else they may need to feel at home. I’m very flexible and want to maintain each dog’s routine as much as possible, especially when it comes to their training, feeding schedule, bathroom breaks, and other habits they’re accustomed to at home. My goal is to make their stay with me feel as comfortable and familiar as possible.
