About: I grew up LOVING dogs and cats and honestly all sorts of animals . I dont have any official training in veterinary practices, but I do feel I do know quite a bit of taking care of animals and making them feel safe and loved . I have two beagles I helped my father raise after we got them from a rescue and they are the best part of my life. I love animals I hope you consider me to animals sit so I can just spend time loving on animals. 😁👍 (I list my experience mainly caring for my beagles but I promise ive been caring for dogs for more than three years) I honestly love spending as much of my day taking care of dogs as I physically can, weather thats bringing them with me places, playing in the yard, or just giving pets. I always try to be with the animal (because as much is i love em sometimes they can get into trouble if not watched) I always make sure I know if foods are safe for animals first off no matter what if I dont know. Even if its treats honestly I still like to read for a second or two. Always make sure areas are safe too, make sure things are picked up so nothing can be grabbed by a doggo, and also if im letting them out to go potty I always keep track of where they are especially at night because things happen to fences all the time and dogs are smart.

About: I have been taken care of pets since I was about 13, Friends and Family have relied on me a lot to make sure that their animals are taken care of Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine because I have a one-and-a-half-year-old dog who keeps me active and on a consistent schedule. From morning walks and feeding times to play sessions and evening wind-downs, caring for him is something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize every day. It’s helped me stay organized, patient, and more in tune with the needs of animals, which carries over into how I care for other pets as well. I take time to understand each pet’s specific needs, from feeding schedules to preferred walking routes and playtime activities. About: Hi, I’m Jay, and my wife Cindy is a full-time mom to our teenage daughter and our dog. Cindy grew up on a farm, which sparked her lifelong love for animals and plants. Over the years, we’ve cared for two Havanese dogs and a yellow Labrador Retriever. We currently have a very sweet female Havanese who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Our daughter also loves playing with dogs and takes great care of them. We have a spacious, fenced yard where your small dog can play safely. We only accept hypoallergenic or non-shedding breeds. We generally welcome dogs weighing between 3 and 20 pounds and allow them to lounge on our couches. However, for safety reasons, we cannot accommodate aggressive dogs, so you may need to find another sitter in that case. Cindy is a full-time stay-at-home mom, so dogs in our care receive plenty of love, attention, and companionship throughout the day. Our whole family genuinely loves having dogs around, and we treat every pup as part of our family while they’re with us. We’re happy to provide dog beds, bowls, toys, and a crate if needed. We’re typically available 24/7 and always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Hello! I’m Jay’s wife, Cindy. I start my mornings at 6 AM by heading out to the backyard with the dogs, and I love making sure they’re well cared for throughout the day. Mealtime is one of my favorite moments with them, so if you have any specific requests regarding your dog’s food, please feel free to let me know anytime! When dogs visit for the first time, they often want to go outside to the backyard every 30 minutes to an hour. This is usually because they are curious and exploring their new environment, seeking comfort in open spaces, marking their territory, or simply adjusting their bathroom habits while settling in. I enjoy spending time outside with the dogs, watching them explore and playing fetch—especially when the weather is nice. Even when they’re just roaming around the backyard, I always keep an eye on them to ensure they’re safe. When it’s time for a nap, I let the dogs rest peacefully while I send updates to their owners. I love being home all day, sharing my time with the dogs and my family. Whether your dog loves to play, cuddle, or needs some extra attention, I always tailor their care to ensure they’re comfortable and happy. Caring for dogs has been a big part of my life. Over the past five years, I’ve raised and nurtured dozens of Havanese and Labrador Retriever puppies before helping them find their forever homes. I also have a passion for photography! With my background in film, video production, and visual effects design, I love capturing special moments of the dogs through photos. I’m always happy to adjust to your dog’s preferences and needs, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any special requests or questions!

About: I’ve had dogs and been a dog sitter my whole life and currently have 2 Golden Retrievers that I adore. My kids are in college so I’m an empty nester and housesit or dogsit for a million of my friends so I decided to try Rover. I work FTE from home so I’m home (your place or mine) 100% during the day. I love to go to dog parks and all dogs connect with me. Let’s chat! I work full time from home and have 3 dog breaks built into every workday. At 8, at Lunch and after work. I usually start the day with a dog walk, hit the dog park at noon (or just a regular walk if you aren’t a dog park person!) and after I feed my dogs we do another walk at night, along with potty breaks in between. My dogs are always with me—never outside without me and I’m big on giving them lots of potty times and walk time. I’m hyper vigilant with their care and well being
“Brianne sat for me last minute and took great care of my two dogs - a GSD and toy maltipoo. She was easy to coordinate with and sent photos and updates regularly which I appreciated! I'd happily rebook her.”

About: I've been caring for pets since I was 10, growing up with a variety of animals and learning the basics of pet care. However, at 18, my approach became much more serious when I adopted an 8 week old Great Pyrenees named Kodiak who had significant health, behavioral, and medical issues. This experience taught me a great deal about managing complex health challenges, addressing behavioral problems, and providing specialized care, which deepened my commitment to responsible pet ownership and caregiving. Animals have always had a special place in my heart and with Kodiak's ailments, I realized how difficult it can be to find high-quality pet sitters especially for pets requiring more assistance, patience, and time. I would love to provide reliable and trustworthy care to every and all pets, and if you have a dog who is a little more picky and high-maintenanced with who they allow in your home, then I would love to be the one to start building that trust with you and your pup. Thank you again for considering and trusting me to be part of your pups and your lives! Please reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns. :) I am self-employed so I have lots of flexibility in my schedule! I walk my own dogs 1-2x a day and love to exercise them especially in new places For boarding - I have a fenced yard with neighbors who also have dogs so barking is not an issue or concern. We live close to several fenced off-leash dog parks and public parks to allow additional room for your pup to roam! I also have made walks a priority first thing in the mornings and evenings with our current 2 dogs. For walking/check-ups- I promise to follow direct instructions and orders you provide. I promise to reach out to you directly if I have any concerns or questions on specific care, restrictions, permissions, etc. rather than assuming. I will make informed, safe decisions on your pets care if I cannot get in touch with you.

“Saige was amazing! She respected all of our specific requests, communicated exceptionally well, clarified things she wasn't sure about, and sent pics and videos. She really went beyond our expectations. Would definitely use again.”

“They did a great job watching our home and many animals. We got plenty of pics and updates to let us know everyone was doing well. House looked better than we left it. Definitely plan on using them again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 470 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dividend. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dividend walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dividend maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dividend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
