“Meretta is beyond amazing! This is the second time she’s watched our babies for us and we would recommend her to anyone!!! So thankful we found her to care for our babies when we’re gone. I highly recommend if you want your dogs taken care of and feel loved.”

“Kelsey was great. She kept us updated and sent pictures each day. She is very dependable and always responded quickly. She took great care of our Boston Terrier. We Will definitely have her watch him again.”

“Victoria did an amazing job watching Copper. She was very attentive to his needs and gave him plenty of exercise with a 1-2 mile walk every day. She gave him tons of love and potty breaks frequently.”

About: My husband and I have had dogs big and small growing up so we’re very familiar with their mannerisms, behavior and unique personalities. We’ve had our own dogs for four years and love them dearly, they’re our babies! I’m currently a stay-at-home mom so I am available and pretty flexible for the most part throughout the day. My dogs help me around the house as I get things done. I have a fenced in yard with two of my own dogs to keep yours company! Occasionally I let the dogs inside to hang out and eat, or depending on the weather to keep warm/cool. At bedtime I bring them in to sleep in their dog crate.
About: I have grown up with pets my whole life and always been the main person to take care of them. I love taking my dogs on walks and hanging out with them! I love all animals and I think they deserve the best care that one could give! I am used to being around dogs/cats of all ages from puppies to pretty old dogs I currently do not have a job due to just coming back from college in West Virginia, so I have a very free and flexible schedule! I have a fenced yard and I have two dogs of my own that would be able to keep your pups company if needed! They are extremely friendly, however I can also keep them separate from my dogs if requested.
“We couldn't have asked for a better sitter for our dog! Sammy treated our fur baby with so much love, patience, and genuine care. From regular updates and photos to thoughtful little touches, you could tell she truly cares about the well-being and happiness of the pets she looks after. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup and a spotless home. Highly recommend Sammy to anyone looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and kind.”

About: Need a sitter who truly understands dogs? I’ve had pets my whole life and currently raise a happy, 2.5 year old pup who is a total social butterfly. Your dog won't just get a attentive sitter—they’ll get a built-in playmate! I love reinforcing good manners and ensuring every dog feels safe, loved, and thoroughly entertained. I am currently on summer break from school and am home full time. Our days include playtime at home, walks around the neighborhood, and an occasional trip to the dog park. I have an unfenced grassy area outside my front door that we use for play. May dog is also always up for play. I am able to crate dogs if needed too.
“Mark was amazing with our 3 dogs. We were very hesitant to leave them with someone we didn't know for a week and a half. But, Mark was so great to come over beforehand to meet us and meet the girls to make sure it was going to be a good fit for everyone. Mark was great with asking questions and making sure he understood our expectations before we left. While at our house, he did all the dogs' favorite things with them - long walks, runs, rides in the truck, snuggles on the couch. He kept us posted with pictures and videos and updates. When we got home, he had the house looking even better than we'd left it. We will definitely be looking to Mark first whenever we need someone to care for our girls.”

“Christiana watched our two Rhodesian ridgebacks in our home. She was professional, respectful and communicated well during the entire stay. It felt good to know our dogs were in good hands. Highly recommend and would use again!”

About: I grew up with a spunky black lab who lived to be 16 years old. Now I get to live with my sibling and my dog-niece who I also hope lives a long, healthy, happy life! We've been housemates for a few years now. Gently combing her curly hair is my favorite. I have an adaptable flow where I can give a pet activity if they are young and need it, or take it easy if they are older. I work with a flexible schedule from my laptop between Salt Lake County and Utah County, so I can adapt to your needs too! I like to first ask what schedule or routine your pet is used to and see how closely I can match that and their temperament. I'm used to an easeful morning, getting sun during lunch, and then some other kind of outing later in the evening even if it's just a walk. I like to try to make it to a team meeting Thursdays and Fridays in Salt Lake. I can time it so I'm not gone for long, or I can reschedule meetings depending on the circumstances, commute, animal temperament, etc. I'm happy to come to your place or host your pet at mine. I'm in a condo so I'll limit my boarding services to one pet at a time. If it's possible for me to come to you and get acquainted with your pet before overnight stays, I'd prefer that for more easeful transitions. If you come to my place, my apartment complex has green spaces and waste bag dispensaries distributed throughout the property where I walk my dog-niece in the evening. But during the day the dog is away with my sibling and I'm all alone. So your pet will have my attention. I'll ensure pets have their own separate, undisturbed sleeping space. If I come to your space, then of course your pet will be most familiar and cozy.

I currently work from home, and occasionally run errands, but otherwise, I’m always nearby to attend to the pet’s needs. There’s always at least someone home to take care of our animals. I have a fenced backyard with shade. There’s plenty of space in the house to accommodate guests. My dogs are crate-trained and play well with other dogs.
About: I’ve taken care of many types of animals my whole life and I love being around them I have 3 dogs of my own and many other animals I am available whenever to house sit and walk at anytime I can’t do boarding simply because of my own animals. But I am able to help with anything else! I won’t be able to board but I am able to walk and play with any animal of any size or age at anytime of the day.
About: I grew up with dogs and love them more than people. I’m Patient, am experienced with senior pets, and administering oral meds and eye drops. I care for every pet like my own, with lots of love, snuggles, and personalized attention, ensuring comfort, safety, happiness, routines, playtime, and peace of mind always.** 🐾💖
“Liz was absolutely phenomenal with our pups while we were out of town. We have 1 wild dog that she took on walks and exerted her energy, and 1 anxious dog that she did great with keeping him company. I plan on contacting Liz again for future sits”

FAQs for House Sitting - West Mountain
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 925 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Mountain. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Mountain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Mountain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Mountain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Mountain. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
