“Samye was fantastic! She showed up right on time for our initial meetup, was incredibly easy to communicate with, and kept us updated regularly while watching Barbara. She was thoughtful, attentive, and left our home spotless. Having her stay at our place gave us real peace of mind, and we’d absolutely love to have her watch Barbara again!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs throughout my life and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. My experience includes feeding, walking, playing, maintaining routines, and providing plenty of love and attention. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions, administering oral medications if needed, and caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your pup! I’m available on weekdays until 4:00 PM, making me a great option for daytime walks or drop-in visits. I’m also available most weekends, so whether you need care during the week or a weekend getaway, I’d love to help. I have four fur babies of my own at home who I adore. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make it a priority to maintain their normal routine to reduce stress. I’ll follow all care instructions closely, including feeding, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any household requests. My goal is to make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and loved until you return.
About: I have grown up with pets my whole life and always been the main person to take care of them. I love taking my dogs on walks and hanging out with them! I love all animals and I think they deserve the best care that one could give! I am used to being around dogs/cats of all ages from puppies to pretty old dogs I currently do not have a job due to just coming back from college in West Virginia, so I have a very free and flexible schedule! I have a fenced yard and I have two dogs of my own that would be able to keep your pups company if needed! They are extremely friendly, however I can also keep them separate from my dogs if requested.
“Victoria did an amazing job watching Copper. She was very attentive to his needs and gave him plenty of exercise with a 1-2 mile walk every day. She gave him tons of love and potty breaks frequently.”

“Brody was professional, responsive, and communicative. He got along so well with my big, energetic dogs and took good care of our home. I’ll definitely book with him again!”

About: My husband and I have had dogs big and small growing up so we’re very familiar with their mannerisms, behavior and unique personalities. We’ve had our own dogs for four years and love them dearly, they’re our babies! I’m currently a stay-at-home mom so I am available and pretty flexible for the most part throughout the day. My dogs help me around the house as I get things done. I have a fenced in yard with two of my own dogs to keep yours company! Occasionally I let the dogs inside to hang out and eat, or depending on the weather to keep warm/cool. At bedtime I bring them in to sleep in their dog crate.
About: Need a sitter who truly understands dogs? I’ve had pets my whole life and currently raise a happy, 2.5 year old pup who is a total social butterfly. Your dog won't just get a attentive sitter—they’ll get a built-in playmate! I love reinforcing good manners and ensuring every dog feels safe, loved, and thoroughly entertained. I am currently on summer break from school and am home full time. Our days include playtime at home, walks around the neighborhood, and an occasional trip to the dog park. I have an unfenced grassy area outside my front door that we use for play. May dog is also always up for play. I am able to crate dogs if needed too.
About: I’ve cared for many kinds of animals since I was a child – dogs, cats, a bird, reptiles and amphibians, fish, even cattle. Wide variety and depth of experience. I currently work from home, and occasionally run errands, but otherwise, I’m always nearby to attend to the pet’s needs. There’s always at least someone home to take care of our animals. I have a fenced backyard with shade. There’s plenty of space in the house to accommodate guests. My dogs are crate-trained and play well with other dogs.
About: I have had dogs and cats and I have even had chickens of my own in the past. I will treat your pet with loving kindness. Working remotely allows me some freedom to come and go. I will take your pet for walks or even hikes if they will enjoy it. I will play with your pet and give them loving attention. Let me know what makes your pet happy and what level of attention they prefer.
About: I’ve had a lifelong passion for animals and truly enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and needs. I have years of hands-on experience owning, training, and caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels, including seniors and high-energy breeds. From a young age, I began regularly walking, training, and caring for neighbors’ pets after they saw how well-mannered and happy my animals were. I’m attentive, patient, and highly observant of animal behavior, which helps me create a calm, safe environment and respond to each dog appropriately. I’m also experienced in caring for cats and am comfortable managing a variety of temperaments and routines for animals of all kinds. Providing reliable, compassionate care and giving pet parents peace of mind is something I truly value, and I love building trust with both pets and their people and creating a genuine relationship! Every morning I take the pups on a walk or run, and on every day but Tuesdays and Thursdays, I do backyard playtime in the afternoon, then every day in the evenings is indoor playtime. And on the weekends, I love to take my dogs on long hikes, to the dog park, or to go swimming! Please note that I am a student, so there will be times when they will need to be alone and unsupervised, usually kenneled, but I make it a point to expend energy before and after an absence like that so they will want to nap whilst I am away. I am very experienced in interpreting dog behavior/body language and handling stressful situations. I value honesty and transparency, and you can be sure to expect pictures and videos! :) I am willing to feed, walk, water, and brush your animals. Whatever they need, I am up for it!

With over 10 years of professional doggy daycare experience, your dog's safety and happiness are my top priorities! Our private, secure facility features a fully fenced grass yard, fun dog ramps, and supervised fresh water pools for splashing. All dogs have constant access to fresh drinking water, plenty of shade, and get treated to delicious doggy cookies.
“Liz's care was everything a special needs dog required. Stella is not only a nervous nelly but her underlying medical condition requires she stay away from other dogs and gets her medication as prescribed. Liz was calming and caring for our Stella and for me who worried about leaving Stella with a new person. Liz followed the long list of instructions accurately and was right on time for Stella's meet and greet and for the start of the week's care. It was especially amazing that Liz was available over Christmas and cheerful about "working" during the holiday. She even was willing to stay longer for Stella's care when our return flight got canceled, and I was pleased she upheld her commitment to her next booking even though she was very sorry she couldn't extend for us. Our home was in excellent condition when we returned. Stella was happy and well cared for under Liz's care. Liz communicated and sent pictures daily. Stella and I will be looking Liz's way for Stella's care when I am out of town again.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my lifelong experience and genuine love for animals. I have had dogs since I was 8 years old and have personally cared for 3 dogs and 7 cats throughout my life. I also have experience pet sitting for multiple families and caring for pets with additional needs. For example, I have cared for dogs that required diapers and made sure they were regularly changed, clean, and comfortable. I am patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting to each pet’s unique routine and needs. I understand that pets are part of the family, and I will treat every animal in my care with the same love and attention I give my own. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I currently work at a group home supporting adults with disabilities, but my schedule is extremely flexible because I am able to set my own hours. This allows me to plan my work around the needs of the pets I care for and provide reliable, consistent attention. I am used to creating routines, being dependable, and giving animals the patience and care they deserve. Whether it’s morning walks, check-ins, feeding schedules, playtime, or spending extra time with a pet who needs companionship, I have the flexibility to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. Safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets. In a client’s home, I make sure to follow their routines and instructions closely so pets feel secure and cared for in their familiar environment. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, needs, and boundaries while providing plenty of attention, play, and affection. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a member of your family, so I communicate openly, provide updates, and treat every home with respect. I have years of experience caring for my own pets, pet sitting for families, and rescuing cats, which has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to handle animals with different needs and personalities. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away.

Pet care fits into my daily routine very nicely, I have such a chill relaxed and very flexible schedule that allows me to roll on my own time and allows me to do things I enjoy doing! I care for mine and/ or anyone’s animals with the most love and respect that I would treat a person. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 925 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across West Mountain. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Mountain walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Mountain maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Mountain choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
