“Lana was amazing with our pups! She went above and beyond to make sure they were happy and comfortable while we were away and she is a master dog walker! I would highly recommend Lana to anyone who's looking for a sitter that will give their fur babies extra TLC.”

About: In addition to living and caring for my own pets, my friends and family trust me with theirs. Lover so all things furry with beans I work from home and have time early mornings, on my lunch breaks, and after work to walk, feed, love and snuggle your fur babies. About: Hey there, I'm Katherine! I am a local photographer looking to make some extra income and meet some great furry friends. I am currently accepting bookings for all types of puppies and dogs. I have owned and cared for a variety of pups, such as Labradors, Chihuahuas, Great Danes, and more for the past fifteen years. I have self-trained all of my animals from potty training to new tricks.
“We were nervous hiring someone for the first time and Tina’s profile stood out. We met her in person before the services and she seemed like a wonderful person. She watched our cat for 2 days and we got so many pictures and videos. Our boy liked her from the moment he met her during meet and greet and I think she liked him too. Wonderful service and we highly recommend her. We are happy to have found someone that we can use again to watch our pets. Thank you Tina”

“Melissa was great! She had great communication throughout, sending me updates that gave me peace of mind. She followed all the care instructions and even got my shy cat who usually hides from new people to make an appearance! I could tell my cats were comfortable and well cared for. I’d absolutely book her again.”

About: I recognize the anxiety your pet experiences when you're not present and the challenge of finding a caregiver who will provide exceptional love and attention. I aim to ensure my new furry friend feels comforted and loved during this time, while also providing reassurance for their owners. Working remotely provides me with a flexible schedule, allowing for multiple visits and walks throughout the day to help fit your pets needs each day. Our family dog Ford has a life full of excitement, having 5 kids he gets a ton of love and attention. So when we’re gone on a trip I know he’s sad and lonely … I want to provide a safe and loving experience for your FUR baby as I know the feeling having to leave a big part of your family behind.
“Adrien was awesome with our cats Indy and Sully! They handled feeding, litter box duty, and even gave meds without any issues. We came home to two happy, relaxed cats and really appreciate the care Adrien gave them. Would definitely book with them again! Thank you!!”

About: From a friend I adopted Spooky, a black Halloween cat, more than thirty years ago. He slept curled against me every night for the rest of his long life. After my wife and I bought our first home together, we became a dog household and adopted Roxy from a local shelter, a shepherd husky mix. She stayed with us through her senior years. Since then, we've trained three doodle puppies and rescued Tiffany, a breeder mama. We cared for her all the way through her struggle with lymphoma. My schedule is rather flexible for Rover clients around gardening and practicing vocal music for my community choir. You get a substitute Pet Papa for your best friend, and I get to spend time with dogs and cats, while I earn a little extra income for gardening supplies and paining classes. It’s a Win-Win. Drop in visits for dogs and cats to feed, water and exercise. I can also give oral medications. Only one dog at a time for boarding and day care. Our three friendly doodles welcome your best friend to enjoy pack hospitality in our large, dog safe yard and home. Located in a quiet gated community. I’m happy to pickup and return your friend within ten miles. Rabbits and squirrels visit from nearby open space, so current vaccinations should include Leptospirosis.
About: I have worked at vet hospitals for 4+years and have cared for all ages. I have extensive experience with pets who need special attention, medication and sensitivities. I'm currently in between jobs so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets! I have grown used to pet sitting at a client's house even while working full-time so I know how to juggle responsibilities. I treat them as if their my own! I make sure I know their routine and allergies, if any, and always update the owner if something seems "off". I always make sure I have the contact of their veterinarian and if they do not have one, I will go to one I used to work at if close by.
About: I will provide the care that your pet deserves during your absence. Working in the medical field allows me to have extensive knowledge about CPR and handling/administering medications. I have great knowledge with basic training for different behaviors. Most importantly, I will give your pet the company and care that is required, daily walks, feeding, fresh water, medications, cleaning after them, and play time. I can provide a loving place to ensure their comfort when owners are away. I volunteered for the Peninsula Humane Society for over which helped me improve my skills by working with different breeds and types of animals ranging from dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas, turtles, and lizards. If you need the best care for your pet, look no further! Thank you
“Katie was absolutely awesome with our cats! We got daily check in messages and pictures of our cats. We highly recommend her services and will definitely have her watch our cats in the future! 😊”

I'm currently going to school to be a veterinarian so taking care of fur babies helps me stay motivated on my long journey. Right now my college is on summer break! So I'm free until night/evening time, when my team has practice for two hours, but other than that, I really don't do anything. Your fur babies will have my undivided attention! When I enter your home and meet your fur baby(ies) for the first time, I will give them the time and space they need to adjust to me. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Discovery Bay. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
