“Zachary is fantastic!! I wasn't sure how my dog Star would react to him coming in the house but he is really good with her and it helps me feel comfortable while I'm away from her.”

“Estefany was very attentive to our girl and went above and beyond. She even called my wife on our return home wishing us well. We have outdoor cameras and could watch her playing with our girl so that means she really was able to bond with her. We will definitely use her again.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life. As a child, I always wanted a pet but was frequently told no. As a teenager, a family member needed an indefinite pet sitter for his young schnauzer. I took care of his baby for 3 months and fell in love with being his provider. It was devastating when I had to return him back to his owner and my parents felt terrible. They finally saw the capable person that I was and gave me my own puppy to take care of! My mother and I were his sole caregivers up until he passed. His name was Panda. Right after school, I’d put his leash on him and would take him on lively walks. I taught him how to do tricks, even roll over! He was mostly in for the treats. I took him on my long car rides where he mostly slept in the backseat but you could tell how much he loved it. I am very serious about safety so of course he had a seatbelt. Towards the end of his life, he became sick. It was like he became a senior in one singular, sudden day. He had a plethora of medications and supplements that he needed to take that I became responsible of. I was also the spokesperson for him during his scary vet appointments. Needless to say, I will take good care of your pet. Whether they are a puppy or a senior, I have it handled. I lived a life where I was able to fully love my boy and it would be a token to him that I take care of your babies. I am currently not working so I am mostly free from Monday-Thursday from early morning to sunset. I am very selective about my time from Friday-Sunday but I can always make space for your fur baby with proper communication! I do not have the space in my home to take care of your pet but I can always go to yours! I am a rule-follower so whatever you tell me, I will gladly do. No matter how specific.

“We have all noticed the positive results in our pup since Michele has been visiting her for her outings. Our fur baby appears relaxed and happy instead of stressed with anxiety. Thank you, Michele.”

“Cheyanne took good care of Shelby, Windsor, and Regina George. She completed the drop-in visits, followed our feeding instructions, and sent photo updates throughout the weekend. After an address mix-up at the start, she still came to the correct house and took care of the dogs. They were well looked after.”

“Monica is the best! I know my kitties receive excellent care when she's there. I love how she gets to know my cats, and I can tell she sincerely loves them! And the pictures she sends are so appreciated. Monica is the best!”

About: I am not shy to large dogs or animals in general. I do not judge dogs based on size. All dogs deserve love no matter their looks, age, or size. I’ve had bully breeds all my life and have grown accustomed to being around them. Cats I just adore too, whether they’re cuddly, or shy, I’ll be sure to treat them with respect. One thing I can say for myself is that I hope you’re okay with me giving your pets treats! Please let me know what treats your pets enjoy and I will provide them. :) My schedule is flexible and very open at the moment, all I ask is that you request the day before. If it’s last minute request however I’m open to listening to you if you really need a last minute sitter as I know things happen. What I have always been taught is to leave a space cleaner than you found it. This also may include your pet if you would like them bathed I do not mind at all. If I was to stay overnight as well do not think for one second there would be a crumb left from myself. I do not believe in leaving trash or dishes in a sink, or making myself “too at home.” I have a lot of experience in housekeeping, as my friends and families typically ask me to watch their homes for them.

“She was absolutely wonderful. Very sweet, and tentative to our animals. We feel that she went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend her services. And we will definitely use her in the future.”

“Vanessa keeps to her word, on time and efficient. Vanessa goes beyond what was requested for the drop in visits. Vanessa’s updates keeps us informed. We felt at ease knowing are pet is taken cared of while away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Desert View Highlands
Caitlin came through for us on very short notice and took phenomenal care of our pups. She was patient and understanding with our rescue and knew exactly how to navigate our other dog’s separation anxiety. The dogs warmed up to her immediately, and knowing they were in good hands gave us total peace of mind. We cannot recommend Caitlin highly enough and will definitely be booking her again!

Estefany was very attentive to our girl and went above and beyond. She even called my wife on our return home wishing us well. We have outdoor cameras and could watch her playing with our girl so that means she really was able to bond with her. We will definitely use her again.

Emily thank you so much for Lunas care. You really take pride in assisting help for Luna and the peace of mind you give me. My Luna is very happy and I can see it. You take initiative and the 3rd time was a charm-she was behind gate when I got home. Great job!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
