ââď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ Highly Recommended Dog & House Sitter! We couldnât be happier with the care our dog and home received! Our sitter was reliable, communicative, and truly treated our pup like family. We got regular updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. The house was spotless when we returned, and our dog was calm, happy, and clearly well-loved. If youâre looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring, look no further. We will absolutely be booking again!â

âI highly recommend Anna for any of your pet care needs. She recently completed an 2day overnight, to take care of my two (senior) English Bulldogs, who have quite the personality! She treated them like princesses, ensuring they didnât break their routine. She was a great communicator to me - providing updates, asking questions and sharing many pics! The girls and her even did a photo shoot! Anna is kind, extremely thoughtful and detail-oriented and she was a fantastic steward of the house, as well leaving a small bouquet of wild flowers to welcome me home. The girls and I can wait to see her again.â

âKevin is a super nice guy. I am so glad we have him in our dogs lives and ours. I will take him anytime. He did a great job with our pups. They seem very happy.â

I will definitely be having Candice watch them again and would recommend her to anyone who needs an excellent pet sitter!â

âJaden went above and beyond to care for our 2 dogs and cat for an entire week! We all felt comfortable and safe from the first meeting and throughout the week. Excellent communication and much appreciated help!â

âCassidy has does drop in visits for us before so it was nice to have her when we needed someone to house-sit our dogs for us. Sheâs amazing with them, and the dogs Iove her! She sends pictures, and keeps us afloat on our girls so we arenât worrying about it them. We use her as often as we can, whenever she is available!â

âI must absolutely RAVE about Madison because she took such amazing care of our pets with incredible, consistent communication! Extra special shout-out because our dog, unfortunately, got sick while under Madison's care, and Madison kept me informed of our dog's behavior, current status, and cleaned up all of the messes so thoroughly! We love her and I HIGHLY recommend her!!!â¤ď¸â

âTeagan was great as a house sitter and for watching my cat Moo. They were respectful, communicative, understanding, and took plenty of pictures so I could relax while I was on vacation knowing Moo was safe and happy. I especially appreciated the little gift I came home to. I recommend them highly!â

âWe feel so lucky to have Julie take care of our old girl while we are away. She is very attentive to her needs and always lets us know if there is anything of concern.â

About: Iâve have taken care of dogs since I was little. I currently own a dog of my own. Iâm good with all kinds of dogs, rescues especially. In my free time I volunteer at the animal shelter to give them the love they unfortunately donât receive. I have an easy and flexible schedule. Iâm typically available to check in with your pets every 2-4 hours during the weekends, and every 4-6 hours during the weekdays. I can crate your animal based on your preference. I do not have a fenced in yard, however I take my dog on a trail everyday to make sure he gets all the exercise he needs. I can handle large and extra large dogs even ones that pull on a leash.
âI recommend Dani to take care of your fur babies, I was very nervous leaving my fur baby and she took such good care of him as if he was her own. We will definitely use her again.â

About: I have watched all kinds of animals I have been trusted by family neighbors and friends since I was 10 to watch & care for there pets! I have one person I recently start watching for and he told me I am one of the only people he trust with his animals and house𼰠I normally do it around my work schedule! I will make sure they are left out before I go to work and as soon as I get out of work if itâs on a work day! I have a 1 year old German shepherd she is a big loving baby and gets along with everyone and all animals! She is very energetic and she has a big yard to run around in!
âFrances stayed in my home and took care of my fur baby Samson while I was traveling for work overseas. She took such good care of my baby, sending me updates throughout the day with thorough details and photos. My Sammy requires some special care with medicine and food and she was certain to do everything perfectly and on his regular schedule. She really made my travel less stressful because I was never worried about Sammy. She really cared for him and loved him like he was her own. She also took great care of my home. I will definitely be using Frances again in the future and I would highly recommend her for taking care of your fur babies and an in home stay.â

âHaylee was amazing ! Provided excellent service kept me updated the whole time and always checked in with me and sent me pictures. I will most definitely be booking again with her.â

âBillie is definitely one of my favorite rover sitters to date! She was highly responsive during the booking/meet and greet process and very communicative throughout the duration of the stay. We received multiple updates a day with multiple photos which definitely put us at ease since one of our dogs can sometimes shut down a little while we are away. Billie did great with both of our dogs and even the one who typically hides while we are gone was a big fan - he was out and social most of the stay. Billie also left our house immaculate. Cannot give her enough praise, will definitely look to book more of our sittings with Billie in the future.â

Hanna was fantastic! We needed someone to care for our pets on short notice, and she was able to help. She made time for a meet-and-greet and followed all of our instructions meticulously. We have older cats that require medication, and she handled their care exceptionally well. Hanna also kept us updated by sending photos and communicated with us in a timely manner. We will definitely book her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deodate walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deodate maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deodate choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deodate. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
