“What an outstanding experience with Michele! She was so patient and loving with our boy. We received several updates and pictures during her time with Bob; not sure if we could ask for anything better. Would highly recommend!”

“We had such a great experience with Emily! Taking care of three animals is no small task, but she handled everything with so much care, attention, and professionalism. From the start, communication was excellent — we always felt informed and reassured while we were away. It was clear our pets were not only well taken care of, but genuinely cared for. Each of them has their own personality and needs, and Emily took the time to understand and meet all of them. We came home to happy, relaxed pets and a well-kept home, which says everything. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend Emily to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and trustworthy pet sitter!”

“Once again I was relieved and felt confident that my dog Walter was in good hands while I was away on vacation. Walter can be anxious with different people, but Amanda knows how to handle him. I definitely plan to use Amanda's services again in the future.”

“Heidi was the best!! Highly recommend her for all your fur baby needs. She sent me lots of pictures of my baby, to see how spoiled she was and well taken care of. . My house was immaculate when I came home. The fact that she kept in touch with me the whole week made my vacation very relaxing without any worries. I will definitely use Heidi again!”
About: Hi! I am a licensed veterinary technician whose passion has been pets and animals my whole life! Before I was an LVT, I worked at a well known doggy daycare and boarding facility while I was in college. Even before that, I would pet sit for friends and family. I have experience with dogs, cats (I’m a crazy cat lady at heart), pocket pets (guinea pigs, rats, hamsters), farm animals, and the occasional snake! I’ll love your fur babies like my own! I currently work in Portland Tuesday-Friday 7:30-6pm. I would love to take care of your pets outside these hours if that fits their lifestyle! I have reliable transportation to come to your home and take care of your pets! I will follow any specific directions you have for your pet, their safety and comfort is my priority. I am knowledgeable on animal behavior and will treat them as if they were my own pet to make sure they get the best treatment! At this time, I cannot take pets into my own home.
About: I’m Cody! I grew up with 3 dogs, and I worked at a dog daycare for over a year. I’ve done on and off pet-sitting and walking through craigslist and friends over the years as well. I have 2 cats and a rabbit at home, so I’m good with all different types of animals. I can do pet sitting, check ins, and walks. I have a car with a large backseat so I could also transport your pet to a park or a preferred walking trail if you’d like. I am available weekday mornings before 8am and afternoons after 4pm. My weekends are completely open! Thank you for considering me to hang out with your pets and I hope to hear from you soon! Cody
About: My experience includes puppy training and group integration, command training, end of life palliative care, medicine administration, grooming, and lots of recreation/enrichment/engagement! As for dog types all are fur babies and I'll see that they are treated as such! Currently in-between full-time employment, ready to devote my time to the lovely care of our fur companions. I tend to be free on the weekends and the beginning of the week. I follow set instructions laid down by the owners, any preferences or quirks of individual pets will be accommodated for your pets' and your family comfort.
“Liz did an amazing job with Gizmo. She entertained her and got her out for fresh air several times during her watch. I would have Liz watch Gizmo again if I’m ever in the area.”

“We had Rhonda spend a night with our older boy Lincoln. She was a wonderful dog/house sitter. She replied immediately to our short notice request and communicated with texts and pics during her stay. Lincoln was in good hands and we would highly recommend her sitting services. Thnx Rhonda!”

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing care Trie provided for our 13-year-old Maltipoo. He has a tough time with separation anxiety and often struggles with eating when we're away, but Trie was absolutely incredible with him. She stayed by his side, took him on several walks a day, and knew exactly how to encourage him to eat. Trie sent us frequent updates and lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. For the first time, we were able to truly relax on vacation knowing our fur baby was in such loving hands. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, kind, and attentive — exactly the kind of person you’d hope to find to care for your pet. We’ll definitely be booking with her again for any future travel!”

“We are so happy to have found Rachel! We have an older dog and were worried about leaving her with someone new but Rachel was great with her. Would absolutely recommend!”

“I highly recommend John! He asked questions to clarify my dogs needs, sent regular updates and even shared photos. His attentiveness allowed me to enjoy my few days out of town without worrying about my 2 senior dogs.”

About: I've had dogs all of my life. All of my dogs I rescued, Rosco from North Carolina, Athena from Puerto Rico, Otis a Maine resident (my other half best friend) ,Piglet from Georgia and Thia from Saint Thomas. I've always had a love and special way with dogs. It's all about time and patience they are 4 legged kids. Ive introduced a senior dog who was not fond of other dogs to his new sister and they lived happily in the house together. I've had alot of experience with senior dogs dealing with hip issues and mobility. I am also a pitbull mom so I know all about their attitude. I have went through obedient school and have learned alot and plain on continue training not just for my self but for the dogs we have to be trained just as much as they do. I'm currently working 7 to 3 M-F but have time at night and on weekends in my daily schedule that I would love to fill and what better way then spending with animals. I treat my pets as if they are kids because they are my kids! I'm a dog mom. My dogs have a fenced in back yard they always run around in.

“The best dog/house sitter ever! Our dog was very loved and the house was spotless when we returned! She was also very good about keeping us updated with pictures of our pup when we were away. We will definitely use Maggie in the future!”

“Ievet was fantastic with our two pugs and kept us well informed about how they were doing throughout the weekend. We received lots of pictures and had tremendous piece of mind that our dogs were safe and well while we were attending an out of state funeral. Our planned dog sitter cancelled on us at the last minute and Ievet was quick to respond to our request.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Denmark
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 237 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Denmark. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Denmark walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Denmark maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Denmark choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Denmark. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
