“Carrie was great with my cats and made sure they had everything they needed while I was away. Highly recommend her. She was on time, spent time visiting and giving them affection and it was reassuring to know they had some companionship while I was gone.”

“Emily was wonderful. Stella is very shy, but she didn’t hide when Emily came. We were very pleased with the care Emily gave Stella. We will definitely have Emily come the next time we’re gone.”

“Elaina did a great job watching my dog Ekko for a long weekend while I was away, and provided clear communication. Would definitely recommend her to any friend in need of a pet sitter!”

“Maddie was wonderful with our cat Ginny! She sent me daily updates & pics of her. When we returned from vacation our cat seemed very content & was well taken care of. I would highly recommend her!”

“Cathy has been awesome with our pup Lulu, she goes above and beyond to make sure everything goes smoothly!! Lulu absolutely loves Cathy and her daughter, she always sends pictures and updates throughout the visit as well!”

“Karlina did an excellent job with our spicy cat who wasn’t feeling his best! I think she’s great for those of us who have special needs kitties. Linus might not have shown appreciation for her efforts, but I will!”

“Molly was kind and attentive to our doggies. She was always on time or a little early which is great for us and she is a great communicator. Will recommend her to others and definitely book again in the future! Thank you again Molly!!”

About: I have been providing pet sitting services for at least 15 years now for our various personal family friends and others. I love animals and have had pets my whole life. They are my fur babies, and yours will be treated the same! I am a recently retired mom and grandma who has two fur babies. I can provide my own transportation, and I’m available all throughout the day for various times as needed. I would be happy to help you with your fur baby needs. I plan to provide pet care in my client’s home and keep to the same schedule they are used to. It is my goal to make sure they are comfortable and safe before I leave from the visit.

“April did a great job caring for our 2 cats. Communication was easy, she consistently sent us updates and pictures, and the cats received full care. What I especially appreciated is that she did not just come in, but also spent the full half hour playing with them and giving them some love. Would recommend!”

“First time using Rover and Rita was the perfect person to stop in and check in on my two cats! She went above and beyond in making sure the cats litter was cleaned, they had plenty of food, play time, and even sweeping up spilled cat food/fur! Rita made sure to send lots of pictures, giving me a peace of mind while away! Definitely plan to keep using Rita as a pet sitter!”

“Brittany took great care of our pets! She has a calming energy and a natural way with animals. She did an excellent job of communicating with us and sending pictures of our pups while we were away, putting us at ease knowing they were in good hands!”

“Everything was perfect. Ellen sent daily updates and pictures. Great communication. Spent time getting to know my fur babies and gave them lots of love. I highly recommend.”

“Ariel was awesome at letting Rocky out today! Since he's gone blind she is the first one (not family) to come in a let him out. He ate while she was here, which is something he rarely does for even family when we aren't home. He also requests much more rubs and scratches now so I'm pretty sure she has spoiled him for good!!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 14 years old and have always had a genuine love for pets. Over the years, I’ve helped care for a variety of animals, including cats, ferrets, and dogs through pet sitting and house sitting for neighbors and family friends. I also have a 9 year old Border Collie/Lab mix of my own, who I’ve cared for and grown up with. Pet care is something I do on the side because I truly enjoy being around animals and building bonds with them. I’m dependable, attentive, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I currently work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet sitting, drop-in visits, and walks. Since caring for animals is something I genuinely love, I enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m open and adaptable to different pet care needs and always happy to help however I can! House sitting and overnight stays are available on a case by case basis depending on each pet’s needs, routine, and care requirements. My goal is always to provide reliable, loving care while making sure both pets and owners feel comfortable and confident. I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for by being patient and understanding with their individual personalities and needs. With my own dog and other pets I’ve cared for, I’ve learned that building trust takes time, so I never force interaction. I let pets come to me at their own pace so they can feel comfortable and secure in their environment. Creating a calm, loving, and stress free atmosphere is always my priority.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Delaware
Thank you so much for taking care of our boys! We had zero stress about traveling away from them which is hard because Wilbur definitely gets Seperation Anxiety but he was super happy to see us and he is being more and more social with everyone now that we keep introducing him to other people. Stewie was also doing great and had zero issues with anything. Molly was wonderful and we would recommend and use her again.

Elaina took wonderful care of Annie while we were away! She was reliable, attentive, and followed all of our instructions perfectly. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Annie was well cared for while we were gone. We came home to a very happy kitty! We would absolutely book with Elaina again and highly recommend her! Thanks so much, Elaina!

Cathy is the best pet sitter! My cat Tigger loves her. She is patient and kind. I don’t know what I would do without her! He takes medication and is 16 years old. I needed someone responsible and she is the best! Thank you Cathy! Tigger says”thank you” too.

Emily always does an amazing job, I have no worries knowing she is caring for my cats while I’m away! She goes above and beyond just the cats, also helping care for my house/plants as well. You can tell she actually enjoys spending time with them and helping out!

I could not have asked for a better dog and cat sitter! From start to finish, they were attentive, reliable, and genuinely caring with both of my animals. My pup was walked every single time, and it was clear those walks weren’t rushed—they really took the time to make sure our pup was happy and well cared for. The updates were absolutely amazing—thoughtful, detailed, and reassuring, with plenty of insight into how both animals were doing. It made being away so much easier knowing they were in such good hands. You can tell this Maddie truly loves animals and treats them like their own. I came home to happy, relaxed pets, which says everything. Highly recommend and will absolutely be booking again! 🐶🐱💙

Lydia is a wonderful pet care provider!! This is our second booking with her to care for our two cats, Oliver and Nadia. Recently, Oliver has struggled with IBD and Lydia provided extra care to assure us that Oliver was still on the road to recovery. We highly recommend Lydia for your pet care needs!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Delaware. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
