“Gilian introduced Logan to her space and observed him with her own dogs during our initial meet and greet. After that introduction I felt confident Gilian would be the perfect dog sitter. I could tell that she was tuned in to how Logan responded to her environment and to her other dogs . She demonstrated understanding with regard to caring for a senior dog . Gilian is flexible, kind, appropriate, patient, communicative, responsive and experienced. I loved the photos and daily summaries I received while Logan stayed with her. I will not hesitate to leave Logan with Gilian during my future travels.”

“Halligan was such a great host with our German shepherd. She sent fantastic and welcomed updates every morning. She got our dog out frequently and was so amazing. We will be booking with her again!”

“Yolanda was amazing to work with! She is a consummate professional and did everything she could to make sure my wife and I felt comfortable with our pup being in her care. We know our pup is in great hands with Yolanda!”

“Josh and Cheryl were absolutely incredible with our dog, Tuck. He’s a high-energy, challenging pup who needs a lot of stimulation, and they went above and beyond to make sure he was well cared for, engaged, and happy. They were attentive, active, and cared for him like their own. When his collar broke, they even bought him a new one without hesitation—such a thoughtful gesture that speaks to how much they truly care. We also loved receiving regular updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We couldn’t recommend them more highly—if we could give more than 5 stars, we would!”

“Cortney was really accommodating and great with Bo. Also prompt in communicating and shared pictures and a video of Bo during his stay. Her dog was a great playmate for Bo and he had a blast. I would recommend Coutney!”

“Luana is loving caring individual and takes pride in taking cate of your fur baby making sure my dog was a priority. Sends great pictures to provide updates. I will definitely recommend.”

“Angela and her family watched our dog for a week while we were on vacation. Angela was very courteous and great to work with. She has a big fenced in yard and two friendly dogs. She sent lots of pictures with daily updates. Our dog seemed very happy with her family and we wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. Thanks Angela!”

“Paul did an amazing job watching our pup! He "warned' us that he would try to exceed our expectations, and no question he absolutely did. We loved all the updates with photos, and the numerous offsite visits to parks was so fun to see. So comforting while we were such a long distance away. We'd recommend Paul to anyone!”

“I feel great leaving my dog overnight with Sherry! I appreciate her eagerness to learn my dog’s needs and any specific instructions, and that she’s got a great yard to play in! Would highly recommend and return for care in the future.”

“Christine and her husband were great. Our dog had a good time and was so tired out when we picked her up. They sent pictures each day and kept us up to date. Thank you again!”

“Kelly took care of our Rocky so well. Rocky had a bit of a health concern that we were able to resolve over the phone without going to the vet, but she was ready to go if need be. That meant a lot to me. I would highly recommend her.”

“Riley had such a great experience, and I truly can’t say enough good things. Communication was amazing from start to finish, and she was so flexible when our flights changed, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. She even sent pictures without us asking which we absolutely loved and really appreciated. Her kids and mother were incredibly kind and Riley also got along so well with their dog, Annalise. Riley isn’t around other dogs very often, so I was a little nervous, but they did great together and it made me so happy to hear how well she adjusted. Honestly, the whole experience felt so comfortable… like I’ve known them for a long time. That says a lot when you’re trusting someone with your dog. I would absolutely use them again without hesitation. I think Riley may have even found herself a new best friend 🐾”

“Katie was a wonderful sitter! Ziggy came back seeming happy, healthy, and even a little worn out which we were happy to see :) Katie sent us some adorable pictures of our dog while we were gone which we were very happy to receive. Also, she was flexible with our drop off and pick up times. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better first experience with Rover.”

“Cari and her family did a wonderful job taking care of Russell. He got lots of walks, plenty of play time, and tons of snuggles. He especially liked playing with the girls. Will definitely use her again.”

“Brittni & family were the best dog family we could ever ask for! Luna got along great with their dogs and kids. Brittni sent pictures of Luna with the family and out on walks. Highly recommend!”

“I’m still fairly new to Rover, and it was truly a pleasure having Karlee watch my Shorkie while I was out of town. She sent updates whenever I requested them and gave my dog a new opportunity to be around a cat, which I really appreciated. What stood out most was how well Karlee was able to understand my dog’s personality. It showed that she genuinely took the time to get to know her and accommodate her individual needs. I truly appreciate the care she provided, would absolutely recommend her, and would definitely request her again!”

“Auria was amazing. Just like everyone has said, she is very responsive and took great care of our dog Georgia. She even sent pics and a note before I asked how it was going. I think she knows that leaving our pets is not easy so she made it as comfortable as possible so we could go away and enjoy our weekend. I definitely recommend her!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Decker home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Decker.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Decker sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
