Four Paws Inn--A dog park experiencBelgium, WI

My 3 teenage boys and I have been watching dogs on Rover for 8 years and enjoy making your pup happy and secure during your absence. I teach in Milwaukee so have breaks and summers free to play with doggie visitors all day, but we also watch dogs throughout the year. We have five acres with several huge fenced areas to run and play, and several rooms where your pet can securely lounge on the couch and watch TV all day. Rover dogs stay in the house itself, and will often stay in a room in the kennel when we are gone. Although we have boarding kennels here also, we are 99% cage free with our Rover dogs. Dogs are encouraged to socialize and to make friends during their stay with us. Meet and greets are welcomed and encouraged.

We can also offer doggie daycare services during the summer months to protect your pet from the heat and over holidays.

About this sitter:

Hello. I am a public high school teacher in Milwaukee and a breeder of AKC registered purebred Siberian Huskies. I have been working with Rover in Milwaukee for more than six years and have enjoyed nearly every dog we have brought into our home. Looking towards retirement now, I realize I would rather play with dogs all day than deal with students for another 12+ years! So last year my three teenage sons and I moved to the country to open a pet boarding facility called "Four Paws Inn" as my early retirement project. We now have 5 acres surrounding our home with seven separate large fenced-in parks for dogs to run, chase balls, wander and play and with no neighbors to tell me my dogs are being too loud. LOL. It truly is a big dog's dream vacation place! Although we do have standard boarding kennels here, our Rover dogs are given free roaming rights in one of our family rooms throughout their stay and as much exercise and cuddle time as is possible.

Why I love dog sitting

I grew up with a little Poodle, but I wanted a big dog. I had my first big dog in college which instilled a love of Siberian Huskies and an appreciation of the larger breeds. I have been breeding Siberian Huskies for eight years now and have a very open, dog-friendly environment in my home and my life. Every dog has interesting personality traits or things they do that will always make me laugh so they are a true joy to be around. Taking them out to run is one of the best part of dog sitting...to let a big dog run and run and run and run (or wander, sniff, wander, sniff) until they give you that exhausted look that says...thanks, but I have had enough! And then they are my best friend forever as they fall fast asleep laying next to me on the couch, only to wake up soon after with a goofy grin that says they want to do it all over again.

About my yard

We now have seven fenced in grass yards with 7 foot chain link fencing around several which makes it very secure and allows dogs to play among dogs of their size and temperment. However, we still do not leave dogs unattended out in the yards or with other dogs we may be watching. Although a boarding kennel where we do board pets, we do live here and will not cage/kennel our Rover dogs except at the owner's request.

My experience administering medication

Yes. We have bribed many dogs to take their pills usually with peanut butter and we vaccinate our own puppies, so medications are not an issue for us.

Dogs feel at home here!Cedarburg, WI

I love creating an environment where your dog feels comfortable and loved. I have been a dog lover since I was a little girl and have owned and loved dogs most of my adult life. I live in my own home which has a big fenced backyard and is in a great dog-walking neighborhood. My dog, Shadow, is a 42-pound rescue who likes just about everybody, whether they have two legs or four.

My ultimate goal as your sitter is to make your dog as comfortable as possible, and I will do my best to replicate your home routine. If you allow your dog on the furniture, that's okay with me. If not, I'll follow your preferences. Your dog can be inside or out (and supervised of course), depending on what makes them happy and the weather. I'll make sure there is a walk every day.

As a pet owner myself, I understand how hard it is to leave your dog in the care of someone else. I rescued my dog Shadow from a shelter, she was very sick and in desperate need of some TLC. With patience, love and some advice from my vet, she became the playful girl she is today. I promise to treat your dog just like I do Shadow--as part of my family.

I am mostly retired so I will have plenty of time to

give your dog the attention they need. I am really looking forward to meeting and spending time with your dog!

Please note: My strong preference is to have dog(s) from only one family at a time. That makes it easier to provide the level of attention and care that I want to give. However, at times when people really need a place for their dog, and when I have met the dogs and verified that they have the temperament to mix well with other dogs, I may take dogs from multiple families. I will always separate them when I am not home to supervise them. When I've done this in the past it has worked out very well (although my house gets dirty a lot faster!)

I prefer to take dogs who are crate trained, and it is awesome if you can bring your dog's crate. One last thing: my back yard has a 4 foot fence. If your dog is a jumper, and can clear four feet, let's talk it over. I want to be sure I can keep him/her safe and happy.

Pet Sitting My House or Yours!Cedarburg, WI

We are dog lovers and have had dogs all of our lives. As a family we have also worked in dog rescue for quite a while, so have really dealt with a lot of personalities in our home. We love our dogs like they are our kids. We'd love to provide the same love to your pets while you are away. Leaving your pets can be hard, but it doesn't have to be. We are happy to come to your house so they don't have to be disrupted. We would be happy to come and let them out a few times a day or stay overnight with them. Your fur kids will be treated like our own.

I have 2 kids that are 15 and 17 at my house so not really kids anymore and my husband at home. My husband and I primarily provide the care both in our house or yours. Sometimes we enlist the kids' help for walks :) We have 3 labs at home who do well with other dogs. We will typically only take 1-2 dogs into our house at a time. We work as a team to provide care for the dogs in our home. We love to share the experience as a family. If you need dog walking, we are happy to work with you as a family team if it's during the day while I'm at work. I do work full-time so I'm away during the day, but my husband works from home when he's not traveling.

We love spending time with all of the furry kids we've had the chance to meet. Whether it's our house or yours, they are loved. Give me a call and let's chat about how we can help you!

We'd love to get to know you and your fur babies!

Snuggles, Walks and TreatsOostburg, WI

Having a house full of Dogs myself, I know the worry that a pet owner has about what to do with your fur babies during vacation. I will provide a fun, loving and caring environment for your dog so you can have a worry free vacation or time away. Dogs stress less when their regular routines are not disrupted. Being able to have the choice to keep them in their own home relieves some of the stress while you are away. Burning energy through walks and play also helps reduce the stress. Play and games take your dog’s mind off of your absence. Games that make them think and work which helps burn energy and stress. When you arrive back at home, your dog will be happy and well cared for.

We love pets!GRAFTON, WI

Hi, I'm Katie. I have over 20 years experience working in the veterinary industry and also have a degree in Animal Science. I'm a married mother of three girls, and we have two very friendly dogs. During my time working for veterinarians I have gained a wealth of knowledge about animals and their care and am comfortable with all different types of animals. I am also comfortable with giving medications or other special needs your pet may require. I like to be as accommodating as possible to my clients, and will work around any special needs or requests you may have. Your dog will be a member of our family while you are gone. We love pet sitting and we will do everything we can to make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible. If I am visiting your pet in your home I will happily learn your routines and take care of your pets just as you do. I will also bring in mail or water plants if requested. I look forward to the relationships I'll build through pet-sitting and hope to meet your and your pet soon!

All pets must be up to date on vaccinations, as well as be on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

Home full-time w/large fenced yard!Cascade, WI

I am a retired dog lover who is able to care for dogs in my home on a full-time basis. I am understanding about the needs of dogs - their need for love, security, and the feeling that the person they see as "mom" will always be there to nurture and care for them. Cody and Molly are both rescue beagles I have adopted from shelters, and they light up my life. Any dogs I care for in my home will be treated with the same devotion and love as I give my own two beagles. Choosing my home as the "home away from home" will ensure a calm, loving atmosphere for your dog as opposed to the sometimes noisy and unsettling environment of a kennel.

I walk my dog a Bavarian Mountain Hound 2 to 3 times a day. I love to be outside with my dog. My husband and I are retired so someone is always at home to be with the dog. I have had dogs since I was a girl. Living inPort Washington allows me to easily walk dogs along the lakeshore or in the many parks we have. We also have many trails for walking. Many other folks with dogs in the neighborhood. We also have a place on a lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan which is also a very dog friendly area offering many possibilities for exercise. We spend most of the time from May until November in the Upper Peninsula. Look forward to sitting your dog.

We have a medium unfenced yard and plenty of doggie beds, crates, bowls, and blankets for every dog. Every dog we watch gets treated like our own. We strive to keep at at home atmosphere so we limit availability to one family at a time. We try to keep things similar to their home life so they are at a low stress level.
