“Patty took great care of our dog Remy in our house! It was the first time we went away since we moved a year and a half ago, and we really appreciated Patty coming by for a meet and greet before we left. Patty kept in touch while we were away and sent us photos and updates of Remy so we knew she was happy and getting lots of love! Highly recommend Patty!”

“Emma is amazing! I loved that she wanted to meet me and Lacey before she accepted a job. It was important to her that we were all on the same page. I was able to talk about Laceys needs and routine in person, which really made me feel at ease. When the weekend came for her to stay at our house I was completely comfortable leaving Lacey in her care. She gave me updates and pictures which was great. Thank you Emma!!!!”

About: As I said in my headline, I work from home so it is easy for me to pack my stuff up and come care for your pets while you are away. If they will be staying with me they will get spoiled with attention all day. Our backyard is not fenced in but we have a line off our back door from when we had a dog for when nature calls. I am also freely able to let them out for potty breaks while working. My work schedule is very flexible to take your pets for walks or stop in. I currently watch my friends animals when they are away. One household is 2 dogs and 2 cats and the other is just a cat. One of the dogs I have experience administering medication with and dealing with a anxious dog. I also frequently watch a families Boxer when they have errands to run or want to go out for the evening.
About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who has cared for dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs and birds. I’m very comfortable caring for animals both young and old. I have experience with senior dogs that require daily care (medications/baths/eye and ear cleaning) as well as animals still in training. Whether your pet needs high-energy fun or gentle companionship, I’ll treat them like a member of my family. If boarding at your home I’m also willing to help with gathering mail, watering plants and other small household needs. I’m currently not working many hours at my job and thought this would be a great way to spend my extra time since I love animals. I am responsible for normal activities such as feeding my dog twice a day, and letting her out. I take time daily to play with my dog and enjoy giving her treats. I also find time to wash her, clip her nails, clean her face, etc.
“Yana is an amazing sitter. She was very flexible when our schedule changed and communicated very clearly. I can’t say enough good things about our experience! Yana went above and beyond to make sure our dog felt comfortable and cared for.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and currently care for four dogs and one cat of my own. Caring for multiple pets has taught me patience, responsibility, and how to recognize each animal’s unique personality and needs. From energetic playtime and long walks to quiet cuddles and sticking to feeding routines, I’m comfortable providing attentive, loving care. Also, I am comfortable and experienced in handling medication for dogs as one of my dogs at home has diabetes. I understand that every pet is part of the family, and I’ll treat yours with the same kindness, respect, and affection that I give my own. I’m currently working part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule to care for your pet. I’ll do my best to accommodate your preferred days and times, and I’m happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits both you and your furry friend. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have experience caring for my own four dogs and one cat, so I’m familiar with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or taking them for a walk, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, fresh water, and lots of love. I’ll also respect your pet’s routine, follow any feeding or medication instructions carefully, and provide regular updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

I’m currently working a part-time job, while a full-time college student. I am free currently Saturday-Tuesday. Saturday and Sundays I will be available from 8am till 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Monday I will be available all day starting from 10am and Tuesdays all day after 3pm. I always prioritize your pets well-being and follow your specific instructions for their care. About: Hi! My name is Taylor, and I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for dogs and cats. I work full-time with a hybrid schedule, which gives me flexibility at the end of the week and lets me spend quality time with the pets I’m caring for. I have two cats of my own, so I’m very familiar with feline care, routines, and different cat personalities. I also have experience fostering kittens and caring for multiple pets at once. I grew up with two Goldendoodles and a Miniature Pinscher-Poodle mix, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I’m moving to Sheboygan Falls and love taking dogs on neighborhood walks or to nearby parks for some fresh air and exercise. Whether your pet needs walks, overnight care, or just some extra company and attention, I’d love to help and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away! I work a hybrid in-office schedule, which gives me flexibility to provide pet care throughout the week. I’m available for dog sitting from Thursday through Sunday, as well as lunchtime drop-in visits on weekdays. I love being able to give dogs plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and love while their owners are away. I make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. “I am an anxious cat mom and leaving my babies even for a few days is always rough for me. Finding a trustworthy sitter is VERY important to me and from the moment I met Stephanie I knew she would take excellent care of my babies. She sent me many photos every day and I loved seeing them happy in her care. She treated them like her own and slept with them every night. Stephanie is thoughtful, communicative, responsible and you can tell she has a genuine love of animals. I will 100% book her again for any pet care service. I can’t recommend her enough to take care of your babies because she took exceptional care of mine!!!”

Travis 🐾 I have had the pleasure of growing up on a farm surrounded by around animals my entire life. My family has owned many gorgeous retrievers that I fell in love with and took care of. I’d be in charge of walking, letting them out or dog sat for the weekend once I was older. Growing up this way has been a positive learning experience that lead me to be a great dog owner. 10 years ago I adopted Sadie, my first baby. She’s a beautiful lab mix. I have learned so much in the last decade about training dogs. I’ve taken puppy training class and still use a lot of that knowledge till this day. Sadie is extremely well trained and if I could I would 100% be a dog trainer. I’m not a dog whisperer but I definitely have a good understanding of how to handle pups and adult dogs. Dogs are easily my main love, but all animals have a special place in my heart. I value the connection and constant love they show towards their owners. I treat my dog like my daughter and would love to have have more one day. It would be a pleasure to care after your family member. I work full time M-F, with the ability to stop at home during the day. Also my wife is home most Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. So we work together to let the dogs out at appropriate time and keep them on their feeding schedule. Weekends are fun times with plenty walking, hikes, swimming, and dog parks if the owner is comfortable with us doing so. We go for two to 3 walks a day with our playful lab pups. We always have dogs on leash, and we have multiple kennels for our dogs if needed.

About: I grew up spending hours reading bedtime stories to the chicks, hens, cats, horses, dogs (and sometimes a spare turtle or rabbit) on my family’s farm. I’ve been lucky enough to gain experience house-sitting pets in rural areas and the city, all around the world as well as volunteering in shelters and fostering! There’s no pet I’m not excited to hang out with!! As a full timer worker, I’m available for dog walking, house visits or house sitting on available weekends and occasional weeknights depending on my schedule and your needs! I’m experienced with dog training, and very patient and calm to letting animals warm up to me. I’m experienced with walking highly reactive dogs and navigating other pet’s body language.
About: I have taken care of dogs between the ages of 1-14 [human years] for many family members and neighbors since I was a teen. I have had two labradors and two golden retrievers throughout my lifetime, and have taken care of breeds ranging from Corgi to Vizsla to German Shepherd. I am very family-oriented, and will take care of your pups like they are my own! I have a very flexible schedule which allows me to give lots of love and attention to your canine family members. I am a very active individual, and love to incorporate dogs into my routine to satisfy their energetic hearts and souls! I would love to hear about any particular needs, struggles, or enjoyed habits that your dogs may have. I want them to enjoy our time together as much as I will!!

“Wow! What can I say? Margaret exceeded every expectation I had for Uecker’s care today! As a new puppy mom who’s only had him for three weeks, leaving him with someone for the first time was a little nerve-wracking. But Margaret made me feel completely at ease. She didn’t just watch him—she played with him, loved on him, reinforced the commands we’ve been working on, and treated him like he was her own. The best part? Walking through the door and finding Uecker snuggled up right next to her. My heart absolutely melted. It was obvious he felt safe, loved, and completely comfortable. I truly couldn’t be happier with the care Margaret provided. Book her before I do, because with my busy schedule, I’ll definitely be calling her again! Thank you so much, Margaret. Uecker already adores you, and so do I!”

“Travis always goes beyond the call of duty! He is amazing with our dog, communicative and always leaves our place nice and tidy after his stay. If I could give more than 5 stars I would :)”

“We have high energy dogs. Jeremy came over ahead of time for a meet and greet so they could get to know him. That was important because one of our dogs will nip if he doesn’t know you. He needs that introduction. They both took to him and snuggled in for Jeremy’s stay.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 877 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Belgium. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Belgium walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Belgium maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Belgium choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Belgium. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
