“Izze was fantastic! We booked her last minute for a holiday trip and couldn’t be more happy. She was thorough, communicative, and took great care of our pup. Couldn’t ask for a better house/dog sitter!”

“Stella and Sara were perfect for each other! Lots of pictures shared lots of doggie smiles and activity around the house. The house was left very clean which made our return home a breeze. Sara and I exchanged texts quite a bit which softened our missing Stella. I will definitely invite Sara back when the occasion arises and Stella will be looking forward to that!”

“Very pleased with Cailin's week spent with our 2 goldendoodles at our home. She tended to our many outdoor plants. The house was clean and welcoming when we walked in the door. Thank you, Cailin!”

“Rebecca was wonderful with our 3 dogs. They are all rescues and very nervous. Rebecca was there during the 4th of July week, and there were lots of fireworks. The dogs did great with her, and she checked in each morning to let us know they were doing fine. We will definitely use her again!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our dogs received! He was flexible with scheduling, communicated regularly so we always knew how things were going, and his rates are very reasonable. He’s also incredibly adaptive; he noticed things that needed attention and handled them on his own without having to ask, like cleaning up messes without missing a beat. You can tell he genuinely cares about the well-being of the animals in his care. Our dogs were happy and loved, and that’s all we could ask for. We’ll definitely be booking again!”
“Daniel took AMAZING care of my pets and my home!! I have chickens, an indoor cat, & a 12 month old Great Pyrenees, who is pretty difficult. He is either high strung or napping… there’s no middle ground. Daniel’s calm demeanor was just what was needed to create a successful stay with my dog! He took him walking with other dogs which was great & Daniel seemed to have managed quite well. The hens and kitty appeared to have also been taken care of perfectly! I hope to have Daniel come back and stay for my next getaway! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!”

“First time using Rover. Overall great experience. Elise responds quick and was on time. She sent pictures and daily updates. Dogs seemed to really like her. We will be using Rover again!”

“Bev was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Lily. She took her on regular walks, kept her happy, and treated her like family. I came home to a spotless house, a relaxed pup, and total peace of mind. Bev is reliable, kind, and truly goes above and beyond. We’re so grateful for her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter”

“This was our first time to use Rover and Christian was amazing. He went over and beyond to make us feel secure that our senior chocolate lab was being well taken care of. Sent pictures and kept us up dated. I highly recommend him for your pets. Thank you Christian!”

“Liz was available on short notice and took great care of my dog Nova! I got lots of picture updates and had a happy dog when I returned home. I would definitely recommend her and ask her to watch Nova again in the future.”
“Kaity did a great job as our housesitter and pet sitter. She sent frequent pictures of our animals and played with our dog. Our shy cat even came out of hiding for her! She watered all of my flowers outside, collected mail and packages, and left the house in great shape. We will definitely book her again in the future.”

“Kayla had excellent communication before, during, and at the end of our booking. She stayed in our home and watched our two dogs and they were super happy when we got home. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Patricia was great watching my dog Ginger for 5 days! She accepted my last minute request right away and was able to fit in a meet and greet. She provided plenty of updates and pictures of Ginger throughout the sitting. She left my place super tidy and clean. I would definitely trust her to watch any of my animals again!”

About: I have done dog bathing/grooming for five years, then moved into human medicine. But my passion for animals followed me, and I have been house/dog/cat sitting for the healthcare providers I work with and fellow medical assistant for just over two years. I have experience with more high maintenance dogs/cats including those with health issues, behavioral issues, or mobility issues. Whether it's a chihuahua or a great dane, I respect an animal's boundaries and that has carried me well through life caring for them. I'm currently working weekdays as a medical assistant from 8am to 4:30pm M-F with the availability to leave during my lunch break to provide potty breaks to your fur babies. My clinic is closed weekends so I will be available all weekend. I treat any animal like they're family, and will also adhere to their daily routines. I find that it helps decrease any possible anxieties and stress for them by sticking to their normal daily routines as much as possible. If they want to cuddle on the couch or in bed, that is completely okay with me, I'll take all the snuggles I can get!
“Sage sat our home, 3 dogs, and old cat for 12 days while we were out of country. Everyone was healthy and happy when we got home and the house looked great. We’ve used Sage a few times and she is honest, dependable, and great with our pets! I highly recommend her if you’re looking for a pet sitter.”

Celeste was an absolute joy to work with, what a great blessing to know that my dogs were truly in the Best of Care!! She was most attentive to each dogs’ individual needs and concerns, and very detail-oriented to go beyond what was expected!! Celeste also cleaned up after them and my house was impressively clean!! Most importantly, my pets were happy as she communicated via videos and pictures of all the fun play she devoted to them!! I truly could enjoy my vacation seeing how happy, content and secure they were… Celeste is very dedicated to her work, she combines professionalism with lots of love, genuine caring with her beautiful personality!!!
She was absolutely amazing with our puppy, Bree, and our cat, Bell! We came home to two happy, well-cared-for girls and could tell they received lots of love and attention while we were away. She went above and beyond, even doing our laundry, which was such a thoughtful surprise. We had complete peace of mind knowing our pets were in such great hands and would happily book with her again!

Margie is a fantastic dog/house sitter. Our dog takes a while to warm up to new people, Margie's patience won her over within a few days. We typically put our dog in our room when we are not home because of her history of jumping the fence when she was younger. We no longer need to do this since Margie proved that she is fine with full access to the house and yard when no one is home. We have a much happier dog and no longer need to worry about her being left alone.

I will definitely book Jessica again! Being willing to pet sit over the Christmas holiday so we could go out of state to visit family was already over and beyond but during her stay, she was super communicative, took out our trash bins (without us needing to ask her) for us, and understood my anxious dog’s needs and space. So thankful and will definitely booking again when I need a pet and house sitter!!

I’m pretty sure my pups wished I stayed away longer so they could spend more time with Jasmine. She was perfectly on time and prompt with her visit, has been so communicative throughout my trip sending me pics of them having a blast, my house was cleaned, my dogs and cat groomed and given so much love, I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about my experience. I will absolutely book with her again!

Cheri was responsible, reliable, and seemed to take good care of our 8 month old pup. She responded quickly while we were away, and was kind enough to help us with our trash bins and garden. We set up our guest bedroom for her and she even voluntarily washed the sheets/pillow cases afterwards. She kept our house clean and left no mess behind. Thanks, Cheri!

FAQs for House Sitting - Deal
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 943 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Deal. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deal walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deal maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Deal. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
