“We have Jenni care for our dog and reptiles every time we go out of town. She is reliable, and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is well cared for! It is so nice to know that we do not need to worry about the pets when we are away!”

“Penny was awesome with my cat while I was out of town for 6 days. She sent lots of photos and was very communicative. My shy cat was comfortable with her after the first day, which surprised me because it usually takes him longer to warm up to people! I would definitely book her again!”

“Nathan is taking such good care of my very active doggy duo! He's helping them (and me!) through a transition to being home alone all day for the first time in their lives and it's been a tremendous relief to know that they are getting exercise, enrichment, and attention from Nathan during the day. He has been communicative, flexible, and highly trustworthy. It's clear that Nathan is a dog lover and understands their needs. I'm so grateful for his time with my dogs and he has my wholehearted recommendation!”

“Great first experience with rover. I needed someone to turn on and off my rabbits fans and give my cat her prebiotic. Corinne was great, she came on short notice. Communication was great. She sent the cutest pictures of my fur babies, i feel she really cares for animals. All and all great experience. Thank you so much Corinne for taking care of my bebes ?”

“Dominique is wonderful w our two dogs. We have one rather shy girl, and he really took the time get to know her and make her feel comfortable. Now she snuggles with him whenever he visits. He’s attuned to dog body language, and it’s clear that he truly loves spending time with the animals he’s caring for. He’s there for the snuggles, fetch games, & making our dogs happy. He sends detailed reports and photos w each visit. And he’s a very upbeat, enjoyable fellow to be around. Recommend!”

“I highly recommend Ronda! They provided excellent care for our shy kitties, ensuring not only basic needs but also working on gaining the kitties’ trust (and our kitties don’t trust easily), giving them affection and playtime. Ronda even helped us by cleaning the kitties’ hairball oopsies! Reliable, trustworthy, and great communication throughout (I loved the daily pics). Our kitties seemed happy and content upon our return. A purrfect choice for any cat parent(s)!”

About: I have pets of my own currently and have had pets since I was little. I love all furry friends; small and large, young and old, grumpy and friendly! I have had to administer medicine before so I am comfortable with special care routines. I love being active with animals, or snuggling on the couch. I also have baby sitting experience so I know to listen for sudden silences (for those of you who have mischievous pups) :) I work as a server part-time so I have a flexible schedule. I am used to pet routines and love walking and spending time with them. As this is something I practice in my personal life with my doggies, it will be no challenge to maintain your pets schedule! Wherever the doggie is, I am (meaning if we are on walks or potty breaks or playing in the back yard I am present with the dog). A rule of thumb for me is that the animal takes the lead. I am the stranger in the situation so if they aren’t wanting pets and cuddles, I listen. If they have a certain route they walk, I go where they lead.

About: I was a dog owner and primary caretaker of my family dog for around a decade. I’ve always taken care of friends’ dogs for as long as I can remember. I’m patient, understanding, and not overbearing to dogs. I love spending time with dogs—giving them much needed exercise or just hanging out. I’m moving to the East Coast for a new job at the end of the month, so these next two weeks are super free and flexible for me! In my client’s home, I never disrupt the space. I respect it as the client’s and as the dog’s. I’m patient and slow as the dog gets to know me, and I earn you and your dog’s trust! Above all, I maintain cleanliness and respect.

About: Hello friends! I am a student in the medical field- I specialize in working with cats, special needs/high energy breeds, large dogs, puppies, and even farm animals! I have a history of animal husbandry including show/farm animals and training medical service animals. I have also worked in a research setting with primates! It’s been some of the best work of my life! A pet is as unique as their owner and each animal has distinct needs, and expected routines. From one animal lover to another, allow me to entrust your family member as part of my pack. When I am with an animal(s) aside from needing to leave for errands, or checking in on my pets, I’ll be staying in the home! I have a fully fenced back yard bordering a forest, and a large dog run. No matter if you have a fence digger - this fence is sunk into the ground!

About: I’m able to take care of dogs, lizards, cats of all sizes, personally I own two Scottish collies, and one bearded dragon. I’ve owned all of them for about 6 years. Im working part time at a senior living home, and I’ll be able to be taking care of your loved pets Monday to Thursday. It could occasionally change depending on my work schedule. Either way I can always work around it. My backyard is fenced, it has three tiers, and I live right next to a trail where I could take your pets on a run or a nice walk!

About: Rescued two outside cats before and have formed bonds with usually shy dogs/cats. Don’t have much experience with training animals, but will make sure they have enough exercise when needed! Working very low part time as a cook, but love working with animals. This is a great way for me to build my experience in this area. Making sure the water is filled and they are fed on time. I try to take my roommates dog outside when I can, but hot weather doesn’t allow that too much right now

About: As an Aussie owner and lifelong dog lover, I bring calm, confident energy to every pup I care for. I have experience with high-energy breeds, senior dogs needing extra patience, and pups with special routines. Whether it’s trail walks, playtime in the yard, or quiet cuddle sessions, I tailor care to your dog’s unique needs. I’m attentive, reliable, and treat every pet like family. Your dog’s happiness and safety are my top priority! I’m a freelance filmmaker who often works extended editing days/weeks all from home — the perfect time for me to care for dogs. I open my schedule on Rover during these stretches so your pup can enjoy constant companionship, regular walks, and plenty of attention while I work from the house. Whether I’m caring for your pup in my home or yours, safety and comfort come first. I keep a calm, dog-friendly space with no toxic plants, secure outdoor access, and minimal hazards. I follow your dog’s routines closely—feeding, walks, meds, and more—and provide updates so you always know how your pet is doing. I respect your home like it’s my own and treat every animal with the same love and attention I give my own Aussie.

About: See my $20 Off QR Code in my photos! I love being around animals and have been around them my whole life. I grew up in generations of animal & nature-lovers. It’s a gift to be able to connect with animals. I love to return the positive energy an animal gives. I feel like every animal deserves kindness. I feel like I have a gift to be able read, understand, calm and relax and add happiness to an animal’s day. They are therapy for me as much as I feel I am for them. I’m happiest and genuinely feel most at-ease with animals. It’s important for me they feel comfortable with and around me. I know that much like human children, routine is very important to pets. If you need me to check in on them, feed /water them, potty breaks/short walks/close-by parks/play toss-the-ball, hug/cuddle/companion-time or stay at your home I am available to help. I develop unique connections to each animal I’m around and grateful to be around each one. Whatever a pet-owner needs me to do to help make their pet’s day better, I’m up for the challenge. Animals make my day, daily! Whether it be my friend’s dogs & cats or the Brahma bull that is up the road, I try to see an animal each day. I do have experience with animals that have high-anxiety, special needs and abusive backgrounds. I look forward to meeting and caring for your pet(s)! I am looking to assist with in-home day/night(s) stays, drop-in visits and walks. I’m available anytime and look forward to meeting you & your pet(s)! Although I do have a wonderful, small fenced-in yard, I live in an 800 sq ft home therefore, I think it's best to go where the pet is most-comfortable (their own home).

“I forgot to book with Amir for a weekend and I’m my final hours before leaving, he was happily ready to care for my fur babes. Never disappointed with his services. And he made sure a slew of packages made it safely into our home. Thanks Amir!”

About: I love to take dogs on long walks because I think it is very important for a dog to get good exercise. I have pet sat many dogs for friends and looked after cats as well. I know how to clean a litter box and make sure that food bowls and water bowls are filled. I am off for the summer so I have a completely open schedule and I am ready to take care of pets whenever they need me. I make sure to watch the dogs when they are out in the backyard and make sure that I always know where they are when we are in the house.

“Rachelle did a wonderful job taking care of my cat while I was away. She took the time before I left to get to know my cat, her particular needs, and ask many questions to ensure she was well cared for. While caring for my cat, she communicated frequently and was very responsive. I would definitely ask her to care for my pets again!”

About: Friends and family have always counted on me to take care of their pets. I have a knack for listening to what a dog needs--whether that's a play, someone to just sit with, or whether they're just hungry. While I've watched peoples' standard dogs, I most remember sitting an elderly pug. She was still playful at her age, but still needed special care to ensure she was healthy and happy. If you're looking for a Portlander who doesn't mind getting his hands dirty to make your dog happy while you're away, I'm here for you. I can't wait to meet your furry family member. I think we'll have lots of fun together! I work-part time substituting and working for a non-profit retail store, but I often find I'm overwhelmed with people. Even though animals are demanding, they aren't as much an energy drain. My retail job is on the weekend, and subbing is during the week. I tend to accept subbing jobs the night before or the morning of the assignment, so I'd like 1-2 days advance for when you'd like me to take care of your dog or cat. I first like to know emergency contact info. This usually means the clients, but this can also be a vet. I then like to know the pet's dietary or personal needs as well as their schedule, what sets them off or gets them calm, and their basic personality traits. This helps me ensure I'm able to provide them with the best care. Typically homeowners will have a safe space already for their pet, but I continue that trend by ensuring nothing hazardous is left out. Above all, I try to establish a level of trust with the pet. Once I do, it makes ensuring the safety of the pet easier.

Christina C.

“I’m a nurse currently working from home because of COVID and didn’t realize how much I needed a break from my own dogs lol. Christine does late night daycare so my two enormous dogs can get their night zoomies out, and my husband and I can have a glass of wine and watch a few hours of tv without our crazy kids harassing us. When I get back into the office I will be using her for daycare on my 12 plus hour shifts because she’s the only person that my very very overprotective German Shepherds have just melted over. I swear they love her more than me!”

Grayden M.
“Grayden is very responsible and caring for animals, he has watched my dog many times and watered my plants aswell. He’s very responsive and respectful I would definitely recommend for a trusting pet sitter!”

Janelle E.
“I HIGHLY recommend Janelle to care for your pets! I've known her for 53 years and she has cared for our dogs and cats many times. Her love of animals became apparent at the very early age of 3. By 8 years old, she wanted to become a veterinarian but soon discovered "putting down" animals was part of being a vet, which she could not bare. She has an uncanny gift that attracts animals to her. She's very good at keeping them busy with play time, walking, running, quiet time and the all-important snuggle time. Along with being an excellent pet sitter, she is dependable, responsible and a very caring individual.”
