“Gwynne, as always, was amazing!! She was able to help us with almost no notice. We were able to enjoy a last minute get away and we knew our fur babies were in excellent hands”

“Responsible, communicative and attentive. While I was gone for work, Rielly look over my puppy and my two other dogs. She took take care of them and sent me many notifications, photos and videos. Not only that, on her last day, she gifted them goodie bags with letters to each of my babies. She went above and beyond for my babies and I can’t wait for her to come back to look over them. In fact, one of my dogs is VERY fearful and shy and Rielly was able to win his thrust to the point that Augustine became close to her. Thank you Rielly!”

“Jill was amazing! She cared for our dogs like they were her own. I have 2 very different dogs with different needs and she was great for both. I have an older dog who needs love and slowness while the other is a younger hyper pup who needs alllllll the love and walking and energy. Jill sent photos while I was away. She took the worry away of being away from my babies!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats as pets, so have lifelong experience caring for animals. My family owned a small farm for a period of time, so I also gained experience with horses in addition to cats and dogs. We owned a German Shepard and a cockapoo, so I do have direct experience with both smaller and larger dogs. In high school, I took 4 years of animal science, which further advanced my knowledge of pets and gave me hands on experience in a pre-veterinarian science atmosphere. I plan on returning to school in the near future to further my studies in the animal sciences field and pursue a career as a Veterinarian Technician. I have had a life full of loving animals and live to care for them any way I can.
“Adam watched my cats this weekend (two drop-in visits) for the first time; he was fantastic and exceeded all my expectations! He showed up exactly at the arranged times and texted me 11 pictures each visit which not only showed me my beloved cats, but also showed me that all of the necessary tasks we had discussed previously had been completed (ie a picture of a cleaned litter pan, a picture of a food plate arranged with medication, etc). And bullet items for each cat such as if poop and or pee was found in the litterpan. I highly recommend Adam and will definitely be using his services in the future! Thank you Adam!”

About: I’ve been a dog lover my entire life. One of my earliest memories is begging my parents for a dog until they relented and got me a free puppy from the classifieds in the newspaper (yes, I am that old)! Over my life time, I’ve been privileged to take care of five dogs. They ranged in size from a 10 pound poodle mix to a 150 pound St. Bernard. My current fur babies are a 2 large dogs and two pampered house cats As a pet owner, I know the importance of having reliable and trustworthy sitters to take care of my fur babies when I am out of town. I am that person who writes long and detailed instructions about feeding schedules, medications, and who to call in case of an emergency. Most afternoons, I am available to take your dog(s) for a walk, feed your cat(s), or just check on your house when you are away. I will text or email you updates with photos. I will take care of your fur babies and respect your home as if they were my own.

“May did a fantastic job with my pets while I was gone. I have two large dogs and four cats. She eased all my anxiety while I was away. Would definitely recommend her and use her services again”

“Kim communicated, was helpful, and extraordinarily caring! I know my boys were well taken care of and we are happy to have her sit anytime! She sent us pictures and even bought in our mail! Thank you Kim!!”

“Anna has been a life saver for my dog and I! Thank you SO MUCH for taking care of my baby while I was transitioning into my new job and spending 12+ hours a day away from home! I am sad that we will no longer have Anna in our area. I highly recommend Anna!”

About: I’ve helped care for my family dog, Shadow, since he was a puppy, giving me hands-on experience with daily walks, feeding, playtime, and maintaining a consistent routine. Spending so much time caring for him has taught me how important patience, reliability, and positive attention are for every dog. I truly love dogs and enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality. Whether your pup loves long walks, playing fetch, or just wants some extra cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’ll treat your dog like they’re part of my own family and always provide the love, attention, and care they deserve. As a graduate student, my schedule gives me the flexibility to fit pet care into my day. Since moving into an apartment, I don’t get to spend as much time with dogs as I used to, so I’m excited for the opportunity to care for pets and make them part of my weekly routine. I’m happy to work around your pet’s schedule, whether that means morning walks, afternoon visits, or evening check-ins. At this time, I’m unable to host pets in my apartment, so I focus on caring for dogs in their own homes and through walks. I’m happy to follow your house rules and your dog’s regular routine, whether that means specific walking routes, feeding schedules, potty breaks, or any other care instructions. For walks, I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise, attention, and safe, enjoyable time outside. During drop-in visits, I’ll provide fresh water, playtime, potty breaks, and lots of affection so your dog stays happy and comfortable while you’re away. My goal is to give you peace of mind by providing dependable care that’s tailored to your dog’s needs.
“Melissa is beyond a 5 star sitter!! I was very anxious leaving my 2 labs while I went away for a few days. Melissa had a meet and greet with them and answered all my questions. I was SO relieved! She sent pictures twice a day which kept me reassured the pups were doing well. She went above and beyond!!”

About: Hi my name is Michael. I am a current senior at Wilkes who is looking to get involved in the local community. I have spent several years caring for dogs. I have two of my own at home in Stroudsburg (pit mixes), and in high school and over breaks I have pet sat and walked dogs for over a dozen homes in my community. I take pride in being a student leader and a future educator, as well as being responsible, dependable, and knowledgeable. For instance, I am well versed in dog body language, basic obedience, and many different breeds and personalities (small to big, guardian breeds, I love them all!). I am happy to reinforce the rules, expectations, and training that you have with your pet, or teach small new things like leash manners. Whether your dog needs to burn some energy, or just needs someone to check in on them throughout the week, I hope that you will consider me! Being a college student, my schedule is actually pretty flexible. I am generally available for: Morning/Midday walks/check-ins throughout the work week. Afternoon and evening visits on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Weekend stays or longer visits potentially as well. If you have any questions please reach out and I can see if we can work something out! Being a pet parent myself, I understand the varying needs and concerns when it comes to a pet sitter. Because of that, I take time to speak with all owners about expectations, routines, and how they would like me to approach their home and pets. I usually like to meet all pets with the owners before beginning care as well, simply to ensure that they are comfortable with me. Generally, I will also take notice and respond to any body language or comfort concerns, exercise and training expectations, feeding and medication routines, and any other requests that an owner or pet may bring! If you have any questions please also reach out!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
