We recently left our dog, Ivy, with Brittany, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she received. Ivy absolutely loved being there! Brittany and her family treated Ivy like one of their own, showering her with love and attention. It was clear that they genuinely care about the pets they look after.

Coco had a great first stay with Cindy and her sweet family and dog Pepper. Cindy kept us up-to-date with how the stay was going by sending many photos during Coco’s stay. She was also very accommodating in terms of last-minute changes to the drop off and pick up times.

This was our first time leaving Maggie at a non-family members home so we had a lot of worries. Melissa was very welcoming and explained her process of on boarding new friends. Everything went smoothly and we got pictures everyday of Maggie’s adventures. We will definitely be using Melissa in the future.

My Golden had a great stay with Connie and family. She sent photos, gave updates, and we met before at a dog park to make sure our dogs got along. He was well cared for, and even sent him home with a goodie bad with some treats. They are much more like professional caretakers and couldn’t recommend enough.

About: Hi, I’m Ariel! 🐾 Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From growing up caring for family pets to rescuing dogs in need, I’ve spent decades learning how to understand and care for pups of all ages, personalities, and energy levels. I’m now a proud dog mom to two dogs of my own, both of whom I’ve personally trained from puppyhood. I’ve navigated everything from potty training, crate training, leash manners, and basic obedience to caring for senior dogs who need a little extra patience, comfort, and attention. Whether your dog is a playful puppy, a spirited adult, or a sweet senior, I treat every dog like they’re part of my family. I understand that every pup has unique needs, routines, and quirks, and I take the time to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Expect plenty of walks, playtime, belly rubs, photo updates, and one on one attention. My goal is simple: for your dog to have such a great time that they’re excited to see me again! 🐶💕 Spending the summer in Sag Harbor, I’m fortunate to have access to beautiful walking routes and dog friendly areas, making every outing an adventure. I know how much trust it takes to leave your furry family member in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. Reliable, attentive, and genuinely dog-obsessed, I’m here to provide the same level of care I’d want for my own pups. I'm up in Sag Harbor for the summer and currently semi retired from my 14 year career in property management. With two pups of my own I am fully capable of feedings, walks, potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, and some medical. I'm great at understanding the different personalities dogs may have. I will ensure your pups are always safe and well taken care of so you can stay worry free.

About: I grew up with 2 childhood dogs and had others since then. Growing up I always loved playing outside with them and my childhood dog, Couscous, came everywhere with me. I have experience with dog walking, crate cleaning, basic command training, basic special needs, basic grooming, and more! I am working Per Diem as an LNA, but have a lot of vacancy in my schedule and only work shifts that I choose to pick up. Essentially, I create my own schedule so I can leave most dates open with a week notice or less. I have a large open unfenced backyard, however, I am very attentive to dogs that I am walking with a leash. We have no children or other pets currently in the home. I am comfortable providing bathing needs and feeding needs in my home. Dogs are allowed on furniture, however not in areas where they could get into food or chemicals.

I dropped off my 11 month old, highly energetic, golden doodle for her first time away from home with some trepidation. She instantly became part of the family and made new puppy friends too! Frequent updates put my mind at ease. I think she's a bit bored now she's home!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cutchogue home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
