“Kaia was absolutely wonderful with our pup..she was quick to communicate and we felt very comfortable knowing our dog was in such capable hands. She is kind and warm and cares for your dog with love.”

“Leif and Dani were the best. They took very good care of our pup and kept us updated with photos throughout the stay. Very communicative. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a rover in the area!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I honestly wish I could give more than 5 stars! Wags and Whiskers Play and Stay was an absolute blessing to me during an unexpected emergency trip out of town. From the very beginning, Sandra and Mark made me feel completely at ease leaving my dog, Lex Luther in their care—and that peace of mind is priceless. They went above and beyond! I received regular updates, including videos and pictures, which meant so much to me. It was clear Lex wasn’t just being “watched,” but truly cared for, loved, and engaged. They played, had treats, and my dog looked comfortable and happy the entire time. When I picked Lex up, I could tell he had been well taken care of—calm, content, and not stressed at all. That speaks volumes! If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely passionate about animals, I highly recommend Wags and Whiskers Play and Stay. I will definitely be using them again!”

“We were looking for someone to make Spirit feel right at home. We feel like we accomplished that with Laura. She and Spirit hit it off right away. We plan on using her many more times in the future.”

“Matt did a fantastic job with our pets. Not only did he send daily pictures, he provided detailed description of their behavior. His experience as a dog trainer gave new insight and he even provided tips on how I can work with them on my own. His property is amazing and has plenty of space for the dogs to run, conveniently located in North Columbus. Highly recommend and will book again!”

“Andrea did a great job with Whiskey all week. She sent lots of pics and updates with him playing and getting outside time. Would not hesitate to use her and her family again. Thanks for sharing your home. Jeff & Amy Carter”

Was quick to Respond any time I text him. Sent lots of pictures. I know the dogs loved his big yard. They could run around and play. Will definitely be using him again.Thank you so much for taking care of my babies.”

“This was our first time using Rover. Carter was fantastic & made us feel so comfortable leaving our pup. So accommodating and Luna had a blast running & playing. I liked getting the updates on her during her stay, too. I will 100% use Carter again. Great experience!!!”

“I was able to book with Casey last minute and she took great care of my Sweetie. When my cousin picked my dog up she said my dog was walking around like she was home and comfortable. I would definitely rebook and you should too.”

About: I’ve been a “dog person” (personally & now professionally) all my life, and have experience with big and small pups of all breeds, ages, and energy levels. I work at the vet school and have lots of home/yard space, time, and a social dog of my own that would happily welcome your fur baby! On weekdays, I either wfh or go into the office just 5mins away, so I’m always able to come home midday for potty breaks. I’m an active dog mom & love to walk around the neighborhood or nearby trails, but also have a large private fenced yard and a million toys if your dog prefers to get exercise that way. I also love & welcome the couch potatoes - all furniture is open for lounging and cuddles. I have been fostering & training dogs for the last 15 years and have basic medical training - so if your pup has any special considerations just reach out to discuss! My life pretty much revolves around my own dog, with a regular feeding/potty/play/lounging schedule, so guests would fit right into that routine. My schedule is very flexible & pups are never left alone for more than a few hours at a time. I have a fenced in yard with plenty of space to zoom and sniff around. I have a ~2yr old mixed breed dog (Mac) who is extremely social and loves making people/dog friends. He is playful, but often goes to dog parks and seems to adapt to whatever energy level the other dogs are, so he’s adaptable & loves chill time just the same.
“Maddie was amazing! I got updates and pictures during my dog’s stay. She was attentive to his needs and worked with him to make sure he was comfortable throughout his stay”

“Mary Michelle was the absolute BEST! She sent multiple photo updates every day full of walks, snuggles, and playtime. I have a 5 month old puppy and was nervous about leaving her, but she was happy, calm, and brushed and clean when I picked her up!”

“Audrey was absolutely wonderful! She sent us updates and pictures every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our dog clearly had a great time, he played every day, seemed completely comfortable, and was happy and relaxed when we picked him up. In the past, he has sometimes seemed nervous or skittish after staying with other sitters, but that was not the case at all with Audrey. We could tell he felt safe, well cared for, and genuinely enjoyed his stay. We were extremely satisfied with the care she provided and would gladly recommend Audrey to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive dog sitter. We will definitely use her again!”

“I want to sincerely thank Samantha and her family for their exceptional care of Myles. She was attentive, kind, and truly went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable and loved. I could tell he had a great time with her family, and I’m so grateful for her dedication and genuine care. Highly recommend!”

“Brooke and Andrew were great! I knew when we first arrived, but they were perfect match because my dogs who usually bark at people did not bark at all, they connected immediately as if they already knew them. Brooke and Andrew were kind, and accommodating. I would highly recommend them to care for your fur babies!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cusseta home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cusseta.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cusseta sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
