“Lori was amazing and able to fit in a drop in visit with my 2 pups last minute! She sent the cutest pictures, and it looks like the girls had a great visit with her!”

“Sadie and Lance were great with our two dogs! They shared lots of pictures and updates throughout their visits. Our boys clearly had a blast and were well cared for. We would definitely book them again.”

“Daniel took amazing care of our two cats while we were away for a week. We really appreciated the great communication and detailed daily updates and photos. The cats seemed really well taken care of, their feeding areas were super clean, and it was clear that he took time to play with them and try to gain our shy one's trust. We felt really comfortable with Daniel and would definitely book him again. Thank you again!! 😺”

“We had a very last minute need for a check in visit for our dogs and Sydnie was an absolute angel! She fed and walked our pups and spent some sweet time snuggling with them as well! We hope the next time isn’t quite so urgent, and can’t wait for Sydnie to visit again!”

“I can see that Megan is clearly a dog person! My pups got so much attention from her on her visits while we were out of town for the weekend. Between treats, belly rubs, and snuggles (loved the pictures!) my dogs got royal treatment. And the attention to detail (did they thoroughly do their business before she left, etc) was unmatched. Thank you! I highly recommend Megan to anyone needing a dog-sitter!”

“Abby is wonderful! She knows how to take good care of dogs and guinea pigs. Our pitbull mix Hazel got along with her really well. The guinea pigs were kept clean and healthy. I highly recommend her.”

About: I have been taking care of neighbors, friends, & family pets since I was in middle school. I own two very unique cats, Daemon & Love that i adore & keep me busy sometimes. I love taking dogs or cats on walks. I used to love having my dog go on a run with me, but she has long since passed away. She wasn't the best at some dog commands from training, but she did enjoy getting a treat when she did listen. My work schedule is flexible during the week due to my level. I typically can come anytime in the early morning to about 10am & then evenings after 6pm. If someone is very close by, I can stop over during a lunch break as well around 2pm. I live in a two story condo, so my cats typically have run of my house. I adapt to anyone's preferences & home environment to care for their family fur baby to make sure they are comfortable while someone ia away.
“Elizabeth is truly amazing!!! She has looked after our babies twice now and she does not disappoint. I always know my cats are in good hands with her. Great communication and always quick with responses. Thanks Elizabeth for everything ❤️”

“So cooperative & reliable. A road closure created a little bit issue, but they were able and willing to accommodate and committed to taking care of OUR buddy Mac. would definitely contact again, however, a little too”

About: I have been the go to dog/cat sitter to many friends and family for a few years now. I have primarily worked with small dogs but I am open to dogs of all sizes. I also have experience in giving medication to both dogs and cats and have given cats an inhaler before as well. Please message me if you have additional questions! I work full time so I am happy to assist with any needs starting at 6PM on weeknights. I can also handle any quick needs on Monday or Friday between 12-1. I am very flexible on weekends, primarily in the morning and afternoon on Saturday, and on Sunday, I could be free at all times. I would only take care of pets of clients in their home. I live in an apartment and cannot have pets in my place. I am open to drop ins to feed, clean litter boxes, briefly let dogs outside, and even go for walks depending on needs of each client. I am also open to giving any medicines to dogs or cats. Upon completion, I am happy to communicate anything with the homeowner recapping each visit.
“Chelsea was amazing!! Our furkids loved spending time with her during our time away. She was very attentive and went above and beyond to take care of them and our needs while we were traveling. She shared many pictures with us and made sure we stayed connected to them. We would HIGHLY recommend her services to anyone who needs a pet sitter. We will definitely hire her again!”

“Ava has been a huge help with coming by in the middle of the day to let out and play with our 3 month old Aussie. We were nervous about leaving her when I went back to work, but Delta adjusted very well and gets so excited when Ava comes by. Ava spends the perfect amount of time with her, making sure she gets plenty of opportunities to relive herself, play and get water. She even keeps any eye out for any concerns. We really appreciate her timeliness everyday and flexibility whenever we require a last minute adjustment in the time that she stops by. We will continue to rebook her for drop-ins and hopefully for additional services in the future:)”
About: I helped my mom raise and train two Norwegian Elkhound puppies who are four years old now. They are my world and I visit them as much as I can. I work 3-4 days a week, I'm off Tuesday's, Wednesdays and every other weekend. I am new to this so shoot me a message if you want to set up an appointment. I am experienced with dogs who eat anything they can, so I would make sure your animals don't get into anything they aren't supposed to eat.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cuddy Village. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
